For me, a person who is sober is not an alcoholic. I would rather the term "Recovered or Recovering" Alcoholic feels too much of a identity label, we are much more than a powerless alcoholic.

Oh yes strange to invent excuses for why somebody treated u badly on any day. No reason t make believ their wife left or boss shamed them or any numbe of things. Just pick the one that makes u wrong for feeling upset and them innocent or almost. Crazy
