Kylie - your spirit of creative freedom - experimenting - building color and texture - not caring if a layer shows up in the end - invites my mind and heart to playing and letting go instead of holding tightly to each layer. Hooray! That's the spirit I'm trying to grow into - not just in craft - but in all of life. Also - I have tons of business cards (3.5 x 2) - and tissue and paint - and - well - this is a delightful way for me to spend time. You always inspire me, Kylie. Thank you for another wonderful video!
Thank you so much for your kind comment Mary. Business cards are great for upcycling in this way. I actually have a video on that from a few years ago - just in case you want to see some other approaches. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/uwUik9i7HzE/w-d-xo.html
I honestly didn't get the whole altered card thing until watching both Nina's and yours. I am in love with what you've done here Kylie. Your use of colour always amazes me as I'm so afraid of it. Thanks to watching you,I'm coming out my comfort zone. I can see me making these now as they are nice little projects to do for experimenting with techniques and colour. Great video as always x x x
Thank you so much Julie - I'm so pleased that this gives you ideas. And you are so right that this is a great way to experiment. Have fun creating. Take care :) xo
I followed along with you back when you did the 52 week card challenge. It was the very first art project I completed after losing my husband of 42 years. These will be a fun addition to add to those. I look back on my first project. They were so unskilled but it helped my sole and heart and mind heal. I will for sure be doing this months challenge. Thank you for sharing I love all of your art you r talent and great tutorials. Are so helpful. Thank you for sharing. 😃😍🥰👍
Dear Lorie , I remember you following along with the Positivity Deck videos. Your comment today means so much to me - more than I can express in words - to know that the project helped you through what must have been such a difficult time for you makes it so worthwhile to me - helping with your art and helping with your healing. Thank you so much for all your kind comments over the years. If you don't mind could you drop me an email at kyliecoostudio@gmail.com or send me a private message through Facebook - but only if you want to. Meantime take care
Thanks so much Stefanie. I used to always sand the cards and the dust seemed to get everywhere plus it made me cough. This way is much quicker and it gives me texture too. Thanks again :)
Ah, the Positivity Deck! I love the cards I made and I have to say that project really opened me up as an artist-also the Creative Affirmation cards. That scrap thing! I save so many pieces now and that is pretty much something I picked up from you and Nina! I love watching you work, the intuitive creative process is so freeing. When you are just playing wonderful things happen. Thanks, Kylie. You’re the best.
Thank you so much for your very kind comment Ellie - so very much appreciated and I am delighted that I helped you in some small way on your creative journey
These ATCs are very cool. I love making ATCs, when I get in the mood for playing “ small,” and making layer upon layer of different elements. This prompt will be very enjoyable. Thanks, Kylie.
hi Kylie! I love these!@ all of the texture is fun to see and do. I am messing with some book paper. Stamping on it and inking it. Maybe it will make it onto some ATCs! Cheers!
These are so adorable, Kylie! I am in love with the combo of copper and turquoise too, that Marmalade was perfect! Thanks for sharing, lovely to see your work!
Love your layers! I have to laugh when I see videos about using up your scraps because I always end up with a ton of scraps when I make something. But it’s ok because that’s the nature of creating 😊❤️
Thank you so much Kylie, I really really enjoyed watching you create these stunning and gorgeous altered playing cards. They are really really amazing and I just love ❤️ your no nonsense attitude to the creative processes. Thank you so much. I’ve watched Nina’s video too, and you make such a marvellous duo. You fit together like a pair of kid gloves, in other words Perfect 👌. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Love your style. It's so different from my own, but I can see how interesting they are. I also happen to like to work small :-). This months callenge suits me.
Your altered cards came out super Kylie, very inspiring, and I do enjoy doing ATC’s or playing cards. Off to catch up and rewatch some of your older videos, thank you for sharing, take care, Ali xx
I love your playing cards. The colorway is beautiful and really enjoyed watching your entire process. I love doing ATC's or playing cards as you can create a great project quickly. Thank you for sharing your process and the video is great.
WOW!!! These are fantastic! So unique and artsy. So many layers. I kept wanting you to STOP cuz I liked them already. But when all done, they are amazing. I don't know how we know WHEN TO STOP & WHEN TO KEEP GOING??!! Experience I guess. But I sure learned a LOT with this video!! Thank you so much for the video. Definitely gonna try this!!! Austin, TX USA
Thank you so much for your kind comment Barbara. It can be very hard knowing when to stop and of course sometimes things end up overworked - I think I get to the point when I feel that I don't want to lose what's there and so realise that's the point to stop - hope that helps :)
Thanks so much Kathy - sometimes I just display these as mini works of art but I have something else in mind for these and so there may be a video in future showing how I am going to use them :)
These are wonderful! Love the texture, love the colors you chose, too! The stamps gave each its own personality 😀. I always trim excess paper to have straight edges, but I think I might try some like this. The addition of the white, while a small thing, had a big impact!! I had a nice chuckle when you talked scraps. They seem always to multiply!!!! TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Thanks so much Evelyn. I had more scraps when I finished only they were in smaller pieces - I just can't seem to throw any of them away - I am feeling that I need a really big scraps project to clear them all. As always, thank you so much for watching and commenting - take care
Thanks Jane - and yes, the tissue is less messy than all that sanding which sometimes made me cough and it gives lovely texture. Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)
Lol, there needs to be a 'law' about scraps that come from using up scraps, in the bin straight away me thinks. Loved watching you create these altered cards, so different from the run of the mill versions I've been seeing. New subscriber for you, I love your style and think you are worthy of following. Cheers from Leigh
Lol Leigh - if there was a law that said the scraps from scraps should go in the bin then I'd be quite happy with that (... well possibly) but until then I'll keep on hoarding! Thank you so much for your kind comment about the cards and thanks also for subbing. I have a very eclectic mix of videos on my channel - not everything will appeal to everyone but I hope that most can find something of interest. I'll be over to check out your channel very soon. Thanks again. :)
Thanks so much Mari - I'm so pleased I decided to do the back because they would have felt unfixed otherwise (at least to me they would have). Hugs for you too 😊 xo
I love love the steampunk copper patina style color combinations you used here!! I especially loved the final touches of white paint pen and the different stamps to finish it off! Brilliantly created!! I just made a thank You card from playing cards with the Alice in wonderland theme for a customer I wonder if it would be ok to share it in your group?? It's oddly copperish too LOL 🤣❤️👏👌👍❤️❤️❤️🤠😜
Thank you Stefanie - I love patina type colours. And yes, if you made a card from a playing card then please feel free to share it in the group - just be sure to say that it is for the May playing card prompt
Love your cards Kylie! Would love to swap with you if you are ever interested? You know we love making some ATCs, would also love to send you some of our stencils. Hugs P and M

Love the colors and designs. Filled with interest and texture. Lovely ❤️🥰❤️
Thanks so much Amanda 😊
Oh yeah... I Also liked the use of tissue paper for a base. I'm used to sanding my cards so this was a nice idea if I'm out of sanding paper lol 😆😜🥰
Thanks so much Stefanie. I used to always sand the cards and the dust seemed to get everywhere plus it made me cough. This way is much quicker and it gives me texture too. Thanks again :)
