    This is the easiest, least visible and smartest way I've seen to join yarn. Thank you!!

    Thanks! And thanks for taking it so slowly. So many of these videos speed through things because the person who is doing it is used to doing it in automatic, but that can really make it difficult to digest it. Here you gave enough time to totally get behind the method. :)

    Thank you, thank you! I have watched three other videos repeatedly and could never get this to work until I found your video! I did it! Thank you again!

    Tried it once, followed the video TO - THE - LETTER - and it worked, immediately, first time! Did it a few more times to ensure it wasn't a fluke - and it's fantastic! Brilliant way to join either different colour yarns, or a continuation of the same yarn - with a seamless join! Per-Fecto!! Thanks !!

    Thanks for all your comments. My sister and I love to knit and crochet, but unfortunately we live in different states. As you can see, I'm not a professional TH-camr. I post these videos so that I can share tips with her and her daughter. I hate weaving in ends, and when I came across this join, I knew knew I had to share it. Thanks again for liking my video.

    Amazing! I used this technique to join Thick and quick yarn, Missed it the first time but the second time was perfect! Didn't even have to trim. I showed hubby with a worsted weight last night and it was magical. The yarn didn't appear to have a knot at all! Thank You so much for sharing this wonderful video!

    Brilliant!! Worked from the first try, and every time since!! I'd looked at other videos and given up. Thank you so much!! What I was previously doing wrong... It's kind of hard to see, but the first two wraps go around the front thumb, and around the back of the tails but pinched in front of the pointer finger. Thank you again!

    I was struggling for a very long time trying to figure out how to join yarn. I'm a beginner and I'm trying out a knitted hat as a gift this Christmas. I was working along and then suddenly my yarn was in two! I was shocked and worried because I thought it would be awhile until I had to join yarn as I'm working with a rather large ball. I quickly searched for videos to help me learn and I just couldn't grasp the idea. They moved too quickly and I couldn't see their fingers. I decided to give this video a try and it worked! I've successfully joined yarn for the first time! Thank you so much for your help, this video was so very helpful.

    I give up! I've never been more frustrated when trying to learn something new. After approximately 40 attempts and yards of yarn, I've come to the conclusion this just isn't meant to be. Scrolling down and reading some of the other comments, I don't feel so bad as I'm not alone in my frustration. Kudos to those of you who grasped the concept.

      the trick is you need to wrap around your thumb, i was at first wrapping around the two fingers, leaving one dangling and one in knot. and gently pull the for the string to slide off the thumb

    This is definitely a bit of a 'knacky' thing to learn. I've made over 20 attempts and failed every time. When I start pulling on the one color, it just comes off my thumb 'not' attached to second color. Will keep trying, but definitely have to get a 'knack' or whatever the word is, for this. Love the idea tho. You make it look SO easy, lol.

    • @rayoflightgeneral7988
      @rayoflightgeneral7988 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +rjknittingdude You probably had the same problem as me, make sure that the first loop you warp around is under the second loop, so basically the second loop is one that closer to the tip of your finger

      Thank you for this info. Yes, I am actually just sitting and following along with the video, when at home. I've sat here and tried this
      over and over 15-20 times in a row on several occasions. Tried again yesterday about a half dozen times in my car, waiting for a ferry. Had to change colors, so tried this again, over and over. I've tried leaving just a little sticking out and a lot sticking out, to see if that makes a difference. But, just won't work for me. So I'm obviously doing 'something' wrong, because you've proven it 'works'. I'll just keep trying in the future when I'm color changing. I'm a color knitter so usually every project I have many ends to attach. Thank you again :-)

      Just watched the video and saw something I missed before so tried it and got it to work 'almost', twice out of a dozen attempts. But the second time it worked, I had quite a big knot. First time it worked, it looked good, so thot I had it, lol. So tried again, but had big knot second time. Tried 6 more times, but it wouldn't work. So, definitely 'knacky'.

    • @rosmagnusdottir
      @rosmagnusdottir 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +rjknittingdude I have the same problem, its not as easy as it seem on the video. Probably working for me in 10 times out of 50. I am getting a bit annoyed.

    • @rjknittingdude
      @rjknittingdude 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rós Magnúsdóttir Haha, yes, I'm getting a little annoyed too, but mostly at myself, since when I watch the video it looks SO easy, but when I try, the ends just come apart as i pull. I've watched a few other techniques, which are NOT knacky, so may have to give up on this one, for now. The one I like most is with a darning needle. My only problem, I only use Bernat 100% cotton and my darning needle is way to big to fit down the center of the yarn. Also saw a 'braiding' technique, which I really liked, and I have no problem braiding, so gonna try that later tonight when I change colors.

    This is definitely a way to join yarn but not very securely from my attempts. When I pull on both yarns to tighten the knot the one not used to loop around it simply slips out. Perhaps it's that I'm not doing it quite right yet? I'm sticking with the invisible knot for now.
