  • Hi everyone! Come along as I top up our fridge and pantry this week at Pak n’ save. I really tried to cut back on costs this week as I spent a lot at Costco last week and I’m playing catch up this week. Still working out how the monthly bulk shop at Costco can factor in on our food budget.
    Stayed under $200 ( $163) which was my goal.🎉
We usually spend between $250-300 per week on groceries for a family of 4 in Auckland.
Would love to know what you are doing to save money on food and where you shop? Im trying to get better since lll be on Maternity leave soon so down to one income..
Thanks for watching! You can also find me on Instagram @ingzing_ww

I wish Pak N Save did real bulks, like 6kg packs and stuff. I truly think Pak N Save and The Warehouse co-operative-alliance would work out well in terms of buyng power. It would give them access to bigger bulks.

I think the prices are quite similar to the costs in Ireland at the minute except the frozen chicken would be slightly cheaper, if course the inflation is high at the moment but still more affordable than some countries, once you go with a meal plan, cook from scratch and try not to waste anything it's not so bad, really enjoying your channel, very easy to listen too, best of luck with it,new subscriber here 👋

Hi! Thanks for watching! I totally agree with you, meal planning and making things from scratch is key. Not sure what eating out/ takeout costs in Ireland but we try not to too much to save money as well.

It can be quite expensive for larger families, take away can average @€25/€40 for Asian food/fish and chips etc i often prefer making food at home, i feel it's more nutritious and a well stocked herbs/spices/beans/pulses add a lot of bulk and flavour 👌

I am so with you !! I love it it too. People knocking it but unless countdown have specials and home brand stuff - pak n save is the best.
Also pak n save with their high turnover - the produce is fresh.
I do buy my garlic elsewhere

I have love hate relationship with Pak n Save due to them being owner operated and what really gets ne so ANGRY is 1 store stocks this item but another owner WONT stock it. Oh yeah by the way are you crazy 🤪 RED Kumara is the best, not Gold...lol. Stay Safe.

I must say that it didn't look like that much for $169 food prices are way out of line I live in nz I I always say we get ripped off in this country we have some of the highest food prices in the world its a wonderful why people live off processed foods here as it way to expensive to eat well

Totally agree with you. Food is just so expensive. I still think eating out, even fast food is more expensive than making it at home..Just getting my kids happy meals the other day was $20 and they were starving an hour later 😒 I don’t know how people are surviving with the cost of food atm!

Are they? I dont buy bread, and few vegetables if at all. This means I can eat filling animal and animal products which are vital. Its all about prioritising foods which satiate over processed stuff.
Theres actually a reason certain ingredients are added to foods, they tend to make you hungrier long term and cause leptin derangements. The "full" feeling hormone.
