Power of Attorney Advanced Decisions for Care and Finances

This session provided an overview of Power of Attorney for Personal Care & Power of Attorney for Property (Finances), including the type of decisions and guidance that can be set out in POA documents, who can make POA documents and the requirements for the POA documents to be valid.
The presenter also reviewed when a POA come into effect and how can it be revoked, the role of a substitute decision maker, and how they must make decisions about care or finances decisions. The egaging and interactive webare addressed how ageism can influenece decision and importance of having meaningfully communication to experss our wishes to family and friends who will make decisions when we are no longer able to do so.
