Yes, if you play 1v1's you will have to not make mistakes and also train your kickoffs thats also probably a reason why it improves you

i dont play 1v1s bc of kickoff goals (i already know speed flip kickoffs but i still lose kickoffs for some reason) , demo spam/airdribble bump spam, and the stress. the best is to mix 1v1s and 2v2s.

I mostly lose because of kickoff goals in 1s too whether I play with people my rank or my friends in GC. 1s is hella tilting and I get mad easily. I don’t mind losing it’s just how I lose that gets to me

when i began rocket league i was at FIRST a 1s main. i hit Gold in season1 of RL in 1s, then i was already around c3/GC in the early seasons in 2s. 1s helped alot

A great way to rank up is Playing 1v1s and getting to the same rank that you are in 2s. If you are plat in 2s you want to get plat in 1s because players that are plat in 1v1 they are probably Diamond in 2s.

Im not bothered by the concept of ranking up anymore.. i enjoy Champ enough nowadays. Dont have enough time to grind 1s and getting tilted at myself for my mistakes. Id rather enjoy 3s and stay where ive been for the last 7+ seasons. Especially with the sift resets every season. Grinding to a higher lvl, just to be dropped down the equivalent of a 6 game streak is just boring now..
