  • In her first Design Star video, Heather walks us through her "Sustainable Toolkit," a kit of all the supplies she keeps on hand at all times to help her design anything & everything in a sustainable way. After going over these tools, Heather discovers that her plan for a hanging installation won't work in the space she's designing in, so she walks us through her process of troubleshooting onsite and making it work with the help of her handy Sustainable Toolkit, of course!

Hello! Do you have the link to Sue's blog post about the flower tips? I can't seem to find it.

Nice looking, but the sustainable aspect is pretty lame when it seems to only be about eliminating floral foam. The branches and flowers were not locally sourced or at least she never mentioned that. Most of the product used here traveled thousands of miles, flew across oceans, needed special handling and express delivery. So if sustainability is really the issue what about that environmental impact, all the carbon emissions that were created to the transport of the floral products from the grower to the florist.

I'm not sure luxury floral incorporates the emotional connection with important events by politicizing mechanics which should remain invisible. The Trojan horse is the volume of environmentally disruptive pesticides "required" to produce unblemished florals . Some one should tell her how played these weedy looking concepts actually are. Body and fresh aspects are on it though , just maybe stick with the plants wonderful filter qualities.
