    Probably the best bleach job I've seen and I am 46 years old and multi-racial. Use the exact same products including the coconut oil as a primer. Awesome job and video!!

    Do not manipulate your scalp before bleaching (this will cause aggravation such as burning). Front hairlines tend to process faster than other sections of the hair so those roots should be put on last. Another thing I wanted to point out is try your best not to have over and inch of regrowth. This will lead to uneven processing and banding of color. Both back sections should have been done before front. The back hair is dark so it's needs that extra time to process. Also you should always cover your bleach with a cap so that it doesn't dry out and it will also lift to a lighter blonde. Not sure if you did or not cause I couldn't tell but all toners go over towel dried/damp hair. And using the 20vol with your toner would have gotten rid of the banding from over lapping the bleach. Hope these tips or helpful :0)

      You are awesome. I'm not sure if you are a hair stylists or not. But I see so many bitter hair stylists on these videos only trying to find everything that was done wrong and telling them they should just go to a salon. Thank you for posting your tips in the comment section(: I haven't had the best luck with hair stylists and I really just enjoy doing my own hair. It's so hard to find someone who will give you advice without telling you to just go to a salon. I screen shotted your advice for myself(: I just spent 200$ for my hair to get done and she messed it up so bad so I am fixing it myself soon.

      +Megan Enriquez awww thanks sugar. And yes I am a stylist 18+ years behind the chair. I do know that not everyone can afford salon prices (including myself lol). I'm so glad you found my tips helpful. Also look into getting some Olaplex (Amazon has it). Adding it to your color and for at home treatments will benefit your hair from to much over processing.

    Natural black to blonde is so difficult!!! I applaud you!!! I have natural dark brown hair so it's not so hard. It was at first. But I'v been bleaching my hair since i was 14 and I'v finally found the perfect bleaching routine. 2 bleaches with 20 vol developer for an hour each time and this leaves my hair so perfect that I don't really even need a toner.but I still use manic panic virgin snow just to get some more whitish tones (not silver like wella t18 develops too fast and is too strong)

    • @aislingfox2676
      @aislingfox2676 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      you shouldn't bleach your hair twice in a short time, especially with a 20vol. also, you should never leave bleach in for an hour. after 40 minutes it stops lightening your hair and just starts eating away at your hair, damaging it.

    • @xXxLittlexMissxEMOxX
      @xXxLittlexMissxEMOxX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aisling Nic an tSionnaigh yeah i usually leave it on for 45 lol. idk why i said an hour. it's ok to bleach hair twice in a day. but it's a long process for me so it takes almost a week to do 2 bleaches. I'm really slow at applying bleach so i work 4 sections and do a section at a time. Rinse off and let air dry a bit, thn blow dry on low. Then I start on the next section and until all sections are bleached once then I will go in and do the second bleach. But even if somebody didn't do this it'd be ok to bleach twice in a day.

    • @aislingfox2676
      @aislingfox2676 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it if you like, but it isnt really okay to do it. In beauty school they teach you specifically never to bleach twice... bleaching should be done like monthly or something if you want to avoid damage. In hair salons, they will never bleach your hair twice. Even if your hair comes out an orange colour theyre still not allowed to bleach your hair again.

    • @xXxLittlexMissxEMOxX
      @xXxLittlexMissxEMOxX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Aisling Nic an tSionnaigh No professional would ever let you leave their salon with orange hair. In beauty school students are still learning how to handle bleach so you don't chemically burn your client or have all their hair fall out. I'v been bleaching my own hair for 5 years now so i know how to bleach it more than once without it all falling out and I'm sure most professional high end

    • @aislingfox2676
      @aislingfox2676 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they wont let you leave with orange hair. They use colour lifters and other methods to take the orange hue out, but they will NOT bleach it twice, theyre not allowed to do more than what theyre told to do.

  • @TravisJReed

    No reason to wait 1.5 weeks, your hair can't repair itself, damage is permanent, the only reason to wait even a day is to let your scalp calm down so the 2nd application doesn't hurt. The bleach needs to be put on thicker and you need to heat it up to make the hair absorb it deeper, just watch it so you don't over process. Your roots still look gold, you need to retone them or next time put the toner on just roots first, warm them up, then pull through the rest of your hair, start the application where the most yellow is and add to the least yellow last, no matter where it is on your head.

      Grace Gasbarra well your hair isn't like a broken bone that heals over time its 100% dead cells. So it's literally impossible for it to improve over time. It's like taking a hammer and beating the walls in your house and saying in a month they should be back to normal. All you're doing is putting conditioner on it for a month and all of the nutrients and oils in the conditioner is making it Feel better to the touch, obviously the longer you do that without chemically treating it the better it might feel. I can assure you it is not in better condition.

      Wrong olaplex repairs the hair so there is something that can repair your hair.

    • @MsPersoNatalie
      @MsPersoNatalie 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Alexis Hettinger Olaplex doesn't fix the hair, it just helps with the appearance. It's like a filler. It fills in the gaps and helps bring your hair back to life. You have to always use it, in order for it to continue looking nice.
      Treatments rock and they make life easier , however they don't fix your hair, they just help until you can cut the damage off.

      loftboy79 Totally wrong. I have dyed my hair so much and bleached it soo much. I used splat bleach (never do that!) and it completely fried my hair. It was in such horrible condition. All I did was put on some of the Aussie 3 minute miracle and that helped it a lot. My hair is no longer damaged. I atleast color my hair 2 times a month. Hair does heal.

    There are 10, 20, 30 or 40 Vol, the stronger the vol the faster the hair develop. If you lifting color is recommend it to use 20 vol and up, but if you are depositing ( coloring or toning ) you can use 20 vol and below

  • @bl6797

    One can only do this on very healthy very coarse hair usually found only on Hispanics or Asians.
    Please do not attempt to do this on dark brown or black Caucasian hair!
    Their hair is too fragile to withstand the damaging effects of bleach mixed with 30 volume or higher developer!
    If your Caucasian, it if you have fine hair please go to a color specialist who uses Olaplex, it's a new product which helps prevent damage and breakage
    in the hair.
    Btw I am a licensed cosmetologist and color specialist

    Hi Mimi,
    I helped my wife bleach her hair last night using BlondeMe 9 level lift with a 20 Volume Developer (from the same company)after her hair was saturated with coconut oil for 3hrs to prevent damage. All this was after using color remover a couple times over the past couple of weeks.
    The results have left us both panicking! :o
    Her hair is now light yellow near her roots which was grey before, but the top layer is bright orange with dark areas toward the back (which I see now takes much longer to process).
    The surface of her hair looks much like I saw in your video, except in reverse. The top layers of hair are deep orange with darker areas, whereas the bottom layers are now light yellow.
    What gave me hope in thinking that there may be a potential fix in correcting the mess I made was when I saw that the "brassiness" in her hair looks much like your hair did after your 1st processing in this video prior to your re-bleaching it.
    My question is:
    If I re-process, using the BlondeMe 9 level lift Bleach with a stronger 30 Developer this time (after again pre-treating her hair with the coconut oil), should I be able to get the lift needed to fix the orangey mess so that I can go on to successfully using a toner?
    We have the T18 Wella Ash Blonde, which is her goal for her ideal color.
    I'm new to this, and I don't want to destroy my wife's now (disaster looking) hair.
    We are going to wait just long enough for her scalp to recover from the itchiness before having another go at this.
    Would 25 - 30 minutes suffice Using a Volume 30 Developer with the BlondeMe product to get the lift necessary for her hair to be light enough for going with the T18 Wella Color Charm toner?
    Thanks for your help on this Mimi, or anyone who is in the know who can offer this urgently needed advice.
    My wife started going premature grey at the age of 15, and has been dying her hair black for many years. She has now decided to try and get her hair to a light ash grey, which appears to be closest to what will grow out from her roots when we are done. She's tired of having to dye her hair so often. Thanks again to anyone "in the know" for your advice.

    I have a big 2 pound container like yours but mine is the Redken flash lift bleaching powder and that stuff is amazing! My natural hair is dark like yours and I use it with 30 developer for a 50-60 minutes every 2-3 weeks and my hair is very beautiful blonde. I do it every 2 to 3 weeks so that I can always catch new roots coming out instead of bleaching it twice in one day. With that lil routine going very minimal brassy is ever visible. I love your hair btw:)!!

    • @ClaireNicole33
      @ClaireNicole33 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Lori K For the first time bleaching, I personally would do it twice with a 30 developer. I would wait a day between applications. I did a test using 40 developer vs 30 and saw no difference exept 40 damages your hair more.

    hey, I just wanted to let you know that if you do your new growth (roots) every 4 weeks, as opposed to waiting longer the roots will lighten faster and easier and you will help you get a more even color. also you can get a bottle at Sally's to apply the liquid toner easier. I don't know if you need a license to buy it but the aphogee 2 step treatment would help your hair a lot to prevent breakage. great job on not overlapping the bleach and having someone help. I'm a licensed professional who went from red to blonde.

    Important for ppl to know that on-the-scalp powder bleach should be used for this process & to put a bag over the hair to prevent drying of the bleach/peroxide, the body heat will help process. Be VERY careful as it can seriously burn your scalp, NEVER brush your hair/scalp before a chemical process. Also, when applying toner, you only want to deposit color so a 10 vol peroxide should be used... the higher the volume, the more it can damage the hair.

    little bit of advice for you - don't leave your hair for so long in between touchups, try not to leave it anymore than 4 weeks on hair as dark as yours. Doing it more often means there will be a more even lift and you won't get a gold band in your hair. Otherwise, an okay job :)

    Just as a suggestion, try to use a small whisk when you mix your bleach so you don't end up with dry clumps in your brush that will end up in your hair and cause spotting! where ever you got your developer and bleach (I'm assuming a sallys) will have the whisks (:

    I don't understand why you named your video " from black to blonde" since you are almost blonde in the first place, only your roots are black. And because it's your natural hair color, not died, it is easy to bleach it. If I bleach my natural hair, after 10 min my hair will be blonde, and not that brassy blonde. I was interested about how to get out a dark color from your hair with very little damage.

      Like everyone dyes their hair black? Mine is naturally black and I found it helpful. Maybe you need a video on how to get dye out of your hair. This video isn’t about that.

    How often do you do the roots? And do you still do the " wait 1 1/2 weeks before the second bleaching? And I want to do red (magenta) color instead of blonde, and how often do you wash it, and do you use dry shampoo?

    I think you wait far too long between bleaching/toning, you can already see the black again by the time you start the next process! You could use the coconut oil as a hair mask, melt it and put it in your hair and leave it as long as you can, normally over night, and it'll help repair your hair and you can bleach it again within 2 days so you don't have to go around with a horrible dark ginger/brown for 10 days

    My mum let me bleach my hair blonde and I had it bleached blonde, now going to be trimmed at the salon meaning for the last of the dye to be gone she is not letting me have it re-dyed. I have been really upset because before I dyed it blonde at the ends it was so ugly and I hated people seeing me like it so thanks to my mum I'm gonna be afraid and panic going outside

    Hi! I highly recommend the champagne toner by the brand "Blond" my roots were piss yellow and I put that all over and it toned it all evenly! ive seen no-one on youtube review it so you should try it out, all of the youtube community likes the wella t14/18 toners but I think they aren't as good as this one.

  • @saidymarzuniga769
    @saidymarzuniga769 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    omg we are the same! I leave only like 1 cm of roots though hun. The closer to the scalp, the less you have to bleach. I use redken 9V and 9T which is less harsh and tones a lot more for our harsh hair. It makes it WHITE and i love both toners With the wella though, I use a little drop (dime sized) of ash toner and it cancels out all warmth. I do 30 vol though bleaching. This time I tried another bleach and by far the powder is better and less drying. Did you try olaplex? It is amazing and my hair is down to my butt because of it. Beautiful hair! and you are right, you have to work fast with this toner. Sometimes I will use garnier fructis ash brown with clear, and the t18 together, that banishes ALL yellow and warmth. Regardless you look beautiful! I coconut my hair the previous two night before but sadly sometimes I get gold banding. Why do you not use a 40 bleach? have you tried it? Love this video, thank you!

And after they tone it...it's still kind of yellow/warm ....and they pull your hair way too hard and I swear every time they run their fingers/the brush though that they are breaking my hair plus my hair doesn't come out smooth and silky like yours 😨

    • @peter2918
      @peter2918 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Developer is the activator to help process the bleach. The higher percentage of developer used the higher the lift of colour as well as more damage. Its usually 10vol, 20vol, 30vol, and 40vol. If its your first time bleaching then i would suggest using 20 or 30 volume.
      Toner is basically to remove any brasiness. Usually when you have dark hair, you have red tones in it so then when you bleach it you can see the orangey colour like when she was doing in her second bleaching. You mix toner and developer and apply it for a few minutes to remove the brasiness. You can also get some purple shampoo to help.

    The reason why you have to bleach twice is cause your only using 20 volume which lifts 2 levels and your a level 2-3 so that takes it to a 5. You should use 30 and never leave it on for 60 minutes good lord. Your just going to keep frying your hair!

    • @kandisswilliams2719

    • @melissajkrebbs

      +jakil thomas the only reason to bleach hair before coloring is to apply the vivid colors such as purple, pink, blue..etc.
      even then I wouldn't try that by yourself. Please let a trained hairdresser help you and walk you thru the best process for your hair to maintain its integrity. Bleach, used the wrong way, can cause irreversible damage. Better to be safe then sorry😉. Happy hair days!💕
