Thank you for making this video. Love hearing success stories when it comes to beating cancer. Twenty years ago I kidney cancer and a golf ball sized tumor was removed with a partial nephrectomy of my right kidney. Recently my urologist recommended a biopsy after having an MRI with a PIRADS of 4. At my age of 77 I'm somewhat on the fence about it and also my PSAD is only .08.
After listening to your experience, I'm leaning towards a biopsy.
    Thanks again

With that level of PSA it could be just a benign prostatic enlargement I would ask for an MRI before the biopsy so they can Target any lesions that might be in your prostate without just poking holes in their blind I insisted that I had an MRI before biopsies and they were able to hit those targets and all of my biopsies were positive but one

Glad to hear that you're doing OK, and that you did not need the follow-up radiation. Not that salvage radiation would be so awful, if that was needed, but after what you went through, it is encouraging to hear that the surgery seems to have done a permanent fix. Side effects are a bummer, but way better than having cancer. Congratulations!

I liked your video. In 2019 my MRI showed a Pirads 1 (low risk) so we continued active surveillance. In 2022 I had another MRI which showed a Pirads 4. I had a targeted biopsy that showed a Gleason score of 3+4=7. Group two. Was considered favorable. I had my treatment plan determined years ago. Thanks to the Prostate Cancer Research Institute with Dr Mark Schultz and 20 years ago I went with my Dad for his prostate cancer treatment. So I had a lot of experience and research for the last 20 plus years. I went with the 5 high dose of SBRT radiation treatments. Which took two weeks (Every other day)
As a reminder if you have a Dad or brother who has or had prostate cancer, you are double the risk in getting it, so start being checked at age 40. (PSA, MRI, 4k blood test, PHI blood test)
Best of luck with your fight with pc.
      Duane

Just found your videos. Thank you for recording your journey. I like the idea of doing breathing exercises. I'll look into that. Like you, I made a lot of sudden changes in my diets and habits. I'm down to 349 pounds from 380 pounds at the start of this journey.

Im in the process of deciding on how i want to treat my PC. Its side effects no matter what. Its a crap shoot. Its localized in my Prostate so i may just get it removed. Im 57yrs old ... Gleason 8 . Its so much to think about and decide. Good luck and God Bless you 🙏

I was 57 when I had my surgery 2019 I'm in really good shape now still having some pain issues from other problems and have come upon this wondrous drug called trimix but you have to inject it and well it brings back intimacy to the bedroom so I'm pretty happy about that thanks for going much better I still don't have a whole lot of stamina do a lot of exercise and a lot of cold therapy and breathing and stuff. Good luck on your journey keep me posted and let me know what you decide for treatment and how things go for you

thank you for all the information , I have watched all the prostate cancer videos before and post surgery. I feel exactly the same as you before surgery. had 20 core biopsy and found I have 2 cores Gleason 4+3 and 2 cores Gleason 3+4 and also urinary problems wake up 4 to 5 times at night and start stop flow, , PSA = 7. and also biopsy report says Perineural Invasion . Still do not dare to have the surgery . Thank you again for videos and hope your PSA stays low beat the cancer and enjoy a long life.

I’m two weeks post surgery… thanks for the videos of your journey. I had the same numbers as you…Gleason 4+3=7. I’m also 56 when diagnosed! I elected for surgery without consulting radiation Dr for alternative treatments. My dad died from this same cancer and went with the radiation option. They didn’t get it all. So far, pathology was good, lymph nodes were clear and cancer was localized within margins. It was close to the nerve as well, I will have to wait and see what my blood test will show. It’s interesting how much we talk about the numbers, the process, the options, the side effects, recovery etc… not much out there discussing the emotional trauma that comes with disease and treatment… I didn’t expect the grief and sense of loss that comes with it… a different kind of pain but lingering longer and in some ways harder than the physical pain. Is this something you experienced too? Anyway, I’m glad to see you doing so well after 5 years… Inspirational really!

Hey Dan thanks for your reply I've dealt with the emotional stuff and it's been pretty rough having had a very healthy sex life it was hard to have that be absolutely non-existent they kind of tore me up on the left side there I've got some weird nerves Sensations burning and tingling on the left side of my groin that never goes away dealing with the impotence for 4 years and losing length and girth the fear of it coming back Etc but yeah we finally went with the trimix and that stuff works sometimes a little too good I'm being quite an emotional creature that I am and being severely ADHD I tend to ruminate about things so yeah the emotional part of this disease is definitely the hardest part for me the physical was no picnic either hang in there buddy keep me posted on your progress. I'm sorry I hope you can figure out where the sentences start and end I don't punctuate very good

Very happy to hear your success story sir, my question is doctor didn't recommend for a radition therapy or chemotherapy even after finding the Perineural Invasion, is it applicable even for breast cancer, am asking this question because there's very limited information about the perineural invasion and especially PNI in breast cancer, kindly reply with any information you have about perineural Invasion

I don't know how to compare with breast cancer. All I know in my case. They did take some of the nerve on the left side of my prostate.
But After they sent it off to the lab. There was no cancer found in the nerve area so they tried to spare as much as they could as far as nerves. I hope that helps you I know in my case. The reason they want to spare the nerves is so that I can have use as a male again. I don't know how that works. With the nerves in your breasts. I'm sorry. But I will say that There is nerve damage from my Surgery nothing I can't live with
