Mali trade is the best i'm just gonna say it. It takes the smallest time to ramp up cause you get frickin 50% more gold than usual and you get 30% of you trade gold as food with the sahara trade network. So you can keep 7 vils on food the entire match and the rest on gold and keep pumping out traders to match a 3TC eco in no time it's crazy. Plus if you make the farrimba garrison you can use that surplus gold to wreak havoc on your enemy and make the necessary sacrifices to please the dark lord Cthulhu of course.

I've really been loving the Malians. It's true that they are squishy but towards the end you can delete or sacrifice villagers and have a bigger army which helps. Not to mention the seige party with culverins, mangonel s and bombards.
Malians are not squishy. They are very good in feudal, even without trade. Javelin throwers are OP

I'm amused that the game was so one sided, yet Szalami never even attacked. He just unlocked the infinite resources and reaped the boom until Valdemar accepted that the game was over.
you can tell that Vald's APM isnt as high and skill level just isnt matched

It’s sorta like water maps. If your opponent has a dock down, you should probably have a dock down too. They’re creating a better secondary villager, like a fishing boat out of a non-TC, the market.
well yes and no, with a dock you literally need your own dock to even threaten the fishing ships with military.

I had a match as the chinese against the malians on Alti. I denied the trade post on their side of a map with a barbican only for them to trade with the one next to my base. Didn't discover it til gg but it's a strat in gold/plat at least

its nice and i will give it a try. but i wonder if the Malian would have had a chance vs Men-At-Arms. The Chinese composition was the worse you could hope for. in my Malians games, all opponents pump MAAs like there are no tomorrow.
If they go MAA, then build Musofadi warriors. They trade very cost effectively against them since they have bonus vs heavy. Check out MrMerlin's video posted today of Szalami doing Mali trade against HRE if you want to see the Musofadi warriors

There is no way to win against Malian Trade nowadays... like you can try to distlrupt and kill their traders but you are not gaining any resources by doing so, but the Malian cam continously keep making traders and still age up with infinite food and gold. Only way is to start trading yourself as soon as you see Malian trading and go to Castle age... put keep on their side of market.

Didn`t know tournament rules where against early stone walls, I'm quite disappointed! I mean, i expect the best players in the world to come up with some way to deal with it! But now that i`m thinking of, this rule exist to avoid games becoming too long and stale... but still... disappointed!
But there's nothing to do against it lol the stone walls don't go down without seige. Stone walls in feudal make the game ridiculously boring
