Kim sung this song at Dreamworld in suburb of Coomera, on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Interesting enough it was performed not that far from Redcliffe, where the song's original performers and writers were from; I'm talking about the Bee-Gees. Remember Kim picking up an framed award for her Greatest Hits album too that night (which she was rather chuffed about). Unfortunately the awards show was up against the 3hr season finale of Hey Hey its Saturday on Channel 9 which trounced the TV ratings that evening. It was quite common for the performers to sing live in awards shows back then. And still is in Australia. Kim did the song proud, it was a very strong rendition as with all her covers she has done over the years.
I cannot stop admiring the professionalism of the background singer at 2:58. She nearly topples the mic, gets it back and is immediately back in her choreography and singing. 💪🏻👍🏻

I f'ing knew it, because the drum beat does not match the drummers actions! "A little later in the show, she sings 'If I can't have you' live to a recorded backing track." I hate how Aussie music TV did this all the time, remember when Cold Chisel refused to perform because they were told they couldnt play live?
I don't recall the performance so I'm guessing it was late 80s / early 90s. Kim was obviously kicking butt and enjoying herself, while on the other side of the Pacific Belinda Carlisle was going through hell. I'm thrilled that they both survived the meat grinder and emerged confident, mature women.
