- If you want to build your own tire carrier then this hinge kit is a must! There are many options out there, but none compare to this. This is the most well though out and developed hinge system on the market. We have made multiple revisions of this product over the years to off the most complete and high quality tire carrier hinge at an affordable price point. It is CNC machined in our shop from heavy wall DOM tubing made in the U.S.
Standard Features include a 1-1/4" diameter shaft, dual-tapered-roller bearings , grease seal, dust cap, castle nut and cotter pin. Also included are two zerk fittings for grease to ensure a long trouble free life. The zerk fittings are strategically placed so that grease is applied directly to the bearings. This will make your job much easier and first rate quality. Once installed, your hinge system is fully sealed and impervious to the elements.
This is our standard duty single shear hinge kit. This is a very strong unit, however, it you plan on running large tires or adding accessories to your swing away tire carrier system we recommend checking out our other tire carrier hinges. We also offer this size in a dual shear design as well as other heavy duty hinges for the ultimate in strength.

“Top”! double bearings, grease seals, grease fittings, bottom where the stress and weight is is “sleeve”!
I dont understand this how do you hold bottom of pin from swinging and ths using the bearings . drop in pin and swing on pin?????
When you weld the sleeve in... you are holding the spindle to set height. The heat creates shrinkage and that locks it as one. Additionally I personally drill 2-3 holes in the sleeve for plug welds, and then the spindle bottom and sleeve, weld together. I only use Jared's larger 1.75 big one, in dual shear though. But same same.
Will that hold up to a 33x12.50 x18 inch tire holder. Can u post a link to buy one

@@stevelewis7225 he is closed. The website was set up to automatically take payments... not closing THAT down was a glitch, not ill intent.
Literally came here to warn people not to buy from comp 4x4. Honestly not sure if they're even still operating at all, but they will email you when you've placed an order. And then proceed to never send you the shipment or reply to reachouts. At best they're terrible at communicating. At worst, they're dishonest and steal people's money.
Don't bother with them, go with 4x4 innovations, barnes, or one of the other sites that have a more established reputation.
Jared is an awesome guy, and through ALL my business dealings with him... went above and beyond. I do not know the circumstance behind his vanishing and closure... but I cannot believe it was malevolent.
@@GotScout I mean, he may have done good business in the past. But leaving an operational website with emails confirming orders, with no intention to ship said orders, is by definition malevolent and dishonest.
