Would you be more pissed if you bought it at $1000 and sold at $14,000? Because that’s what I did. There’s always another trade my friend , don’t get too frustrated because you missed this one . March 2020 I sold my rhodium when the price was $14,000 an ounce now it’s close to 30,000 but I put that money into silver at $17 an ounce so I’ve still doubled my money no matter how you look at it. It can be frustrating thinking about what should and could have been but I promise There is an opportunity for you somewhere out there you just need to find it research it, make a strategy and execute.. Today the price is $6900 I plan to sell out at 7800$ + ... I told myself no higher than 8K I told myself no higher than 8K. The more parabolic the move the more likely it is to crash back down. It looks like history is repeating itself I don’t wanna get caught in the crash

You and I bought at about the same time and for the same reason. This metal has a history of skyrocketing every 10 years or so. All you have to do, is buy it after a crash, hold onto it, and potential make 1000% in ten years by just waiting. By the way, we're at around 500% as of this week, and the shortage curve is becoming obvious. No two booms/busts are the same, so it's possible this is already the peak, and it's also possible it'll go *way* past $10,000 before the peak.

Rhodium production is almost a constant - so constant, you can say it's 750 thousand ounces per year, and never be very wrong. Unlike other metals, it really can't be mined faster since it's a mining byproduct and very few mines produce it in significant quantities. Demand continues to increase every year, and particularly now with a good worldwide economy. If you think the world economy is going to crash soon, think about what that will do to rhodium. If you think gas powered auto sales are going to collapse soon, ditto. But otherwise, if the world economy remains strong another year, we could see $10,000 again.
I finally bought my first rhodium now that it's under $5k. I wish I could have got in at $1k like you. The spreads are still insane, but I'm a long term holder. I've heard projections of over $60k per ozt, but you never know.

I bought at 1000$ an ounce sold at 8500$ an ounce . Just so you know once the price starts to skyrocket it becomes harder to sell as the market is so narrow rhodium sponge is a little easier to sell closer to spot when you eventually get your upside swing.

Your $7500 target is probably not bad for a low end. I think it would still be over that, if not for the 2008 financial implosion. I've tried calling Kitco, and Liberty Metals, but they only purchase rhodium they originally sold. I reached out to JM, but they weren't very interested in dealing with me, since I wasn't the original buyer. Did I just lose $4,000? If I can sell it at the spot price now, then I stand to triple my investment. I'd really appreciate any advice that anyone here might offer.

(in California money type metals are only taxed IF total purchase is under 1500 ....another way of rewarding the rich and screwing the poor it seems like to me) I ask because paying sales tax or "use tax" is a deal killer if you ask me ...I mean when one is already paying a healthy premium over spot then adding sales tax on top of that just diminishes the chances one will realize any significant profit except over the long haul....and worse is salt in the wound if one has to liquidate in a down market for the stuff
Great Video man. Its 2020 & I'm just now seeing it. And Wow today (Feb 21, 2020) Rhodium hit $11,100 per Troy Oz. Man that's Crazy. I can tell theirs a huge demand for it today just by how much it's gone up. And it's kind of weird to me how Gold is way higher than Platinum is as far as price per Oz. Today Gold is around $1,600+ per Oz and Platinum is only $973.00 per Oz. I've been told Platinum is more scarce compared to Gold. And another thing that seems weird to me is that Silver seems So under priced. Its considered a Precious metal but today at $18+ per Oz. It just seems way Low compared to the other precious metals. Silver is my favorite by far & it's used in So much stuff. One day Silver will be Scarce. As far as Rhodium goes, I wish I could of got sum when it was around $900 per troy Oz.

It's certainly a rare element, but I wouldn't say it's the second rarest. For instance Francium and protactinium have an incredibly low abundance on the earth and francium itself is near unobtainable.

It costs money to mine. I heard of a story where a company was selling shares of silver based on what was believed to be in the mine, because the cost of mining was too high. This reason, among others is a great arguement for having your metals in your control.

I checked few days ago it was worth around 5k! The price was bubbled partially driven by a high demand for autos pre 2008 financial collapse. Also a lot of those vehicles were bigger using more rhodium in there converters than smaller cars. Pre financial crisis gasoline was much cheaper 2$ a gallon give or take in Cali 06

I sold some recently with the price around 13,000 but the dealers will not give you that much . Kitco stopped buying. With the illness in China their demand for autos has collapsed as well as European demand. 80% of rhodium use is for catalytic converter‘s in cars. With the drop in car buying there will be a drop in price soon the recent spike that took rhodium from 12,000 to over 13,000 was because a Mine closed The price is set in London and there is no real control over what it is at any given time
Sell it while you still can at a premium price. Same goes for Palladium and Platinum because all these metals will sell for dirt cheap 5 years from now. With Electric Vehicles replacing fossil fuels, no one would need catalytic converters in the future. Gold and Silver are the only precious metals worth owning as an investment.

I can’t say for sure if I were you I’d just be sure to buy on a dip. The price fluctuates a lot you might be able to get it around 1000$ again but I don’t know I have t kept up with news in South Africa where most rhodium comes from
It's hard to say. It's gone over $5000/ounce more than once, but consider also that in the late 70s, it was around $700, which if adjusted for inflation, would be about $3000 today, so it's till not expensive by historical standards. What you need to try to understand, is why has it been going up? The two reasons are worldwide economic improvements, but more importantly, political instability in South Africa, which is the main source of it. Do you really want to invest in rhodium mining in a nation that is openly talking about uncompensated land confiscation? No...which is why the metal already mined is going up in value.
~$7000 now. The idea of selling is a temptation, but I have a habit of selling investments right before the price takes off. Wife says I should sell enough to recoup our original capital, but to me, that seems like a mental gimmick. Pigs get slaughtered, yes, but so do sheep. Deciding when to take profits is always hard. I'm no expert, but so far I've been right on this and for the right reasons, and if that's not just luck, rhodium is going to hit $15,000 to $20,000 in the next six months. Nothing has changed except that rhodium demand keeps increasing. Palladium is also skyrocketing as a replacement for rhodium, but there are applications where palladium won't work. I recently sold palladium and bought platinum, because platinum can replace palladium industrially, and has not experienced the big run up (yet). Keep in mind that the platinum group metals are mostly a byproduct of silver mining, and silver is in the dumps. This is why they are skyrocketing - there is less incentive to mine silver, just as world demand for catalytic converters is exploding.
I’m so grateful for this, you and I are thinking about a lot of the same things right now I want to sell also but currently the situation in South Africa is not good there are power outages causing the Mines to lose 15 to 25% production. There is no replacement to rhodium and it is being used in auto demand so as long as the auto demand doesn’t crash the price shouldn’t drop below 5K soon. I researched the main companies that produce rhodium and all of them have been taking hits in production this year so supplies will be short. Also the main reason rhodium is supply is low is because the price of platinum is sub $1000 rhodium is a byproduct of platinum mining so until the platinum price sores I don’t see rhodium slowing down immediately either. Lastly rhodium is not treated on the paper market so no one can short it! I will be selling soon but I am being patient because these factors are influencing the price so much I’m gonna make a new video about this this week so thank you for your comment and please subscribe so you can see my update on rhodium

I wish I had bought at $575 too. Instead, I bought at about $900, and watched my money cut almost in half ....but didn't sell, because both supply and demand are cyclical. It has industrial uses, so there is demand correlated to the economic cyles, but it's also inversely correlated to silver, because it's a byproduct of silver production. You just have to wait for the perfect storm when no-one wants silver, and the economy is good, like now. Silver mining drops, so rhodium production drops, just as demand is high.

you clearly never study the cycles. But that is ok. You bought it at a good price as I did too. But at a different year. I am selling next year. You really need to learn the cycles. If you need help I charge 1000$ to indicate the month to sell the metal in 2019. I also give you the right time to buy it back years later. I bought in January 2017 and that was the right turning point as you can see.

(in California money type metals are only taxed IF total purchase is under 1500 ....another way of rewarding the rich and screwing the poor it seems like to me) I ask because paying sales tax or "use tax" is a deal killer if you ask me ...I mean when one is already paying a healthy premium over spot then adding sales tax on top of that just diminishes the chances one will realize any significant profit except over the long haul....and worse is salt in the wound if one has to liquidate in a down market for the stuff
Great Video man. Its 2020 & I'm just now seeing it. And Wow today (Feb 21, 2020) Rhodium hit $11,100 per Troy Oz. Man that's Crazy. I can tell theirs a huge demand for it today just by how much it's gone up. And it's kind of weird to me how Gold is way higher than Platinum is as far as price per Oz. Today Gold is around $1,600+ per Oz and Platinum is only $973.00 per Oz. I've been told Platinum is more scarce compared to Gold. And another thing that seems weird to me is that Silver seems So under priced. Its considered a Precious metal but today at $18+ per Oz. It just seems way Low compared to the other precious metals. Silver is my favorite by far & it's used in So much stuff. One day Silver will be Scarce. As far as Rhodium goes, I wish I could of got sum when it was around $900 per troy Oz.
You’re right my friend this is a crazy time I made an update video for rhodium recently. I just sold some for a little less than $10,000 and bought platinum coins with it as well as paid for some bills. Now that it’s over 10,000 it’s getting difficult to sell the spread is very big on the price $1200 bid verse ask. I still have one bar of rhodium for the long-haul. I have been accumulating Gold and Silver since 2012
William Mann. Hello! My uncle and brother mine down deep at their fort up north and am sure they are mining this alloy. They both work at mines up north and come back to mine some more on their own on days off. Think it is rhodium because have seen their texts on all their phones. Mabe some titanium also.

For instance Francium and protactinium have an incredibly low abundance on the earth and francium itself is near unobtainable.

I thought about buying rhodium and palladium a few years ago but i stuck with silver since i thought it had the biggest upside potential. It's easy to believe, because the heaviest metals as part of a liquid would surely sink toward the earth's core.
It costs money to mine. I heard of a story where a company was selling shares of silver based on what was believed to be in the mine, because the cost of mining was too high. This reason, among others is a great arguement for having your metals in your control.

I checked few days ago it was worth around 5k! The price was bubbled partially driven by a high demand for autos pre 2008 financial collapse. Also a lot of those vehicles were bigger using more rhodium in there converters than smaller cars. Pre financial crisis gasoline was much cheaper 2$ a gallon give or take in Cali 06
Many diesel engines started using scr technology in 2008 which uses catylitic converters.

I sold some recently with the price around 13,000 but the dealers will not give you that much . Kitco stopped buying. With the illness in China their demand for autos has collapsed as well as European demand. 80% of rhodium use is for catalytic converter‘s in cars. With the drop in car buying there will be a drop in price soon the recent spike that took rhodium from 12,000 to over 13,000 was because a Mine closed The price is set in London and there is no real control over what it is at any given time

I can’t say for sure if I were you I’d just be sure to buy on a dip. The price fluctuates a lot you might be able to get it around 1000$ again but I don’t know I have t kept up with news in South Africa where most rhodium comes from

It's hard to say. It's gone over $5000/ounce more than once, but consider also that in the late 70s, it was around $700, which if adjusted for inflation, would be about $3000 today, so it's till not expensive by historical standards. What you need to try to understand, is why has it been going up? The two reasons are worldwide economic improvements, but more importantly, political instability in South Africa, which is the main source of it. Do you really want to invest in rhodium mining in a nation that is openly talking about uncompensated land confiscation? No...which is why the metal already mined is going up in value.

~$7000 now. The idea of selling is a temptation, but I have a habit of selling investments right before the price takes off. Wife says I should sell enough to recoup our original capital, but to me, that seems like a mental gimmick. Pigs get slaughtered, yes, but so do sheep. Deciding when to take profits is always hard. I'm no expert, but so far I've been right on this and for the right reasons, and if that's not just luck, rhodium is going to hit $15,000 to $20,000 in the next six months. Nothing has changed except that rhodium demand keeps increasing. Palladium is also skyrocketing as a replacement for rhodium, but there are applications where palladium won't work. I recently sold palladium and bought platinum, because platinum can replace palladium industrially, and has not experienced the big run up (yet). Keep in mind that the platinum group metals are mostly a byproduct of silver mining, and silver is in the dumps. This is why they are skyrocketing - there is less incentive to mine silver, just as world demand for catalytic converters is exploding.
I’m so grateful for this, you and I are thinking about a lot of the same things right now I want to sell also but currently the situation in South Africa is not good there are power outages causing the Mines to lose 15 to 25% production. There is no replacement to rhodium and it is being used in auto demand so as long as the auto demand doesn’t crash the price shouldn’t drop below 5K soon. I researched the main companies that produce rhodium and all of them have been taking hits in production this year so supplies will be short. Also the main reason rhodium is supply is low is because the price of platinum is sub $1000 rhodium is a byproduct of platinum mining so until the platinum price sores I don’t see rhodium slowing down immediately either. Lastly rhodium is not treated on the paper market so no one can short it!

I wish I had bought at $575 too. Instead, I bought at about $900, and watched my money cut almost in half ....but didn't sell, because both supply and demand are cyclical. It has industrial uses, so there is demand correlated to the economic cyles, but it's also inversely correlated to silver, because it's a byproduct of silver production. You just have to wait for the perfect storm when no-one wants silver, and the economy is good, like now. Silver mining drops, so rhodium production drops, just as demand is high.
