I have the same problem in Texas with overheating on my cameras so I have to plan my videos to be shorter. If I run them at 1080P HDR there is no overheating at all. On my R7 4k 60, 30 or 24 in the NTSC settings gives me the longest time before overheating but if I do the 4k fine than it starts giving me warnings after 15 minutes. I have the 40mm lens on the Nikon and Sony and quite like the smaller pancake size lens for my video. Easy to travel with and yes I do a lot of street and forest photography/video. I got this lens when it first came out, when i had a 80D. Never really bothered using it over the years with newer cameras like my 5D3/4 and M50, but ive ‘rediscovered’ it since getting my R7. l love the RF 50 f/1.8 but its just a bit too long for shooting when in a crowd. The 40mm is getting me closer until i can afford the RF 35 f/1.8. Shame its AF is a bit slow. Cant wait for Canon to release a RF 32 f/1.4. I love the M version sooooo much.

this is an amazing lens and I have mine mounted on my Canon 1DX MK III ..... plain and simple with amazing results !!!
