  • SolarisFloat has developed an innovative floating solar solution that is unlike the many being installed in water bodies around the world. With single or dual axis tracking, the floating island is powered by electric engines that consume less than zero point five percent of the total energy produced. the installation, named Protevs, is the first to merge floating solar panels with Sun tracking technology.
    The island is currently floating in Oostvoorne Meer, a lake in the southwest Netherlands. Comprising 180 mobile solar panels, Protevs has a total installed capacity of 73 kilowatts of peak power and provides an increase in energy production by up to 40 percent, thanks to its sophisticated technology that permits its double sided panels to turn according to the Sun's movement.

    Hi all; using a bit of "further" lateral thinking here; since the panels and floating "bases" are mounted on floating individually sized "array-pontoons"; and no matter how calm the weather is;
    there will always be some movement generated by the surface water.....What if; the Pontoons themselves serves as: "Water-Wave"; electricity generators....sourced from the Waves from the
    Lake/Sea, Water....
    That way; you can get energy from the SUN and the water wave from underneath! Thus; gaining "Free"; energy from two Completely different sources at once!
    Here is a Primer; if U need any pointers in that direction!
    Sea Wave Energy Ltd
    Sea wave energy limited (SWEL) is a R&D company based in Cyprus & the UK.
    We focused on the design and development of its wave energy converters. (WEC).
    The “Wave Line Magnet”, a wave energy converter.
    N.B. Weather permitting of course......
