Great job by all in trying to pull off the convincing number to get her to believe the Shady Rest had all that Uncle Joe said in the brochure. Liked Kate's reaction when the phone went off the 1st time, she told Uncle Joe to "get the gun, it was a rattler." And Kate's quick thinking of a storm & down power lines when Ms. Stroud wanted to make a call to Chicago. Again a great job by them all in convincing Ms. Stroud. I also liked when Uncle Joe was romancing Ms. Stroud, the girls said they wanted to listen...Kate said "You are not going to listen like common snoops, you'll do it like ladies with your mother along." Nice enjoyable episode.

I am sure you will love her as Blanche Morton on the Burns & Allen shows. Bea is such a fabulous & talented actress & I love her no matter what role she is playing. She is the heart & soul of Petticoat Junction. I am sure she is in heaven smiling with knowing that she is still loved & bringing so much joy into peoples lives even to this day.

The show is about a pretty woman who has 3 good looking daughters that are all fully dressed without things flopping or bursting out their dresses. And it is far better than anything today.
🎚️ I love the elevator in the elk hotel downtown in Rochester they haven't fixed it in 10 years or more I just love that elevator I used to live there it's a old fashioned kind 😭

Around 15:15 I noticed that neither Kate nor Joe left the desk & headed for the kitchen... I wonder did Mrs. Stroud ever get her warm milk? Again I liked the scene with Joe romancing Mrs. Stroud & the girls wanted to listen... Kate told them they were not going to listen like common snoops, they were going to listen like ladies with their mother along.
Mrs. Strout is from the Andy G. show when they were selecting Miss Mayberry she was the 1 whos daughter lost most of her baby fat and most likel to B come charming ! thanx
That room everyone was making Mrs. Stroud believe the bowling alley, ice skating rink, swimming pool and steam rooms were in would become something in the final two seasons of petticoat junction, as Dr. Janet Craig's office, also for the swimming pool, I think they should've used the Cannonball's water tower, since the girls always took a swim in the water tower

Kate was smart and could have run that hotel on her own...she didn't need Joe there. He never helped her out, anyway; all he did was mooch. He hid when work was needed to be done.Kate and the girls did all the work.Kate just needed wider scale advertising of the hotel. It would appeal to traveling adults who wanted a stay at an isolated hotel in the country with peace and quiet, and good hearty meals.
Loved this show so much. I noticed Uncle Joe said Kate was the girls aunt, did he just say that to the lady from the newspaper? Uncle Joe and Kate both passed away from lung cancer. Google the show and you’ll find lots of interesting info. Sharon Tate was supposed to be one of the daughters. In the theme song 🎶 It was run by Kate🎶 after she passed the lyrics were changed to 🎶 It’s run by Joe 🎶 . Loved the theme song which was sung by Flatt & Scruggs and also the theme song to Beverly Hillbillies. Ok I’m done 😉

I thought so too until I started watching the series. Technically the Shady Rest is just out in the boondocks, Hooterville is 20 some miles in one direction and Pixley they're always mentioning is a little more than that in the opposite direction. The water tower the girls bathe in was for powering the steam train. There was a control than the train personnel used to jerk in the old days to get the water going to the train. That's how the expression "jerk water town" came to be. Sometimes little villages sprang up around the water towers in the days of steam trains.
That wasn't drinking water, it was water used for the train. Older type trains had to use water to cool the engines. It wasn't drinking water. Whoever told you it was, they were wrong!
Something I just now noticed. When Kate read the brochure that she had written, it said every room with private bath, so why was that guy in Mrs Strout's bathroom?

How refreshing to watch a clean an peaceful oldie but goodie

This was an excellent television series.
True but its better not to limit improvements Oh Gawd
I like this when I was little . Still do.
Loved this show, and like every teenage boy, kept a close eye on the three females. Clean humor.

Hey i like all of them great movies... Thanks
Excellent. More of these kind of movies any time all the time. Great TV series also.

Absolutely! Love her!
love that theme song music

Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres were the best sitcoms CBS ever did. Bobbie Jo was really pretty. Even in a housecoat.
Bobbie Jo ( Pat Woodall) was the prettiest I thought
She was the prettiest one of all of them
Petticoat Junction so far out weighs Beverly Hillbillies that they can't even be compared!
Dehydrated Water was
And the Andy Griffith show (the best 4 sitcoms on youtube)
Clean.
Proper.
Imagine if The Shady Rest was real. With those three daughters there, a man would check in and never want to leave.
so, this explains my fixation with skirts, slips, dresses and petticoats!
Cute show funny and entertaining
Wonderful episode… I don’t remember seeing theses early shows. The shows I recall were later with two of the three sisters replaced.
Bored with Netflix, watching Petticoat Junction instead!!

Love this! Thank you Pizza Flix :)
I would like to be Uncle Joe. He had it made at the Shady Rest.

I never knew there were 3 Billie Joe's, 2 Bobby Joe's but only 1 Betty Joe!
Classic comedy.
Kate tells her girls: "Uncle Joe is to young to go steady." This line made me laugh.

I HAVE THE WHOLE MUNSTERS,AND ADDAMS FAMILY,& ARE YOU BEING SERVED SERIES,ALREADY.
She was also cousin pearl on the Beverly hillbillies.
I like the show though
As a young boy, I had a crush on tomboyish Bobbie Jo. Love that she operated the locomotive.
Betty Jo was running the Cannonball.
@@rotunda57 Thank you. Yes. Played by Linda Kaye Henning.
How come Holly Wood women with black hair were knock-out gorgeous back then, and the blondes still got all the attention.

They say that both Bea and Edgar had hilariously funny potty-mouths in real-life
Having a potty mouth is NEVER funny
20:20 Must have been sweeps week.

Yes Henriettas mother
Bea Benaderet had bad cancer while filming this. She tried to be there but it killed her. :(
" Whitey" from the East Side Kids/Bowery Boys @ 8:35 I believe?

Laurie Saunders was the best.
She wasn't in the first two seasons, but I definitely liked her! Jeanine Riley was my all time favorite, though!
Bea would have been Ethel Mertz but she had a contract with George and Gracie.

Something I just now noticed. When Kate read the brochure that she had written, it said every room with private bath, so why was that guy in Mrs Strout's bathroom?
Each floor had its own bath.
The DVD release has some weird hillbilly sounding instrumental as the theme song. Music rights has something to do with that travesty.
