I'm a 48 year old Chicago Firefighter who travels down to Florida at least three times a year with the wife and We really enjoy visiting "Old Florida" the most! We spend our time at Weeki Wachee, Silver Springs, Ginnie Springs, The Venetian Pool and quite a few other cool spots! Heading down to Cape Coral for a few days in two weeks. So sorry for your loss. So glad I found your channel ! I am a native... 4 th generation. I was born in Clearwater. My mom was raised in Safety Harbor. My grandma was raised in Tarpon Springs, great grandma was the first female to work at the Tarpon chamber and thats where everyone is buried. Sad to say I too am moving from the Treasure Coast( been in the same house for 32 years) The area has grown too much for me and I inherited the house my father built in the foothills of the Smokies. Your videos take me back to old Florida, the one my family has loved for generations. I look forward to watching all of videos and want to thank you for showing people what Real Florida is.
I know it's hard to move, I have done it three times in the past 12 years, but in my case distance was the factor. I moved from Nebraska to Arizona, and eventually to Virginia where I currently reside. My moving days may not be over, my wife fell in love with Savannah, Georgia, so that may be a possibility in the near future. Love your channel Jay, and keep up the good work on your further travels, look forward to them.

The old folks moved the family to St. Pete when I was a preteen. I graduated from Boca Ciega in 1978, moved here in 1981, and have been here ever since. My brothers and I were all born in Chicago.
I went to a high school where the eagle was our mascot as well, but the colors were orange and blue, and i couldn't stand that but i have since converted to A Florida gator and i love the colors, and moving can be bad, but it can also enrich an evolve you, helping you to move forward were you need to.
I had a feeling your Mom would move back to Indiana after your Dad passed. It is good for her to be close to her family, but I know this all is hard on you. I hope you enjoy your new place and new adventures! By the way, we lived in Ocala (technically Silver Springs Shores) from 1980-1988 and went to Lake Weir in Ocklawaha many times. Our son, who was age 2-8 when we lived there, called it Oklawahaha and we always thought that was so funny!

Personally, I consider it all Tampa. P.S. I'm from Indiana too! Born in Hammond, but also lived in Indianapolis. My family moved a lot for my father's job. I went to 11 different schools in 7 different states growing up. It was an adventure for sure!
