I couldn't believe my eyes! My parents bought me a small projector and cartoons for Christmas in 1948. I was 4 years old. This cartoon was my favorite, and I must have watched it a hundred times. It was produced by Castle Films, edited to about 30 second shorter than this and was silent with sub-titles.By the mid-fifties the projector and cartoons were long gone, and I have searched for this cartoon ever since just for the memories it would produce. I never had any luck until today when the clock literally rewound 67 years! Many thanks for posting this.

I love b&w cartoons, but am really sorry this fine toon wasn't in color. The dream bookland was SO well designed, I don't remember every seeing anything like it. I loved that shot of the giant sticking his head out of the book, It reminded me of the scene in Sctappy's _Sunday Clothes_ where the Italian guy sticks his head out of the manhole in the sea of mud., The Cat firing musical notes that turned into bullets was great. They LOVED to fill the air with bullets over at TerryToons, although Disney's fabulous Musicland REALLY weaponized musical instruments.
