I am not one to sit and listen to interviews but this one had me mesmerized. Even the way in which The Gargamel spoke sounded like music to my ears. I love a man with an excellent command of the English Language who can also flip it and use the Jamaican patois. What a sweet sinting! Seani B was excellent; loved the fluidity of his questions and guiding of the interview. Blessed Love.
First watched the Onstage Interview and Mr. Winford did a hack job on that. He was ill prepared for it. Now, this interview with Seani B is a classic. The way Buju Banton was animated and smiling and getting to the roots and history of the music and digging out the anecdotes really says a lot about Seani B being a music man and talking music with Gargamel. Seani made it look so easy but he did a fabulous job. I guess his immersion in the music snd knowledge of it made this a musical conversation. It's been my biggest secret when I got the thumbs up call in the middle of January. Since that time I was in full research mode. I listened again to all the Buju albums. I watched whatever footage I could find online. I read many transcribed interviews too. So to see the response makes me know all that had work from myself and Ray Paul who produced the programmes has been noted. My aim is to bring balance of how this music is represented in the mainstream. Also to make sure the core audience is given quality programming. Fingers crossed WE are achieving that. I also watched the onstage interview with Winfred and as everyone can attest..this interview with BBC1 extra brought out a more positive and a more mature side to buju ..which of course thats what he wants to portray moving forward. Watched this interview multiple times..love love love it.. I also watched the onstage interview with Winfred and as everyone can attest..this interview with BBC1 extra brought out a more positive and a more mature side to buju ..which of course thats what he wants to portray moving forward. Notice how his eyes lit up and how engaging he was throughout the entire interview ..discussing he humble beginnings and the respect factor that should also be maintain and given to the predecessor of reggae music. He did his time.we are not dwelling there..I dont think any of buju fans are interested in how he spent his time away..No...let him focus and be engaging on the positive vibes and the new chapter he is writing and will continue to write moving fwd. Notice how the gargamel intelligence deh pon another level also. The man a musical genius highlight those things ...Big up to buju..the man created history on his return to the industry and wants to take the music to a higher dimension.
I hope moving fwd he desist from answering another question about his incarceration as that's not important anymore.
