The greatest artist ever. This album was his opus magnum. We played it every day in 87 & its always part of our lives. Its meant so much to so many of us. Being able to see this genius on the stage were he belongs was a revelation. Wish we could see him again. Sadly missed. RIP Prince. 💯💜💜💜💜💜👑👑👑👑
I agree his sound never faded I have heard it in Beyonce, Usher ,Rihanna ,H.E.R. Alicia Keys ,Miguel ,Marsha A, Ro James , Raheem Devaughn D'Angelo and countless other artists drew from his sound especially the falsetto vocals and the drums, keyboard sounds they are still being replicated.
He's very like James Brown. I think James Brown & Prince both heavily, heavily influenced Bruno Mars, particularly Prince, but it's easy to see / hear the funk & soul influence of James Brown upon The Almighty Prince.
Prince was literally a once in a life time talent. He was literally a one man show. How many great singers can play guitar and drums, dance and sing, just to name a few. Not only did he do all these things, but he did them very, very well. I don't believe we will ever see another performer like Prince.
How well someone dances is subjective, so let's forget about that, Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa wrote, composed, played multiple instruments, etc. Prince, while quite talented, was hardly a once in a lifetime performer/artist.

@@jon2508 Freddie was a great showman and amazing voice but Prince is all in one…the man could walk into a studio make an album by himself perform alone on stage and mesmerize the audience….I saw him over 8 times and his shows always surprised me, never the same and he could change versions of his songs, play different tempos. Prince was million times better live, sorry but Freddie doesn’t touch his boots. Actually no one does plain and simple, he was the best of the best!

The thing I always try to remember is that everything in this show started as an idea in Prince's head. This was his vision brought to life. The man was a consummate genius-musician and showman. I will never tire of watching Sign O The Times.

You've got awesome taste...and one thing Prince always said is that he had hoped young people would not only come to enjoy good music, but would learn to play it,too. He gave a lot of money to support music school education- maybe one day you'll learn an instrument and be inspired to play his music, or even write your own, imagine how totally cool that would be!
I would argue that Purple Rain, Lovesexy, and this concert film are the 3 best things Prince ever created (which is saying a lot, bc his other albums/projects, etc were amazing too)

grew up during the Classic Rock and Disco era. then came New Wave and Heavy Metal, at one point, when i was like 16 or so, a friend made me watch Purple Rain when we were on LSD and that was a life changing experience. he also had "Around the World in a Day" and "Parade" on vinyl and we would listen to those constantly. later a girlfriend was obsessed with Prince so I was lucky enough to catch him live a few times. We even attended the Hard Rock Cafe show on Sunset blvd. as well as being front row at the Staples center for the Musicology tour. He was a gift from beyond this realm and will never be replaced
