- This has got to be the coolest plane ever developed! It's my first ever glider - the E-flite Night Radian FT, co-developed with the guys at Flite Test. It has over 100+light combinations, a huge 2.0 meter wingspan, and a super smooth brushless locking motor. Definitely a must-add to your plane hangar.

This is my first glider and third plane overall. The only real problem I had with it was learning not to turn to sharply closer the ground and with very low air speed. Doing that resulted in the plane losing lift before i was setup to land, and going in slightly hard. No damage lesson learned. I've gotten up to an nearly an hour of flight time with this plane by using the engine to get me up to around 350 to 450 feet of altitude, cutting off the engine and then just letting the plane catch thermals do long circles and ride the wind. You can get very long flight times this way, its relaxing and I've managed to do some un-powered loops with it when I have enough speed. This is a fun plane to fly day or night.

Great flyin, I have the original radian and it still flys great, love the relaxing feeling it gives versus flying my jets and warbirds, nice to see some ladies in the hobby, my wife helps me with customizing, however not much on the flying aspect of it, thanks for sharing.
I got the Phoenix 2000 version 1 (no wheels), and lighter than v2, and is exactly why I fly it, to just sit back, relax and go catch thermals.

That being said, I love my Night Radian, an I've flown many gliders an DLGs for years. Its just a nice, relaxing time in the autumn evenings with some buddies an some relaxing musiks.

I have one. It is a fantastic thermal glider, the absence of ailerons is not a big deal at all with the extreme dihedral wings. It self centers and can turn on a dime. Be careful under power and climbing, my Radian has a tendency to go nose up and loop, not good if you are not expecting this. I have learned to give a little down elevator while climbing under power for smooth climbs.

As a experienced pilot, I usually dislike aids like Safe as I don't like feel limited, but for this model I can see the benefit when flying at night to know that if you let off the stick that the plane will auto level. I may need to get one of these.

Got one myself and enjoy it immensely. I also added the Conscendo Evolution to the hangar which is a rocket ship. Conscendo flies better with a 1000ma 3 cell if thermalling is what you are after. You did a nice, informative video. Thanks
A year later, I plan on getting one for my Birthday! My friend Nate Saylor suggested it as a fun glider. I have the Eluna but she is squirrely. Nice flying by the way. I bet you are a pro at it now!

Having clearly differentiated right and left really helps for anyone wanting to try it, port and starboard ;)
Might want a tail light and a nose light as well, just makes it easier to keep orientation, but you don`t really need *many* lights as long as the ones you have are clearly visible at range.
Lots of kits out there, and if you`re ok with soldering, making something isn`t hard, making it look nice when it`s not dark is more of a challenge :p
Something like a Zagi or another flying wing is nice and cheap, so if you want to experiment with shoving a bunch of LED`s in something, that`s a nice affordable option :)
Won`t look as nice as this, but you can try it for cheaps with DIY.

god you are amazing at flying rc things, we use to date back in high school i rememebr when we snuck under the bleachers and yoh allowed me to slide my carbon spar inside your tight fuselage it was like getting a 6s 7000 into a umx plane, by far the tightest ive ever felt and i still pleasure my carbon spar to this day thinking how good it would feel to have those lips wrapped around my fuselage

Great review. I'm thinking at getting a night radian or night timber. I might just get both. I'm an old school balsa builder but looking to try a night time plane and I don't know much about LEDs. These look great and should be easy to see at night. Also, nice to see a lady in the hobby and involved with aviation. Wish there were more.

You should get the J Bauer light controller for the night radian.
You get all 100 plus light combinations that you can control from the remote
I may purchase this plane in the future but I think what would be a cool addition to it would be 5” 90° barn door flaps on the wings to allow for shorter landings 👌👍

That would be so much fun to do some night time fpv. I'm surprised you haven't bought a pair of goggles and fpv Camera and video transmitter yet? It's actually easier to fly fpv you can't lose orientation that way because you're actually in the cockpit lol. Hope to see you fly fpv soon. You progressed a lot congrats 🙏🏁🇺🇲👍

Love your videos. Tips comes handy for beginners. Any suggestions on trimming SAFE Select planes, like, do you adjust the manual trims with SAFE ON or OFF? Will be great if you can do a tutorial on trimming HH BNF planes. Thanks:)

Are you still flying this plane any or did you get board with it? You should try the Conscendo. It glides, it flips, it flies slow or fast. I installed the night radian lights onto one of mine and it looks awesome.

super movie what did you have programmed the remote control for a type of aircraft. ..? without ailerons ..?
I am struggling with the CG printed in the manual. Did you have checked the CG in your plane? The value 2,5 inch is not possible. Even if you put the battery just above the receiver the CG is not reachable. I would like to know where exactly you have put the battery in your plane. Best regards Jan from Berlin

I received my order defective. Half of the right LED main wing doesn't work ,and half of the rear wing is also defective.I have been waiting for four days how to get my money back. because my order was defective. I am very upset , since it happened right before Christmas.

Heya! Would be great to see you review non-Horizon stuff too! Also, the motor braking is actually an ESC setting, you can put any BLDC motor in there and it'll get braking so it can stow the prop.

At her level HH stuff is a good safe bet, plus they are available anywhere. Nothing else is sold where I live and a lot of the stuff you can order has poor support/parts supply.
there are some HH haters but I think they have done wonders for the hobby.
