While I like some of your other patterns better, I really like the cut-out idea. How about a way to use water-soluble glue (temporary) and use stitching to attach it to the shirt? Or even place the cut-out higher, and remove the backing entirely when done, leaving a stabilized cut-out shape. Like lace? I love all these ideas, I really do- but I have sensory issues and would have to wear an undershirt. Which is not a problem! But string ends, hems, glue patches, etc. give me the 'itches'
Embroidery artist and autistic person, I use water soluble interfacing and high quality cotton thread (DMC or anchor). You can also sew a backing once the embroidery is done to contain any errant threads/knots!
