After the legacy Eddsworld can't use any of Tom's personal character since he didn't want to be involved anymore, this is best shown on his t-shirt, were the asdf character has been removed and Tom said if was to ever use the design of Red leader, it wouldn't be Tord. So it's likely they can't use that design because it belongs to Tom and Tom doesn't want to be associated with the show anymore.
