I wish TH-cam would have a feature where we can report adverts, I'm fed up with seeing mobile game adverts that use footage from other games. This is illegal, and should not be allowed on this platform, but currently there is no function to report adverts as you can with videos.
Chorizoflex 2929 It's not asking much, just that they enable national law to be upheld over private profit. Funny how these sites never seem to have adequate features to deal with bad advertisers, yet are eager to provide all possible means for their users to take each other down.
That is so true. For example, a game called War of Colony or something uses Total War footage even though the gameplay does not resemble it in the slightest way
Hey Diplex, do an British assault on a Hindenburg line sector. Or you can do an counter-attack from the germans to take back theses trenchs. It was the direct orders of Falkenhayn, take back every inch of soil that was lost no matter the costs
While I would enjoy that like you would, I think they didn't add any trench battles to make it more exciting for players. Waiting to charge the enemy and immediately die doesn't exactly make the game fun for the casual gamer.
Hey diplex my dude, Love your AS2 content and the GWR mod, a suggestion for some awesome ww1 battles to do is a combined french british and american assault against a german ottomon front line, also if you make a long style snow defense map im sure you can simulate the russian civil conflicts very well! As allways great job! Thanks
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT. I have been watching you for a little over a year now and every time i watch your videos i am just amazed keep up the good work. :)
“It feels good, it makes sense” - Diplex referring to the slaughter of an entire French battalion. 25 mins in. I’m glad I’m not the only one with German bias, lol 😂.
that German gunner would be awarded gratefully, when the trench was getting over run he didn’t run or surrender and kept going after a grenade Also I have this feeling some People gunna say “he’s not real.” So ima say that IF it was a real battle that would probably happened to him
Considering at this point a French Army Infantry company was allotted 256 men each and a battalion 1,027 men, this 1,600 man French Army attack is probably involving two full infantry battalions. So yes a better part of an Infantry regiment.
Hey, I'm kind of a WW1 history nerd, and I just wanted to say that the British machine gunner you are talking about was shot in the head, but survived and stayed in a P.O.W. camp for the rest of the war.
Top tip for the beginning of the attack. If you're going to sit the camera some where to just watch the action, then set it up high so that we can actually see the battlefield. It's really hard to tell what's going on when you place it barely over the trench.
Did you know, the Kar98a and Kar98AZ were used in WWI by Jaeger and cavalry units. Then around in 1916 when the first storm-trooper battalions and companies were being fielded, the stromtroopers utilized these bolt-actions short rifles because they were lighter and shorter as well as quicker to shoot and easier to carry, and were more commonplace than pistol carbines and LMGs and they fared well with the storm-troopers because they utilized light infantry styled basic tactics combined with that of grenadiers close quarters combat tactics. The Kar98a and Kar98AZ proved so well that by 1918 they would be used by general infantry(conscripts, riflemen, etc.)
“So it has this magazine-looking thing-“ Rest assured, that’s an internal magazine. Doesn’t detach like your modern, external magazine, but it’s a magazine.
I'd say the other French rifles are Bertheir mle 1916 Long guns, which load wtih a 5 round en block clip; which was an upgrade from the 07-15 berthier which had a measly 3 rounds!
Its called the cone of fire and used in the SF role. You register targets at distance (like a pass) so you can put the gun on those same settings at night, you will then lay down this cone of fire into the pass and the rounds will land in a cone shape and area
Those rifles are Berthiers I happen to own two of them. The magazine as you call that is sticking out from the bottom simply holds the n-block clip and when all the shells are fired is opened (at least with the five shot variant) and the clip drops out. The three shot is very similar just not need to open the bottom; however, this stops mud from entering the bottom of the weapon once closed.
I’m abit Late but I believe that rifle with the “ magazine” you kept talking about is the lebel berthier they made a long version and a carbine. They are clip fed with 3 rounds, they were originally design was for reserve troops but the short carbines become popular with Troops for close quarters fighting similar to the kar98 AZ which would lead to the k98 K.
Please to a speed build. I loved that civil war map. I am still having issues as far as teams and having the editor remember what teams I have assigned. Thannks!
That French rifle with the "magazine" is a Berthier M16 infantry rifle. Originally it was designed without the permanent magazine but that meant it had a 3 round capacity which made it unpopular but the M16 (made in 1916) modification added it and increased the capacity to a favorable 5. I've also heard it called the Berthier Lebel as it used the same 8mm round as the Lebel 1886. It was not as popular as compared to that rifle but the French Foreign Legion was particularly fond of the carbine variant of the Berthier and served with them and various colonial troops till the 60's. Used to own one and loved it but it's pretty hard to find 8mm Lebel rifle ammo nowadays so I sold it.
Autumn 1915 is when the French and British adopted helmets 1916 is when the Germans did but its an easy mistake to make i myself made it all the time before
Hello Diplex i loved this one thats the way it would have been in ww1 . i would like to se the same one but with the allies defanding thank you mate you do a great job
Duplex heated, I am pretty sure that’s a field gun. But hats OK things are happening pretty quickly, don’t have time to stop, and look at one small thing. I get it. 22:54
Grenades during the height of the war were coveted above most weapons. You would get your hands on as many as you could, if possible. Certain novels and accounts (such as the famous All's Quiet on the Western Front) contain excerpts of soldiers literally disregarding their rifles in exchange of hurling grenades one after the other in defense as well as assault.
The machine gunners at mons were initially killed than their LT took over and he was shot multiple times and continued to man it. He was killed (and later awarded the VC) then a private took over (Think his name was Godfrey or something similar). He volunteered to hold off the germans so the remaining british troops could retreat. He was wounded but managed to disable the gun by throwing it into the river before his capture. He was a POW for the remainder of the war and I think he was awarded the VC when he returned home.
Admittedly as late to the party as I am I believe the Machine Gunner that was referenced Sidney Godley did survive the Battle of Mons after being hit by shrapnel and nicked in the head by a German bullet. He did indeed hold the Nimy Railway Bridge as his comrades pulled out. He then Disabled his Vickers gun by disassembling it and tossing the pieces into the canal. He was caught shortly after trying to crawl to safety and put in a P.O.W camp until the wars end. WW1 as overshadowed as it tends to be is a very interesting time period without a doubt and it pains me to think of all such stories we have lost in the years since the end of The Great War. Best Regards from your loyal viewer and history nerd Devin.
You meant a detachable magazine. And SKS has always been clip fed rifle, it has an internal non-detachable 10 round magazine. Later the Chinese made modifications to it, so it can accept 20 round detachable magazines and has select fire capability, named Type 63, very short lived rifle.
Dude... Is this a game or a movie? P.S. Don't make me whoosh you... But you make the best damn battles ever... But I'd like to see more Civilian life and calm before the big war/shootout causes I like RPing/realism in vids. Doesn't have to be every time though. Lol
if you pin this comment you will never have to re-live those first few seconds (of the video) again.
_I can make it happen._
*( **0:00** - **0:02** )*
a soggy owl i think he was going to speak his trap voice for a sec there

Diplex should pin this
Patrick Ellis So true mate
I think it's about time for a "great purge" of youtube...aye comrade? :^)
That is so true. For example, a game called War of Colony or something uses Total War footage even though the gameplay does not resemble it in the slightest way
I love the way you actually talk through the battle and everything, it's so interesting. (not sarcasm)
0:15 Nope...that's definitely a stroke Diplex ; - ;
good
U. R. Fukoing dum
mo Zissis you dumb
*sees diplex uploading a video*
*Immediately stops listening to German marches to watch it*
Regnum Portugalliae lmao
Regnum Portugalliae which march? I enjoy panzerlied and bomben auf engeland
ethan hatcher I like those ones as well, but my favourites are Wenn wir marschieren and Alte Kameraden
Nien fiek desh
ethan hatcher You realise they’re far-right extremist songs?
13:56 just a random rifle flying past the screen, just a normal everyday life
Yep, i too throw my rifle 100 yards in a random direction when i die.
Hey Diplex, do an British assault on a Hindenburg line sector. Or you can do an counter-attack from the germans to take back theses trenchs. It was the direct orders of Falkenhayn, take back every inch of soil that was lost no matter the costs
You boyos should expect more maps like this, I have a few new ideas *cough* Verdun *cough*
Microsoftman404 yay!
Thanks bro
I like dis
Nice, thanks.
Zombie verdun
This is what battlefield 1 is missing...Some trench battles. I was expecting the battle of Verdun, Passchendaele and Somme...
wouldnt be the real thing since its a run n gun game
In the upcoming apocalypse DLC we are going to the Somme and Passchendaele
The free night map is nothing but trenches, the final DLC set will be 4 of the major western front battles so lots of trenches
And don’t forget realistic rifles.
While I would enjoy that like you would, I think they didn't add any trench battles to make it more exciting for players. Waiting to charge the enemy and immediately die doesn't exactly make the game fun for the casual gamer.
Poor French forgot that bright blue and golden bottoms is not good camoflage
The french were also the first to use camoflage in ww1 (for sniper)
ours communiste what kind of camouflage?
KilroywasHere a kind of coat with a hood
KilroywasHere 1/im a classic liberal not a goddamn Bolshevik
ours communiste not for the regular soldier
This is amazing diplex! I really enjoy you making all these world war 1 videos. Probably one of my most favorite content topics on your channel.
41 mins!? Hell ya! I'm digging the extra 10 mins of Carnage bro, diggin it.
Trevor Roberts That a pun for trench warfare ? 👌
Mr ward it might have been. Lol, you could say that when I saw this video I had to dig in and get ready for the madness.

Abel Fetuao same here and loving the videos
“It feels good, it makes sense” - Diplex referring to the slaughter of an entire French battalion. 25 mins in. I’m glad I’m not the only one with German bias, lol 😂.

Imagine a Monte Grappa map! one of the most harshly contested points on the Italian front
Less We Forget
Great Job Diplex Your Good At Showing The Heat!
World War One is great with this mod, really brings it to life. Great video
You should watch The Great War's video on the Hindenburg Line and try to recreate that.
Mikaele Baker Love that channel.
A man of culture as well I see.
Or maybe he could play battle of empires
Ps. No hate
+Mikaele Baker Yeah, that would be great ! ; )
+Panzer Commander is the video available on your channel ?
that German gunner would be awarded gratefully, when the trench was getting over run he didn’t run or surrender and kept going after a grenade
Also I have this feeling some People gunna say “he’s not real.” So ima say that IF it was a real battle that would probably happened to him
So true. He was a true soldier
16:50 That gunner must be named.
He is truly a great man.
Grammar Nazi günther
One of your best videos yet!
This was so awesome, please do more of these battles!
26:36 haha the grenade bouncing right back at the poor French
Good catch !
Try having an allied defense with the french and British defending while the Germans are attacking there's an idea love your vids man
Could you do a video on the Iran-Iraq war since its basically ww1 with modern equipment.thanks
anomin Especially with Iran
The problem, I guess, is looking for mod of that war.
I love the new logo man. awesome!
I was that "someone", and i feel so proud now ☺️
i totally forgot about you channel for like a year and am so happy i found it again ig i need to watch all the vids
do more ww1 trench charge, I love that content. BTW keep up the good work.
Every time I watch one of your videos Diplex, I always get an urge to hop on Steam and boot up Men of War and do my own battles in the Editor.
I love these types of battles, please do more. If you don't I will blow up your mind using my mind
the German soldier at the end who says "help me ... HELP ME" AHAH
Considering at this point a French Army Infantry company was allotted 256 men each and a battalion 1,027 men, this 1,600 man French Army attack is probably involving two full infantry battalions. So yes a better part of an Infantry regiment.
Great video. No, excellent video!
love me zimboooooooooo
Amazing video :D
Love the video! Keep up the good work! I will make sure to watch them all and get you that sweet sweet watchtime ! ;)
Hey, I'm kind of a WW1 history nerd, and I just wanted to say that the British machine gunner you are talking about was shot in the head, but survived and stayed in a P.O.W. camp for the rest of the war.
20:44 if you look closely you can see that he didn't actually die
he was killed by friendly fire a few seconds later
oh, thanks for pointing that out.
Top tip for the beginning of the attack. If you're going to sit the camera some where to just watch the action, then set it up high so that we can actually see the battlefield. It's really hard to tell what's going on when you place it barely over the trench.
The German trenches during ww1 where actully a little homey. You should make the German trenches look a little more livable.
16:10 I see that God is helping the French by bombing the trenches from above with frog-legs
That machine gunner who survived the grenade was a hero lmao
I think you should definitely do more battles like this *cough* *cough* the somme and verdun
For more WW1 ideas, I suggest a Verdun scenario with large fortifications, artillery barrages and multiple German offensives.
I love this ww1 scenarios!! More pls
Good job diplex I love your channel
Will you do a star wars galaxy at war episode again soon?
Diplex You Should Do A Large Battle Like This One But With 4 Different Armies In A Free For All Type Scenario
Did you know, the Kar98a and Kar98AZ were used in WWI by Jaeger and cavalry units. The Kar98a and Kar98AZ proved so well that by 1918 they would be used by general infantry(conscripts, riflemen, etc.)
"having an automatic weapon... is tremendously advantageous" *gunner shoots tree for several seconds*
“So it has this magazine-looking thing-“
Rest assured, that’s an internal magazine. Doesn’t detach like your modern, external magazine, but it’s a magazine.
Hell Oden, Fortsätt göra vad du gör respekt
13:56
that rifle flew
I'd say the other French rifles are Bertheir mle 1916 Long guns, which load wtih a 5 round en block clip; which was an upgrade from the 07-15 berthier which had a measly 3 rounds!
Makes sense, you can fire more and take longer to reload or fire less and reload faster.
Loving your content keep it up!
Its called the cone of fire and used in the SF role. You register targets at distance (like a pass) so you can put the gun on those same settings at night, you will then lay down this cone of fire into the pass and the rounds will land in a cone shape and area

Pls do more of this. Its just awesome. I would like to see the german stormtroops or the italian Arditi in action ! Are they in the mod?
Frozen Skull yes I don't know about the Italians but they might be the stormtroopers are for sure
I’m abit Late but I believe that rifle with the “ magazine” you kept talking about is the lebel berthier they made a long version and a carbine. More trech battles !!!
+Rebel Warrior
Trench battles are the best one, indeed : )
Thanks for the epic video. I love learning about the Great War, and seeing this mod in was great. Love from the USA.
+Apex_ Predator
Battle of Empires is a great mod too ; ) (actually it's now a standalone version)
That French rifle with the "magazine" is a Berthier M16 infantry rifle. 12:22 look at the German soldier casually dodge a grenade than go back in the trench 😂😂
Top right Conner, does anyone see the body falling from the sky? 16:12
Duplex heated, I am pretty sure that’s a field gun. But hats OK things are happening pretty quickly, don’t have time to stop, and look at one small thing. I get it. 22:54
Epic a f. Love this one Dip
Hit the godamn machine gunner
+Diplex the rifles used clips back then to reload, and they did so from the top, not the bottom.
At 20:45 the dude gets back up after "dying" lmao
@03:00 Thats because it is a Mauser 98, just not the K version.
Regarding the helmets: The Adrian helmet (french) was first used in 1915. The Stahlhelm and Brodie helm were introduced in early 1916
A non detachable external magazine pre-dates WW1 with quite a few years. The Lee Enfield is one of many rifles with that configuration.
Feels like there would be a lot more smoke and dust obscuring the attackers.
“The Jägers are better shots”, puts them behind a wall
Awesome Im looking forward to watching this also Diplex can you do some Steel division Normandy 44
It is a Gewehr 98, ie. 1898 model used in the first world war. The older rifles were Gewehr 95 ie. 1895 model.
Grenades during the height of the war were coveted above most weapons. You would get your hands on as many as you could, if possible.

that voice crack in the beggining had me Rolling! my god that was funny!
The other rifle is called Berthier, it was newer than Lebel since it has been produced since 1907
new title: An ENTIRE French Regiment Storms German Trenches in WW1 AND Surrenders
I would love to see more WW1 videos. If you want an idea for a video how about 2nd Sino-Japanese War.
Mate, you forgot the super intense artillery barrage before the assault
more ww1 please!!:D its so freaking awesome and cool!!
2:15 What is the net on top of the howitzer for?
Poor attackers, they should have some artillery too! :P
3:08 thank me later
thanks!
Its been later, thanks
Thanked you later...

4:07 is when the fighting starts thank me later
9:26 You're not wrong. You'd still call that a magazine; I'm sure of it
