No way i could get rid of em. One of my favorite meats. I def have less rabbits kicking around this year. So much snow all their trails and passages get covered
@@prairiemountainmanadventur7424 we have hares but the deer are what I need to defend my garden from. Do you think a larger version will work on whitetail? 🤣
I have a bunch of cottontails running around my yard also. I couldn't get them to go in my rabbit sized cage. I was using hard corn still on the cob. I did manage to get a grey squirrel though. It was not a happy camper! LOL I bought a raccoon size trap and put it in the same place in my back yard and had a rabbit in it a couple of days later. I had not thought about using dried apple pieces, that's a really good idea. A regular apple doesn't work because it freezes and gets mushy. Last fall I shot a couple of them under the apple tree with the pellet gun, but they're harder to get in the winter that way. They show up under my bird feeders at night to eat the dropped seeds, but it's hard to get them with a pellet gun at night. I just picked up a bit of really nice grass hay and put a bit of that in the trap, it will be interesting to see if that attracts the rabbits. I thought of using that because they've been digging for grass on the shoveled paths in the yard. We have about a foot and a half or so of snow on the ground right now.
I have to build a couple of these, no shortage of hares here and free white meat is unbeatable in a depression. I will try to incorporate a short bungie cord wrapped over the top of the door to spring the door shut when the trap is triggered. If it's a success I'll upload a short and credit your channel 🍻
Used to make these when we were kids in the 70’s we would use bicycle tubes fastened to the door and the side of the box to slam the door shut
Awesome will have to maybe give that style a shot. Thanks for watching
My record is something like 10-12 a few years back. Three this year, but I relocate them - usually just over the floodway. Gotta feed the yotes

Wouldn’t mind some rabbit stew. Sounds good.
Rabbit is one of my favorite white meats!
Nice video. I wish I could trap rabbits and hare in the city. They're good eating. I saw a big snowshoe hare yesterday on my driveway.
Yeah i wish we had hares in the city. All i ever see are cottontails. There are no rules what so ever in regards to rabbits and hares here
Great update. Love the trail cam footage
Thanks. Hope to incorporate more trail cam footage this season
Lol awesome city trapping!
Get em now before they mess with my garden
