      You should avoid oily and spicy food during sahur. Usually, if you not use to eat rice in the early morning, you can just eat some oat or bread or biscuit with milo/milk along with the dates.
      By the way, I think it is normal for you guys to have stomachache since you guys not very use to eat heavy meal in the early morning.

      Its depends if you guys not use to eat oily food , but for me i already use to eat oily food during sahur

    Now that is what we call Sahur. Eat it like you eat your lunch because it is where you got the energy during the day.
    Also, make sure next time you got the correct time. Try to check Waktu Solat Subuh in Malaysia during Ramadan. Because each day is different time.
    Example: If Subuh is at 6:02am, make sure you finish eating and drinking before 6:02am, once it is 6:02am, that will be your Fasting time start.
    You guys did well, so far so good. Still got plenty of days left.

      Sure you can..fasting not only for Muslim but for all..fasting can be a diet way too..many non Muslim people fasting this time like Dr Soo Wincci..she never miss fasting..fasting is good for our body..

      every religion have their fasting but only islam is compulsory for one month in a hijri year calendar its basically not even awkward and out of world

    Easiest and safest food for sahur is to get yourself a loaf of bread and make sandwich by adding protein (chicken slice or beef slice) and vegetable. Also good if you have yourself banana. Drink lots of water. 1 liter during sahur, 1 liter after iftar. Drink milk is also good. During sahur, try not to eat food that you bought at pasar ramadhan the day before coz it might have turned bad overnight esp if you did not keep them in the fridge. Another simple meal is fried egg with hot rice and some vegetables. Add a bit of soy sauce or even butter. Yummy.

    I love nobu, shun , poko and kouji friendship! It’s so cute. Nobu is like that one brother who is have a lot of confidence and act like a cute kid but also the oldest among them. Kouji is the second child who are matured like he is the oldest one. Shun are just like your hype and fun siblings that u have in family and meanwhile Poko is the youngest one who want to act like the older but failed and he looks so cute everytime.
    Have a nice stay in Malaysia. Eat a lot of food here. We will alwayss support you all.!!!

    I have a couple of Ramadan sahur tips/hacks for you guys:
    - I always eat something that is not hard to make during sahur: roti/pan (normal bread) with jam, fried eggs & sauce, as sandwiches. You can have fun eating 'pan' with almost anything Nobu, Shun, Poko & Kouji. It's not hard to buy, and the matching for bread + filling are endless.
    Edit: I reccomend you guys to try the Kaya/Nyonya kaya spread (it's sweet). It's made of coconut milk (santan) & eggs. You can eat bread (local favorite is Gardenia brand, I buy Gardenia or Massimo (blue packaging), with Kaya + butter then toast, peanut butter + kaya toast, peanut butter Nutella/chocolate spread toast & more. You can also make Malay style french toast which are basically bread, dip in eggs + salt mix. Fry them and dip in sweet chili sauce (try the Maggi or Life brand for local famous chili sauces)
    -for lazy mornings or you run out of time: I always make instant Quaker oats/nestum with 1-2 spoons of condensed milk (depends on how much oats you use & how sweet you like). If you want easier & less work version, I suggest making overnight oatmeal as there's so many recipes you can find for yourselves. Use oats, soak with milk of your choice, add any toppings you want like raisin, some honey, fruits etc.
    -You can also buy a big box of cereals like Koko Krunch, Honey Stars, Cookie Crisps, Milo cereal with milk. I don't reccomend cereal everyday though because it is not the most filling sahur. You guys can also buy these cereals & famous milk brands like Marigold, Dutch Lady, Farm Fresh, etc and make a video to review the Malaysian cereals & milks together if you want hehe
    -if you don't have time or you're lazy but want to eat something other than oats, I also tend to do like you guys: take leftover food from yesterday's buka puasa, or the food I bought from bazaar Ramadan yesterday, heat it up and eat as sahur meal.
    -if you don't like or have lactose intolerance, then find dairy alternatives

    My FAM and i sahur with rice and when we buka we eat fruits but sometimes we eat rice too this is for we have a energy on a daily basis 👍 and you guys should Drink lots of water❤️

    If you are not used to eat early in the morning, just having a light food like bread, oat porridge, cereal like Nestum and a glass of hot drink like hot chocolate and of course water is enough though. If you want to eat rice make sure you wake up early than 5:30. You can take time to eat slowly.

    Guys, you guys gonna fast for 30 days right? Keep experimenting which sahur method that suit each of you best. Shun probably able to eat heavy food in the morning. Nobu probably should skip oily spicy food in the sahur time and stick to dates, water, milk or cereal. Poko need to add more protein and slow release carbohydrate so maybe eat wholemeal bread and omellete during sahur.

      I dont think they will fast for 30 days... but if they will then good job i mean its hard to fast for 1 month for a first timer

    For the poor, oppressed and misplaced, to get 3 kurma for Sahur is a really big deal. Our Prophet Muhammad SAW was always modest in everything.
    Malaysians are blessed with peace, harmony and abundance of food.
    One of the spirit of Ramadhan is to feel what it's like to go without food, so in Ramadhan or outside Ramadhan, we are encouraged to feed the poor..

    you guys doing great! That's how we Muslim mostly eat for sahoor! not only eat dates but you can add something more like bread or sandwich, cereals, oat/nestum, soup, porridge, fruits etc if you want something heavy, you can eat fried rice, fried noodles with small quantity or any food you bought for iftar(berbuka) if you couldn't finish it, you can heat up like what you did and eat it during sahoor! But do not eat everything too fast😂 if you want to eat more for sahoor try wake up early like 5am, heat up your food &eat slowly! and also your mindset! try not to think how hungry you are, let's do something more productive ! its hard for beginners & that's normal! once you feel fun, enjoyed, have apositive mindset then you'll find puasa is very easy for you ! selamat berpuasa! 🙂
    (You can only eat dates for sahoor, there's nothing wrong but as for me i can't 😂)

    Actually, for sahur, you guys can eat whatever you like and as much as you like as long as your stomach allows. Don't limit your eating

    Yes, your stomach will get upset for the early days of Ramadan because it kinda gets shocked to suddenly have heavy foods so very early in the morning. But after several days it will get used to it.
    But try not to eat foods that are too oily and spicy. I think maybe you guys haven't used to malaysia foods yet that maybe that's the reason you got stomachache too.. So maybe you can try making your own breakfast too like what you usually have in japan? Ganbatte~

    To be fair, for sahur, a bit heavy meal is to make the hungry feel (when you feel stomach acid rampaging) comes late and more bearable. For dates, it is for energy throughout the day because it have quite good calorie and high in fiber. You guys may have stomach ache because one, maybe because of oily food or two, maybe your stomach not accustom to heavy meal in the morning.

    Nice sahur today, you need more heavy breakfast like rice or noodles with kurma, so selamat berpuasa, yosh gambare minna.... I'm very proud of you all..

    I have a suggestion! You can try another type of kurma which is Medjool or Ajwa type. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of dates, but after trying these two, I can eat dates everyday now because It’s yummy compared to other types of dates. My fav is medjool date! It’s really2 delicious. You guys should try it!
    Fun fact, dates are really great in giving energy! That’s why eating dates during sahur is good. It can also protect your heart and bone, very good for your brain and can also prevent cancer. Dates are also high in fiber and potassium, overall it is very good for health.

    Guys, do you know why you feel so thirsty during the day?
    It’s because sleeping right after sahur. Based on my & my friends’ experiences, if we sleep after sahur, we will wake up with our throat feeling dry & VERY thirsty.

      Yep because believe it or not, our mouths always open and closes during our sleep which causes the saliva to dry up

      @@mobaentod9635 That's wrong, when you sleep, your body naturally loses fluids and electrolytes in several ways. When you snore or breathe through your mouth at night, moisture in your nose and mouth gradually evaporates, causing mild dehydration that can result in waking up thirsty.

    Lots of veges, dates, milk, banana, bread n abit of rice for me. Surely we will feel hungry n THIRSTY during fasting whatmore in our hot weather but if we just stay indoor with aircond it's blissful. Some like to hang out in shopping mall to pass the time. Get some sleep you will be fine. Over time you will appreciate fasting. Just some self control time will fly n before you knew it it's time to break the fast. Happy Ramadan all.

    my petua usually when we sahur eat heavy portion like eat rice(half) with 2 dishes which is contains protein and vegetable.. its wont make u thirsty.dont eat something oily like char koew tiew because its would make u more thirsty and also dont drink cold water.its make u thirsty 2 3hours later..drink warm water and after u eat all then u need to eat 3 biji kurma. Good luck for u all.

    I went through the same phase when I was younger. I thought eating more would make me less hungry, but it feels the same. But after some times, the hunger just went away. That's why, I just eat something I can on the table because I'm too sleepy to eat a lot lol

    It depends on people. I prefer to eat light for sahur. Water, dates, some leftover from previous buka puasa. I will only eat a little eventhough my family always cook heavy meals for sahur.

    You know what? i think there’s no way to avoid feeling hungry and thirsty during ramadan because you’re fasting
    Sahur just made it more bearable for us to hold throughout the whole day!
    And maybe nobu had a stomach ache because you guys eating everything so fast 😂 i cant believe nobu said kurma is enough for him, so strong 😂
    And yes during sahur, try to avoid eating food that is too oily. Even I didn’t eat food that’s oily during sahur

    if you guys still joining fasting/puasa i would recommend you to drink with a water that you add with chia seed. it would be good for hydration since chia seed can absorb alot of water in it...

    Try eating bread, bun, porridge, soup, more vegetables, more fruits & anything soft for sahur ☺️. And a cup of hot drink too. Don't over eat. Just eat 'moderate' amount of food.

    It's time to learn how to cook nasi goreng for sahur minna san 😄 . It's easy , first cook rice before sleep, 5am start cooking . You can buy nasi goreng seasoning packet in mini market 👍

    Foods like oats/oatmeal or yogurt and milk help you keep hydrated throughout the day. Some bread and maybe some eggs are good for protein as well. It’s not too heavy but filling. You guys are doing so well!

    Finally you eat more :D. For Sahur you eat just like you would for normal breakfast . Well good job for hanging out with only Kurma so far. But do eat normaly from now on. Also you can eat sooner you dont have to go for last minute as long its before the dawn. I recommed something with rice and chicken in Sahur because its easy on stomach.

    The dates during sahur is Sunnah taught by prophet Muhammad saw. It's obvious that his practice is the best for our stomach. But, he didn't prohibit others to eat more, since there are also people with different circumstances, like diabetic, prone to fainting and others... I am easily getting very light headed without enough food, so I eat rice during sahur. Just a little rice with eggs and veggies.

    Salute you guys for taking part in Ramadan fasting quite seriously. But a good learning experience for everyone instead of just hearing people say. Actually fasting from dawn to dusk isn't that difficult if you follow the rules and put your mind into into. Don't go to bed right after sahur otherwise you'll feel terrible. For me best time to take a nap is before noon but don't overdo it. In the afternoon should keep yourselves busy with some activites that make your forget your hunger.

    Yay they mentioned what we've been saying in the comments, but yeah I think they understood that yesterday's takeout isn't generally a good meal for sahur, too oily. I normally have a fried egg and some milk for sahur plus a date because its all really quick, my parents normally have frozen parathas with tea and my sister normally just has some water and something bready. My friends had breakfast bars and were fine in the day. I think more importantly eat slower as well, because the food digests slower.

    Guys !!! In the first place who told you to eat just 3 kurma or so and just water for sahur ?!! 🤦🏻
    Eat as much as you can like what you called sahur party 👍🏼
    It’s for you to have energy and be like normal for the rest of the day.
    What’s the point of fasting if you feel weak lazy and sick through out the day?
    Please remember fasting is basically to make you healthier, physically and spiritually stronger if not then you did it all wrong !

    its not ramadhan if no challenge at all.. the purpose is for us to remind & feel ourself about those having difficulties to food access.. or having eat less food everyday.. we shud feel grateful of what we have and not to waste food.. or anything that we have more than the others.. just my 0.20cents opinion! ..All the best guys.. gambari masu.. fightoo!!

    A bit of tips. Dont drink too much water during sahur because u will pee a lot during d day and become more thirsty during the day. Hehe only 2 cups max during your sahur. So in a day - 1 cup before sahur when u wake up, 1cup at the end of sahur, 1 cup before 1st meal , 1 cup after fasting meal, 2 cup after 830pm (more or less) ,1 cup around supper time, 1cup before sleep. So that u dont lose all the water in your body after sahur. Have a nice day guys 🥰.love it that u could eat more during sahur

    Yeay, you did well for sahur. My choice of food during sahur is oat porridge, dates, Plain water and some fruit. Ganbatehhhh, you can do it 💪🏼

    Just eat enough guys so that you have energy throughout the day. Some people can survive with kurma and drink only for sahur and some eat one complete meal. Just eat what suits you best to make you survive the day 🤗

    A tip: The best way to avoid being indigestion is not to sleep after sahur ♥️. The best way to avoid being sleepy or tired, is by sleeping before 1pm for a few minutes. Got the break and you'll energizeeee!
    And i agree with Nobu Kurma is enough!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

    Just eat like what you have for your normal breakfast or lunch. that will give you energy. i always sahur with rice and side dishes. and don't forget to drink lots of water! selamat berpuasa!
