    We have retired to Sicily. Been here one week. Pretty much prices are half the price I was paying in Missouri at Walmart. I would also say the ingredients are way better!

      Oh, Congratulations! That's wonderful~! 💚 Happy for you. Yes! Most definitely, they are way cheaper than the U.S. Enjoy!

    00:54 Awww! You certainly don't see that in American grocery stores. Hugs and kisses from Dad to Mom.

    Wow, some of those prices (even in Euros) seem really low. It's great you've discovered this great store.

      @DoItMyselfPeg, Hi Peggy ~ yes, the grocery shopping in Sicily is very reasonable especially for things that are in seasn and grown locally. It's definitely a blessing for which I am very grateful. 😍 Thanks for watching. Blessings, ~ Carol Amato

    Nothing like good bread. Hmm?😃 Where in Brooklyn did Croce buy his bread? Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Dyker Heights, and Graves End are (were) great neighborhoods for good Italian bread & pastries.

      @salvatoreemma, exactly! 💚 When Croce lived in NY, he was 18th Ave. Brooklyn. This pic is from Sicily, though. We can't wait to get back ~ exciting. Yep, nothing like good Italian bread and pastries ~ that's right! Thanks for stopping by, Salvatore! 😊 Blessings, ~ Carol Amato

      @@TheSicilianLife So awesome. You don’t have to reply. I just want to share. My great grandmother, whom I’m now (at age 60) applying for Italian citizenship through, babysat me as a boy on 77th Street & 17th Ave. My uncle had a law office on 63rd St & 18th Ave; I enlisted in the Navy on 64th St & 18th Ave - my mom worked in the OTB (horse betting parlor) next door. I bet Croce loved the 18th Ave Feast when it came around. It was nice to reminisce. Yeah… nothing like good bread (John 6:35).

      @salvatoreemma, oh, wow! What a huge blessing - and what a wonderful heritage you have! I'm sure you've got great memories! I'll have to ask Croce specifically about the feasts - I know he was there for several years before moving to PA to open a pizzeria/restaurant with partners. Yes, LOVE this verse: "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:35. Thank you for sharing that! 💕🙏 Have a fantastic day, Salvatore, and thank you for sharing your story. Very inspiring! ~ Ciao, Carol Amato

    What a nice provisions store! No comparison to Aldi with how fresh the meats and bakery items are.

      Yes, we really like it there, and it was closeby!

    That was a Very Nice Grocery Store. 👍. It looked like it might have been comparable to our Aldi's here in the USA. Great Prices. I go there sometimes.😊👍

    Do you have weekly farmers markets and any other markets? Thank you 😊

    • @TheSicilianLife
      @TheSicilianLife  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, there is a weekly market on Tuesdays in Carini near Corso Garibaldi ~ on a side street. 💚 In Palermo, about 20 minutes away, there is the famous Ballaro Market open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thanks for stopping by.

    Trader Joe's still sells a pound of Italian pasta for 99 cents! 😋

      Yes! 🥰 Ziplock bags ~ took me forever to find them, but I did. Not the same quality but will do.
