    Helpful video! I recently purchased the Cycliq Sport and hadn't delved into the settings or had opportunity yet to download video. So, that was useful. I'm glad to have this piece of "safety" equipment on board, together with rear radar/camera. I can't count all of the times that I wish I had had these devices in the past.

    Thank you. Excellent review of the fly 12 for how it was designed to be used. I am planning to upgrade to 12 sport as I am still using the original fly 12. Which has been very durable, having hit the pavement 3 times due to mounts breaking. I recommend using the best mount you can get. I now use a k edge mount that cost $70. The cheaper mounts break.

      I have the K-EDGE mount on my fat bike and mountain bike and it is rock solid. Unbreakable.

    I just got the FLY 12 Sport and the FLY 6 3rd Gen light/cameras in today and got them both mounted on my road bike. Cant wait to get them out on the road and give them a test.

      Nice! I just took mine out on a ride in the Italian Dolomites. Super smooth roads, so I should get some clear footage out of them.

    Thanks for this, helped me get my head around a few things. Then I recognised the 'Cabbage Town' reference and thought you'd be in Toronto. As you ride with the Fly12 I recognised streets etc. Are you close to the Republic of Rathnelly? Off Avenue Road. My uncle lived on Mcmaster Avenue and I've spent a lot of time there.

      Hah! Yes. I live near Avenue and Eglinton now, but was in Cabbagetown before that. Nice to come across a fellow Torontonian. Thanks for watching!

    Compared with the 12CE, the Sport has more wind noise, the beep level (e.g. to warn of low battery) is much quieter, the “cafe alarm” mode has been removed and it doesn’t automatically adjust for orientation. Otherwise I think it is better. It’s not always waiting for a connection with your phone so the battery doesn’t slowly drain away when it’s turned off.

    Mike, Great video review. Can I mount this Fly12 under my Garmin combo mount? My Garmin "out front" mount has a gopro 1/4 turn adapter underneath for mounting a Garmin UT800 light or a gopro camera. Thanks.

    • @bikesbymike
      @bikesbymike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. You can definitely mount the Fly12 under the Garmin combo mount; that’s what I do on my road bike. I have the Cannondale SystemBar Computer and Light Mount (K12018) connected to my handlebar. It has a quarter-turn cycle computer mount on the top and 1/4 turn light mount on the bottom. I connect a Garmin Quarter Turn to Flange Mount Adapter to the systemBar mount and to that I connect my Fly12 using the Cycliq Universal Adapter. Here are the links to the two different adapters. www.amazon.ca/Quarterturn-Friction-Flange-Mount-Adapter/dp/B072LQJ9TZ. cycliq.com/product/universal-adaptor/

      It has held up well. No issues so far and my original review still stands. No malfunctions either.

    13:50 - Is there a continuous recording setting or is that automatic and it only records in 3, 5 or 10 increments?

    • @bikesbymike
      @bikesbymike  ปีที่แล้ว

      No continuous recording setting. Only records in 3, 5 and 10 minute increments.

    Good overall review although I was waiting to hear what 'ORGANIC MODE' is but you skipped straight on past it 😀.

      I got to that setting and thought, “what is that?” I still don’t understand what it does. 🤔

      @@bikesbymike Haha. Fair enough. I heard somebody on another video suggest that it flashed randomly, as opposed to a set sequence but, I must admit, he didn't sound too sure either.

    • @infocuslearning
      @infocuslearning ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a slightly randomised pulsing mode (high intensity)

    • @bikesbymike
      @bikesbymike  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@infocuslearning Thanks for clarifying. I would never have guessed that from their term “Organic Mode”

  • @Bigjuergo
    @Bigjuergo 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    how long last the battery with the 2.4k video setting and with stabalized video and organic flash?

    • @bikesbymike
      @bikesbymike  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I get less than the claimed 6.5 hour runtime. I only ever run it in solid / low mode to conserve battery life. With that setting, I get about 5 to 5.5 hours of use.

    The brand has one of the worst real customer reviews I've seen on forums like Reddit. The hardware reliability and customer service are seem to be horrible. You know anything about this?

    • @bikesbymike
      @bikesbymike  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s always the real test; how does the company deal with a customer when they have a problem. Since I’ve never had any issues with my Cycliq cameras, I really can’t comment.

      They have quality and durability issues, one example is the mounting tabs on the unit are not strong enough when they break it renders and expensive light useless...... then you deal with their support which has it's own reputation for poor quality. Such a shame because the concept is great, design looks neat, just lacking in build and service quality

    Dont buy this camera. The one I ordered was fauly right out of the box. They charge a 3% fee to return it. Avoid. What a scam.
