- Finally! We got our baby horses, Lakota and Rain playing in the pasture! Lakota is about 2 weeks old and rain is getting close to 4 weeks old.

Follow along with our family as we share our life events while living on our 168 acre homestead, farm and stables!
We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! We also go to occasional auctions and recently have gotten into regenerative farming/agriculture. We are all about learning how to improve our fields/soil.

They’re adorable, I don’t know how you get anything done around the homestead I’d be sitting just watching them all day. It looks just beautiful & that birdsong is so pretty.
Rain's legs are so long she stands like a giraffe to eat ❤

I loved seeing her bend down like a baby giraffe. She’s still getting used to the long legs. Hehe

Aww :-(😢 I wish that I could hear the birds!! My ears aren't too good at hearing birds 😢 I can imagine them chirping! What a beautiful sound and a beautiful view watching them!!😂❤
You can try turning up the volume when watching this video or check if your ears need cleaning.
If those are not the problem then go to the doctor for hearing aids.

Lakota certainly plays his role as pesky, younger, stable-brother well. So cute to see the control Rain has when she kicks at him! They are both adorable; if I had to pick one, I think the filly. Lakota, not gelded; I think will take someone who handles stallions well, not me thanks!!

On holiday in Andalusia just now. A balmy 30 degrees at 7pm.
They are starting to form that friendship bond. So precious! I love seeing them out there playing! I can't wait for the two other foals to join in on the fun! That will be great!
Technically speaking here that Colt is a miniature horse.
There's a good difference between a baby and a miniature horse.

I live in the city now and I miss horses...I miss riding, I miss grooming them and mucking out stalls and the smell of horses. Thank you for your videos, I kind of get to visit, and seeing them play in the pasture...gives me *life!* 😏🐎🐎🐎🐎
Feeling this hard right now, I moved to the big metropolis 4 hours away from my itty bitty hometown, and far far away from any cattle and horses and goats and chickens and I miss them all so much, what I wouldn't give to leave corporate America forever and just go ride on the trails 😭
@@duetopersonalreasonsaaaaaa Same! I miss everything, even the smell of manure! 😂 reminds me of mucking out stalls...and cleaning tack. Us kids worked hard back then, and it felt good. We had no devices to distract us. We had good manners. If you didn't a grownup might go upside your head. 😏 I feel sorry for kids today. What a wicked world for them...if I were to win the lottery, I would get some property, and rescue horses and young people. Out in the country, where no drug dealer would dare go. Let them work with the horses, and chickens, milk the nanny goat. I miss those days. And I'm afraid...not really afraid, but aware that these are the last of days. We're at that place, again, where we've blown it, big time. Destroying ourselves and each other..😞

This is now my homescreen on my laptop. Absolutely beautiful.
I had Saddlebreds for years. I don't know why but I never saw the SB foals play with each other as foals naturally want to do. They were out in huge pastures with the mares and the mares weren't overly protective of them, so it wasn't the mares keeping them apart. But the foals would just follow the mares around, stand by themselves and ignore each other. I was always puzzled by that.

The foals are like baby giraffes…. Long legs needing to splay in order to get to the grass! They are all so beautiful!!
Lakota reminds me of me when I wake up. 😂 They are so darn cute when they play. I loved the way, in the beginning, Lakota startled Rain when she came up behind him and made him jump, lol. My ears are bad and I didn't even know the birds were singing. ☹️ They are all so absolutely, incredibly beautiful! 🐴🐴🐎🐎😍🥰

I wanted you to know I had surgery on the 4th with some major complications turning a 2 day stay into an 8 day stay. I watched this video several times, especially at night when my pain was high and I couldn’t sleep. The views AND the sounds were incredibly relaxing. Thank you for not only filming this but sharing, too 💜
Lakota's got such heavy bones compared to his fine boned mom. Plus, Halflinger color. Some kind of draft in the stud daddy? Who knows. Rain is a strong well put together looking girl. Moves well already.

Both parents are registered Missouri Foxtrotters. Lakota’s mom is actually a pretty big foxtrotter and his sire was big and stout like Lakota as a foal. His momma is just growing him good😉
