Baku also possesses the features of a fifth animal: the ears of a rhinoceros. And I’m not sure where you got “body of a lion” from, as it is traditionally described as having the body of a bear.

Fun fact: Modern depictions of the baku also take inspirations from the animal that also gained its Japanese name from this mythical beast: The tapir.
