I've never played a SSX game in my life, but this mix makes me wanna play SSX 3.
Edit: I emulated the game a month ago, it's fucking awesome.

The EA BIG Era was when EA truly peaked.
They not only had direct endorsement from Def Jam Records, they had artists doing exclusive versions of already existing songs for their games.
Truly a magical time that, sadly, the newest generation of gamers won't ever experience.

Thank god I got to play SSX 3 which is still to me one of the best games ever despite no online (at least anymore) but sad that I never got Fifa Street as that was a game I wanted to play at some point

If you didn't have the means to burn the ISOs into a CD, pirated copies costed a mere fraction of a legit game. This was truly the only way to enjoy the consoles to the fullest, as retailers didn't carry all the titles. Specially if you were from a 3rd World Country like myself.
That's how I got to play the EA Sports BIG titles, as retailers in my country for some reason didn't carry them.
When this soundtrack started while you are snowboarding down the entire peak alone, pure melancholia with goosebumps.
To this day, when I go skiing on my own when the snow is glistening in bitter cold air I think of the first time I played this game on my new ps2 I got on Christmas morning...man goosebumps for sure.

It was the GameCube version for me 💪🏼
an all-time favorite. My favorite parts are:
0:46 and 2:18 - the ride it takes us on (chorus and pre-chorus i suppose)
3:21 - This part is hard to describe. I love it immensely. It's like the song is trying to describe something *incomprehensibly* large like a mountain.
3:52 - everyone's alltime favorite part of the song. it's so chill and nostalgic.
4:54 - like you wake up to a beach in the winter or are born again it seems. so lovely and euphoric and relaxing and comforting, most of all.
5:25 - back into the action
9:04 - i imagine a beach scene again. so calming and reassuring.
9:15 - if the SSX3 logo had a sound, it'd be this. SO cool.
9:31 and 9:50 - we're on our way out to continue with life.
Overall I could write a book on how nostalgic and cool this track is. I'm glad I've found people on the internet who love it just as much as I do. And I love it very much. the SSX3 soundtrack is arguably the best of all time. I still play SSX3 to this day and the soundtrack never gets old.

Oh, such a beautiful description ❤️ This track doesn't remind me of a beach though. It reminds me of the section Happiness. Where's soft, fat, warm snow and the winter sun is shining gently trough the mountain and everything is sparkling and you're almost free falling to the finish...

@@RedRag684 definitely. they are a Norwegian DJ duo, so check out the Melody A.M. album and go from there. I really like Eple and In Space on there, but some are instrumentals and some have vocals.

I love you, man! The various instances of dynamic music, which create a unique sample of songs depending on actions in the game, have always been one of my favorite things about SSX 3. Poor Leno is my absolute favorite track in the game due to its instances of dynamic music which really vary from the original song. Thank you so much for posting this collection of them! Now I can use this video to explain to my friends the music that’s been in my head for 2 console generations now!

SSX3 will forever be my favorite sports game. For its gameplay (love snowboarding) & especially for its music. All the Dynamic arrangements & remixed segments added to the songs & change depending what happens make the OST even more awesome & phenomenal then what it already is.
Real happy I got to grow up with this game & still play it to this day, such a great game. Thank you for uploading the in-game versions of these tracks.
That voice is so nostalgic, like its a surreal memory. I still have this game in my room, my dad used to buy me games. SSX3 was one of them, I never really figured out how to get to the second and third peaks until recently.

I'm trying to figure out if this is not a remix (and seeing that it is not), why Röyksopp doesn't offer this as an extended version? I only see a 3-4 min version and the rest remixes on their official music-hosting sites/apps.

i recently got my ps2 in December 2019 and this game is actually pretty good, its sad that online is shut down, it really makes you think that people use to play on this console and now its just single player (unless you have two controllers)

I used to check this game's online back in the day, and it was pretty barren, but I didn't get internet until 2005 so I definitely missed the game's heyday. I still did get into a few matches tho, with nothing but chill people who just shot the breeze on the mic while we raced or whatever. So simple, but so good.

4:55 I actually looked for this in particular. My description won’t do it justice, but to me this part sounds so beautiful and ethereal. Not sure if this is true, but I always hear a guy singing in the background. It only plays when you go though a shortcut. That song is sad sounding so I imagine it to be a spirit of a man who got lost on the mountain. Haha
If you research and watch the animated video of this song your idea pretty much falls in place but in terms of ssx 3 there is a easter egg regarding this very topic.

I second that this is a very good track, but overall in my opinion SSX tricky had more really good tracks than SSX3 (actually I couldn't name a second track besides this one from SSX3 that stuck with me)
