Did it take you 5 years to make your game because it had a large scope and you only worked on it part time? I want to complete my first game in a few months which is why it will be for mobile and I'm shrinking the scope as much as I can. Any tips on finishing a game within a season?
Atmos Games It would be quite nice if you could do a video on finding people for team or getting help. I think thats a main issue for most starters like me :T
obesity bee perhaps yes. The game tbh isn’t that big however. It’s about three hours long. I think part of the reason was simply changing stuff constantly, not really knowing what the game was. Keep up the good work!
Actually, I am still 14 years old, and I really want to make, or experience making a video game. I was kind of inspired by a lot of major games like Minecraft or Terraria, and so seeing and watching this vid made me confident in my pursuit of being a video game dev. How they, and you Mr. Brush make these really intricate games really astound me, and I want to do that too. Particularly, I want to be sort of like an RPG game dev, because I like making stories and stuff, draw some characters in them and making backstories and stuff, and I want to put them in a video game and somehow share them to people, and entertain them. And one reason why I want to be a game dev is that I have grown up playing video games my whole life, since I was four, and so I want to also make these games and make the same experience to other people. I know it's long, but it's just my way of gratitude to your vid as an encouragement in my goal.

I'm someone who is bored unless i have a ton of creative projects to go back and forth with. I'm a comic artist, a starting light novel writer, and in the concept phase of making an rpg horror game. My mind is always moving, so i need something creative to keep me busy. My problem has always been, when i go into doing things and it's working by myself extremely well, i always hit publishers saying "sorry. You need a team to get paid." Or "you need to get rid of 90% of your work to get paid" or "you need to win a contest to be published." With games it's just "you need to put it on steam to get paid." So, i just decided to put effort into my game the most.

"no because you suck" lol but then by that argument if you don't and you already have experience in the game development business then yes yes you can make a game by yourself.
I did. I taught myself form scratch a number of years ago. The bonus is that once you really know a language well....ALL languages are extremely similar. Think about it: All programming is about storing and calling data. Whether its hit points, (probably an integer variable), names or text (a character, char or string, str variable), or percentages based on how many bonuses and penalties you give your play a chance to hit with (a float variable). So knowing how to deal with variables in 90% of the languages is a huge part of the battle. The differences can be that the keywords and for lack of a better term 'sentence structure' will be different. Some languages end a statement in a semi-colon, others in a colon, others with nothing. However, if you write a good piece of code about dealing with 'hit points' in one language, learn to write it in 4 or 5 other languages and you'l realize how similar all programming languages are. DON'T BE INTIMIDATED! Lots of people have learned to program, you certainly can too. In fact, grab a good book from any book store on Python, and write yourself 2 or 3 programs that work, and you can suddenly change your career! People NEED programmers, and are willing to pay you to learn, as long as you show you can do it at all! An AVERAGE Python programmer can get $75,000 as a regular job. A new one can still probably get $50,000. Look up Revature, or many online programming bootcamps or free programming lessons. You won't be sorry!
@@kencrawford4838 This partly true but there are big differences between some, like lowleve or highlevel languages or, languages which are designed or much better suited for different paradigms... switching from java to c# when still keeping OOP paradigm is easy, switching from javascript to c++, or from OOP in Java to functional paradigm in Haskell can be alot harder. Your definition of what programming is a bit oversimplified.

What’s a cracked tool?
He means pirated software, like ones people download from torrent sites. And he's saying is there any way for software developers to find out if he's used pirated software to develop his/her game.
I don’t know the answer to this. First, you really don’t need to pirate software to make games.. lots of free options. Second, as someone who makes software (that’s what a game is), I recommend you don’t pirate software. I think I understood your question. All the best!
