Back in 2017, I started my own TH-cam channel and you were kind enough to let me call you on the phone for some advice about being a TH-camr. You also told me to watch Kara and Nate as they had about 150,000 subs and they were putting out some real good videos about their travels. Today they have over 4 million subs... Your fine work inspired me back then and I now have 2 channels on the go and am travelling and living a good life from the revenues from TH-cam. Hello Jim! I found you years ago when you did your videos on grooming Cocker Spaniels. You gave me such wonderful information and even today, at the age of 71, I still groom my Cockers. So good to see that you are still going strong cruising with your wife. Thanks for showing your Cocker! I thought maybe you quit having a dog because of all your traveling. Hello Jim and spouse, Jim I was going through my TH-cam's and you popped up, and boy was I surprised how much weight you've lost and how good you look holy moly what a change and you probably feel much lighter I'm assuming. Jim the yard filled in perfect, you mentioned adding more trees out in that corner where that big shed is behind you, it will fill in nicely out there. Thank you for your 2024 update! First, I'm glad you have returned to good health after the stroke, you are correct, they can be a horrible experience, glad you are okay. I'm sure there are reasons for the decreasing viewership, however I am glad to hear of more cruising videos in the making, those are my favorite. I especially enjoy the American Cruise Lines, their itinerary sounds very interesting. Keep up offering interesting and honest content, I'll be on board for more!

I stumbled upon one of your old blog posts from your Norwegian Star trip back in ‘08. Although I’m not sailing on the Star, I’ll be going on my first Norwegian cruise in a few months so I’m researching :) happy to see your travels and wishing you both a happy thriving 2025!
The cruise video's have been great over the years and we always learn something new. Maybe consider rolling with the algo's and explore telling us about your new diet and tips and with the weight loss just to see how it does too. I'll keep watching either way sitting here with my back support. Cheers !

Yeah, I'm sure some cynical people must tune out my Caitlin recommendations because they think it's a paid advertisement or something... but no, my main motivation is because you're way better off to book a cruise through a travel agent and Caitlin is exactly the kind of travel agent you want working for you. I'm not really sure what you're asking. I'm guessing that you want me to elaborate on what I said about Icon Of The Seas and the loud music. When I was on Icon Of The Seas, every pool I visited had loud music playing and there was a total party atmosphere. A lot of the music they were playing was "techno"... which I found particularly annoying. There wasn't any pool with a quiet, relaxing atmosphere... and that just really made me not want to spend any time in or around the pools on Icon Of The Seas. The combination of them playing the wrong kind of music, playing it too loud, and the fact that the pools were all crowded with people... it just ruined one of the things I like about cruising, which is relaxing in or around a pool.
@JimZim yup EXACTLY like that. Your model trains have been the norm for your channel for so long and you VERY rarely post full videos on real full on trains on the mainline
I have not. Everything Disney does is very high quality, so I'm sure it would be wonderfully done... but everything Disney does always comes at a steep price. Plus... so many kids aboard. I'm 67 now, and that just wouldn't be a good fit for me. For families, though... it would be AWESOME, I would think, as long as they could afford it. But as far as bang for the buck, I would think one of the newer Carnival ships would offer a much better value for families.
We, my grandson and his family, have watched your videos over the last 10 years. I think the introduction of TH-cam kids has a lot to do with the decline of views to your channel. TH-cam kids does not even offer children a chance to watch your videos. I never understood this strange situation. I am sure that the views would increase if you took the opportunity to post your train videos on that platform.

I even went so far as to start a completely new TH-cam channel that was just model train videos for kids... to see if I could get them on TH-cam Kids that way. But no. They have some very definite ideas about what kinds of videos should be on TH-cam Kids and mine do not fit the mold.

@JimZim thanks for the correction. I used to book direct. But once I started using Caitlin I realized she is so much better than booking directly.
