I met Ryan backstage before their show a few nights ago and he's a great guy! I play guitar myself so we had a short conversation about guitars. It was awesome.
Clearly he wasnt given his normal, huge, awesome heads and cabs to play through here.. It sounds like hes playing through a little combo amp or something like that.. And i personally love these kinds of demos because it takes all the high priced gear out of the equation, and brings a good touring guitarist in a big band, back down to earth a bit.. That tone, through a 6505 etc. and a 4x12, probably sounds killer, like on the record..

+stratonut well man that is guitar worlds set up room, and the same gear was sitting behind mark from periphery when he did his playthroughs for them.. So i figured it was just a studio they had and that was their gear, however, when guitarists come in and shoot videos for them they either bring their own or borrow whats available.. I dont know their behind the scenes stories though but the tone doesnt sound like its being played from expensive gear, is all i was saying... But whatever.. Have a nice day man..
Why do they keep using the Orange Micro Terror for these playthroughs?? That's what it sounds like. lol. You guys need to use a real amp. If this is a Marshall, you need a better sound guy.
Every metal band: 9 string guitars For today: don't need those where we're going, get the bridge cables! Seriously though, whoever picked the amp/cab/mic for this needs to watch a tutorial or two. I don't claim to be any good at it but I know what For Today sounds like, this ain't it.
