Wendy is the supportive, real, honest and wise acting mom we all need 😍
So true what you say... Wisdom comes with the years, my mother always said and I'm lucky that I wanted to listen to my parents, although not fully hearted since the didn't support my desire to go to acting school an pushed me to rather go to a "normal" school where I got a degree. Now I'm happy that I can do what I want in acting and still have a steady income to look further for the auditions that grab me by the heart ;)
❤️
SHORT ANSWER: No: you need talent, understanding of the craft - and above all - GREAT working ethics. fin
Ms. Wendy I agree with you on don't need an agree to be an actor / actress. I'm interesting learning about acting auditions, how to get an leading role. I never experience that kind of stuff in my life I went to drama camp when I was 18 it was fun. While I'm working on my GED I still want to learn about everything in a career in acting, filmmaking, playwright. I never been to film festivals before let's talk Business Ms. Wendy & thankyou for making me feel welcome
My drama teacher said I could act...but I find improvising hard, because the ideas just doesn't come up to me just like that.
Xxxt Xxx yeah I'm that person who plans things out first before acting... that's probably one of the reasons why improvising is hard for me
I practice the emotions stuff. And I know I am good at it. I am also good at public speaking. But I never combined those two till now. I guess having a grip of the emotion you need/staying in character IN FRONT of other people (not let yourself get irritated) is the only impossible thing to train alone at home. I HATE theatre but I considered it just for that. But only a impro group is availeble. But acting (my thing) is for me a story and the psychology of the character. That`s my passion: To get into the story till it becomes my reality and creating every layer of the reality of a person within myself. That`s why I am obsessed with stories (books, shows, movies) since my mom started read to me as a child. I love them so much I am trying to write a novel. But acting I love more; it`s "living" it. At least I know what I have to practice like speaking. Self recording really helps by the way (once you get over the cringing part).
Jesus. I️ love the realness but passion you bring to theses videos, I️ just found you this morning and I️ swear I️ have about 5 hours of just watching these videos lol can’t wait to get your book!
Good question I’m thinking of going into acting, my high school English teacher.
Saw potential In me, after doing a class play, and reading the lines so well entertaining my classmates.
My teacher told me I be a great actress.
The great Milos Forman said repeatedly on set, "I don't want to see any Acting". "It MUST BE REAL".
I watch almost all you’re vidoes thanks for all the business help and the reality of it. I’ve Just started my acting career
Thanks for the advice about learning how to pursue an Acting Career and make it to the TV or movie industry. Trust me I'm going to follow my career path by heading off to college and start auditioning. But I will prepare rejections for roles, but I won't give up. I'm also going to study about film and a little bit of culinary arts 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
I got the main part in my school's Christmas play as the Grinch I told people that I was going to be a famous actor some day. I thought people supported me and thought I was good. There was an audition 3 people as competition when my turn came up and I did my work I won over the whole school. People were telling me how good I was they said I never saw you going to Hollywood or being an actor for real's that really showed me I have to act first and talk later.
Hi Mrs Wright,
Thank you for your videos, I appreciate
your time. I learned not every actor/actress lives in a Hollywood mansion.
Oh my God, thank you so much for sharing your knowlege with us! I'm a Brazilian actress and musician, and my family is saving some money for me to go to L.A, but we can't afford college, just acting studios, and I was so concerned about this!
I'm so relieved! Now I know that all I got to do is dedicate my life to become a great actress, and the fact that I can't afford college won't stop me from reaching my goals! Thank you Wendy
There are plenty of ways to afford college- there are grants for students, there are community college. You make the things happen in your life that you want to have happen. No excuses.
Hi Wendy!! This video was so helpful you have so many great tips!!

Wow great advice Wendy thank you so much I am going to work even harder.....
I like this 🔥🔥
I am on the right path cuz I am already taking a business class
Hi Wendy! I'm a massive fan of your videos and I'm so glad you have covered this topic. Right now, I'm very torn between studying Acting at Drama School or accepting my university offer to study a joint honours in Spanish and Drama at university. However, the Drama degree at university is 50% practical and doesn't solely focus on actor training. I've also heard that the course doesn't offer many opportunities to meet agents and directors. I feel that having the major/minor degree would be a sensible option, as you've said, to help financially fund my career if I don't consistently get acting jobs, but I'm worried that if I study the joint honours degree instead of going to Drama school it will put me at a huge disadvantage. Do you believe people that study Drama at University have more of a disadvantage than those that would study at Drama School? Thanks!

Hey I’m a senior in high school. I really want to become an actor. This video helped me a lot in seeing the reality of it all. You said we should major in business to help understand and support ourselves. Would it be smarter to major as a registered nurse to support ourselves financially and have a flexible schedule
I’m pretty sure RNs work a lot and it’s a lot of weird hours
I missed your videos
Well you are in for a treat because I am finally set up top record again OFTEN!
@Geoffrey Lane She has a video for that.
I love your videos!! Thank you so much🙏🏼
You are so welcome!
Amazing advice! Just earned a subscriber!
I always wanted to get an acting degree so this will help me a lot.
Some actors get degrees in Acting and it is very important to them. I am just saying make sure you ALSO study business.
I got a business degree. Hey, it IS a business, right...?
jimwalsh2001 6:44
Wow u are so right
This actually helped Thanks!
If someone doesn't have any experience but they're teachable and have a passion for acting, then will they have a chance to get in to the entertainment business?
Sure. Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, and countless others have become incredibly family's actors with no experience whatsoever. They just happened to have "the look" the directors were looking for and had natural talent.
Very helpful
Gracias
Hey Wendy this Janice grant that’s what I need to do is go to a Theater school.
Hi Wendy, I haven't contacted you in awhile. How can I buy a hard copy of your book? Every time I look it up, it only gives me Kindles and eBooks. Guess I'm too old butt I like to write notes in the actual pages of my books you know like Neanderthals did..
I really want to know tho can you audition for anything even if you have no experience?? Like nothing on your resume..
Love your videos
To become an actor do i need to finish high school ? I just saw your channel and i love love your channel thank u for sharing your videos i hope u see my message id love to start and do something with my life 💚
If you want a job to support your acting career, yes you should stay in school. Child actors are rare and they usually come to you for that.
I love You And YOur Content :)
HELP I’m 18 from Chicago and I can’t decide whether to go study intensively at playhouse west or jus go get a degree in acting at Columbia chicago
What do you think would be a better option
Chicago has great theatre stay there learn your craft
Is graduation important??
thank you!
I don't need a business degree to become a actor
i love acting but i want i have never tried
Too true, I've watched countless actors whom were cast and are not in the least bit believable. Such a subjective art this is... for someone to classify as talent, whereas that person might actually be subpar.
Hmmm nice advice
I'm from kansas. Maybe I can be a believable actor.
You earned a new sub. I already adore your content. 🥹😃
Lol.she said git gud
:)
i love acting but i want i have never tried
