I think the Gunther comment is very unfair. Basically the German he's named after was a U-Boat commander who sank zero tons of shipping, and wasn't confirmed to be in the party. It's a bit like having a US airforce pilot called John Smith. The click bait headlines really had to scrape the barrel to make this comparison work, but it was a catchy headline so everyone ran with it.

WWF/E has spent more of its time succeeded _in spite_ of Vince's booking ineptitude than it did during the occasional spell when he would be able to string together non-inept decisions. Trips has been the heir apparent forever and the half a decade or more that saw Vince furious at Trips because his NXT Takeovers were better than Vince's 'Manias (2016 was basically a squash match, with Takeover Dallas featuring the debut of Asuka, Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe for the title and the legendary Zayn vs. Nakamura match) kind of demonstrated who was better at the gig.

I would also say that the majority of Philly wrestling fans are also insane about their local teams as well.

If i recall correctly, didn't WWE/Peacock make you like sign up for another service to see the promo packages? One of the best things WWE does is the recap packages; especially as someone who gets most of their wrestling fix from OSW and doesn't closely follow the current product, those packages are essential. The brainbuster into the turnbuckle or Braiiiiinbustaaaah! was his big finish as El Generico, so it's him breaking out his big indy move at Mania in Philly, where some folks will have definitely seen it before. Also not every top rope splash is a frog splash! He didn't move his limbs! There's no frog!

If i recall correctly, didn't WWE/Peacock make you like sign up for another service to see the promo packages? One of the best things WWE does is the recap packages; especially as someone who gets most of their wrestling fix from OSW and doesn't closely follow the current product, those packages are essential. Instead I had to watch Doritos commercials or something. Poor move by the fed

I bet a thousand people have already said it but the deal with the Brainbuster in Sami/Gunther is Sami was aiming for the buckle. The brainbuster into the turnbuckle or Braiiiiinbustaaaah! was his big finish as El Generico, so it's him breaking out his big indy move at Mania in Philly, where some folks will have definitely seen it before.
Also not every top rope splash is a frog splash! He didn't move his limbs! There's no frog!
I mean, Gunther's head missed the turnbuckle so it looked awkward to me! Ya el generico used to do it back in the old roh days.

The saddest part about the YEET thing is that it's actually freaking old and not at all trendy at this point. The first time my friend said YEET to me was in 2019, and we're already way too old for that stuff, so even the trademarking in 2021 was already being way late to the party.
