Interesting to put a face to the name and the company. I Finally added a Steinhart to my collection, however, while the quality of the product is great, and the value for your money is outstanding, I've come to realize that their business model does not cater to modders or customers who like to tinker and/or change things on their watches. Their removal of bezel inserts for customers to purchase directly from their website has in turn morphed into an idiotic process where you have to mail your entire watch to Germany for repair/replacement, incurring additional costs and more headache than a simple repair should entail. This in and of itself is enough to completely turn me off the brand entirely. I have had a much better experience with some of their competitors of whom still value their customers after the sale. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) my first Steinhart watch will also be my last.

So this guy woke up one day and thought i will make my living copying the classic Rolex sports watches. Theft of intellectual property. No better than a replica. Get real.
Bezel inserts of high quality watches are snap-on. Steinhart bezel inserts and pips are held with bad glue that fails quick. Also Steinhart bezels have too much play between positions. Fair price and high quality does not seem to go together after all, to my great disappointment :(
@@DJSIC82 Yes but this was supposed to be the one "defying expectations", "cutting out the middleman and selling directly", "disrupting the industry" :)
Everyone's getting angry with me. Listen, Steinhart watches are best value for money. THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY. But in respect to this interview I do not believe them to be a tool watch for life, because of where they had to save money (glue, play in bezel, ETA 2824 having known weakness that breaks if manually wound frequently...).
@@idokwatcher2062 My watch the quality ia abysmal - truely beyond anything than can be imagined. The case is not even symmetrically machine it is totally and diagonally skewed in machining process - wont even go onto the hands they simply do not align. The bracelet fell apart in about two hours of wearing it and I have yet to find springbars that fit and hold the strap in because the case is so inaccurately machined. The brand is the biggest joke in the watch making industry and history.
I am very dissapointed by the quality of my Steinhart Titanium 500 GMT. The bracelet screws kept falling out as they seem to be steel screws going into the softerTitanium Bracelet which is not very intelligent. The case engineering is extremely crude and poor quality it has uneven width of the lugs and has a diagonal twist to its machining (the crown protectors are also unevenly finished top and bottom). The design of the watch makes for an awkward wear... this is the straight lugs .... if they bent downwards the watch would wear much better. There simply is no attention to detail it is like it was designed against a series tick boxes (lume tick) (cermaic bezel tick) (solid end links tick). In my collection of 40 watches this is the stand out lowest quality and most poorly conceived and constructed watch - no other word to describe it but "appauling". The caveat here is I did purchase it pre-owned -but it is the machining and the design choices that I question. The movement and time keeping are OK - gains about 6 seconds a day so no complains. The movement looks quite attractive - but this is the superficial .... deep down it has very flawed engineering and not worth purchasing.
I sent this example back to Steinhart to sort out the many issue (at my own cost). Steinhart admitted to re-aligning the GMT hand. The bezel has also been aligned so now the GMT function is fine. Not sure if they did anything to the case (no serial numbers) the watch is keeping good time but the Titanium case is still rubbish but at least it now holds the spring bars without these flling out. The bracelet you need to size it and then take out all the screws and use loctite to hold them in place and screw back in. Currently do not know what to think .... it was kinda sorted out - superficially it looks great (nice if un-original styling) it seems to be a good movement but the need to sort out a serious Quality Control issue.
This is the worst brand in the watch industry. STRAIGHT COPYING WITH NO REMORSE OR WHATSOEVER. Just making profit of other people's design! All I can say is YIKESSSSS!
Hmmm...snob eh!? Depends on the model. For example what if you want the 5512 sub with an Explorer dial, I've seen one on Chrono24 for $40,000, but typically trade in the low to mid 6 figures. I would never pay that for a 50-60 year old watch, that you would have to baby. But, the Ocean 39 Explorer more than scratches that it with it's beautiful dial. At $500. The watch was discontinued decades ago...it's a win win. Also, I could argue the same is true when it comes to duplicating Some of the modern models of Rolex. 1) Is Steinhart taking money from or hurting Rolex in any way, doubt it, SS models are extremely hard to get your hands on. 2)those that can afford a Rolex, will get one eventually...not even, if you're ok with paying a premium. 3)Now what if you're in a category where money is not an issue or money might be an issue, don't want to spend thousands or can't. This market is in a totally different lane than the Rolex lane. Rolex and it's fans are not being ripped off at the end of the day.

Great watches. I love them no doubt about it. But the customer service communication after the sale is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS!!!
Steinhart customer service is excellent.
I want the Vintage red and the vintage red Bezel
'Tschuldigung...Aber Untertitel wären besser gewesen. Musste wirklich kurz innehalten und überlegen was "Hannes-Prreiss" sein soll.
Hahahahah
The cases are made in Asia ?
Thanks
From internal sources, its made in Switzerland.
The cases are NOT made in Asia.
Steinhart watches are made by PALLADIUM AG - in Lyss Switzerland.
@@quarters-eye8922 "Steinhart Ocean Titanium 500 GMT Premium" please tell me you are kidding - my Titanium case is terrible in machining - it is diagonally skew ao each lug has a unique dimension and angle.
@@GEMINICT Personally, I would not buy a titanium watch. If I were you, I'd return the Watch for a refund and buy the Ocean One Premium Blue. If you are not so inclined......then simply exchange it for another one. PALLADIUM AG produce excellent quality watches for Steinhart.
The Ocean One Premium Blue is a great watch - one you may wish to consider adding to your collection in the future.

Steven
@@quarters-eye8922 Thanks for the info... going to have a look at other Steinhart watches.
sis is a bavarian dude 🤣
ietsj new wotsj i like ze most
should and must get the possibility bla bla bla .... so can you explain that you policy does not even allow to put the watch on my arm ??
So this guy woke up one day and thought i will make my living copying the classic Rolex sports watches. Theft of intellectual property. No better than a replica. Get real.
Hast du das auch an die 75 % anderer Hersteller geschrieben? Z.B. an Seiko?😅
What a lie about copying rolex lmao. Make the dials absolute black and get some 40mm, and please two tone gold and silver.
Bezel inserts of high quality watches are snap-on. Steinhart bezel inserts and pips are held with bad glue that fails quick. Also Steinhart bezels have too much play between positions. Fair price and high quality does not seem to go together after all, to my great disappointment :(
Idok Watcher well what do you expect when you are paying $500 bucks for a watch not $10k lol
@@DJSIC82 exaactly! Ridiculous
How did Steinhart watches start? They picked up a Rolex catalogue and took it too a photocopier and replaced the word Rolex with Shitehard.
You are an utter idiot if you seriously believe that. What a Muppet.
Vikram Halder no own designs though
@@fredriksvard2603 the premium line seems Steinhart own designs.
Eitviltas Janišius nah, just copies of less well known brands
@@fredriksvard2603 ocean two copies of what?
