Brilliant job mate, fast becoming my favourite painting TH-camr. I'd like to see a tau grimdark please man, but maybe a different sept such as kel'shan or vash'ya.
Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT! Mixing the two shades for the flesh looks amazing, and gives the piece a nice focal point. I'm also mesmerized by the ultra close-up shots during the reveal. I'm adding this to my list of reference videos for when i finally workup the courage to paint grim dark.
Thank you, painting grimdark is easier than the way you paint. I just base coat and let all the enamels and washes and rust effects do all the work. I think coloured oil washes would work amazing on the Cthulhu models, not sure if you have every tried them.
@TeddyKGBMiniatures I used I very dark purple oil wash when I painted Azathoth, that I mixed up using alizarin crimson and pthalo blue. It wasn't even close to "grim dark", because of how brightly I painted it. I have some steam punk style minis that I think will look cool painted in a grim dark steam punk style. I still need to try using black oil wash for painting black, like your Tau black armor video. I almost did that on a recent mini, but I changed my mind at the last minute. Thank you for your valuable tips, and ideas!
Yep, the washes really make the model look like you spent way more time on it tan you actually did. Cant wait to try the new phase 2 inks that are coming out soon.
Sorry, don't think I saw the rest of your comment before. I used Kraut Cover - A tale of grimdark. They do a bunch of really good premixed basing products that you just need to dip the base in and your done. Also I have a few videos of both blood and dark angels but for sure will do more soon.
Going to use this scheme for my Slaves To Darkness Chaos Warriors! It’s so good! Just got to decide whether to use a different colour scheme on the cape. But that white with all the blood and grime look so good, I wonder if it would work as well on a red cape or grey one!
Glad you like it! Good question about the cape, I'm actually planning to do a few other factions that will likely have different colours like red. For that not 100% sure yet but i might go for a more oily stains with black/brow/purple specs of grime. Let me know what you go for in the end and how it works out.
@ thanks man. Incredible work by the way. Would like to see you have a crack at Heresy Era Blood Angels. I always think the art in Black Book 8 Malevolence of the BA with very feint intricate patterns on their armour, how could you do such a glorious Legion, but grimdark.
@ funnily enough I stopped collecting about 18months ago so a bit out of the loop. Mr McAngry Miniatures did some great 40K BA. He’s very linked in with the 3D community for BA tho
Never knew how much we needed Gerard Butler to guide us through the grimdark era.
Thank you, I'm his identical twin!
That's one of the most detailed and best looking models I've seen on ypur chanel! All that extra work really paid off.
Thank you, glad you liked it.

Thank you, really appreciate it. I will get the grimdark Tau added to my list, just need to work out what model to do.

Simply gorgeous. Excellent work.
Thank you so much 😀
love the look of this Templar mate, great work
Thank you, glad you like it!
Love how when doing the Grimdark style halfway through it looks like a hot mess, then once the inks and washes go on turns into 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Love the heavy weathered style
Thank you, wasnt sure exactly how it was going to turn out but I'm pretty happy with the end result.
New sub!! Amazing job!! I would love to see how you based this piece as well. Def do Blood Angels/Dark Angels!
