Why would you want to stretch a muscle(scalense) that is already in a lengthened hypertonic state. That would be like being is an excessive anterior pelvic tilt, and stretching your hamstrings.

7 years late...I thought the scalenes are tight and short? Could you please explain (if you're still about)

By looping the band in the anterior aspect would that not create an anterior distraction force through the femur into the acetabulum? From my understanding, please correct me here if I am mistaken, most individuals in Anterior Pelvic Tilt (with short/tight/stiff/facilitated iliopsoas) demonstrate partial bias to anterior acetabular glide. Would a posterior distraction not be more beneficial to assist 'normal' congruency within the socket?

he is trying to create opposition at the acetabulum. Therefore by getting thoracic extension and placing the arm over head the pelvis is lifting as the femur tracks forward. Getting relative joint motion. If the joint doesn't move function wont improve

Could you please film your entire body in these videos?
I can tell you are doing something but I can't see below the middle of your chest.
