Thanks! Looking forward to seeing you play this more as there's so much to do in it, especially the Star Player and High School modes. If there's anything else you want help with let me know or send me a DM on Twitter/X and I'll be glad to help where I can.
@CheckedSwing i just bought this and will be coming to USA next week. The game looks so amazing. Are we able to edit how long season is? I saw it's 144 games. Ia that correct
I haven't seen a way to change the season length from the standard 144 games. I just tried adding 2 more teams to each league but looking at the schedule it still works out to the same amount of games. You have to have a minimum of 6 teams per league too so you can't shorten the season either.
@@iichevalier2641 nice, hope you enjoy it! I'm working on a cheer song video currently but can do a Star Player one after. There's a lot to cover in it so it may take a little longer but I can go over the basics to get you started.
Great video! I have played this series since 2013 and the batting has always been good out of the box; however this year, the ball feels like it is heavy, making hitting hard! This video is right on time!
@@buckmelanoma758 thanks for the kind words! I can do, I've gotten a lot of different requests for things so I can add this to the list but apologies if takes a while to come out. When I'm home from work I'll load up the game and go through the setting so I can at least give you a quick answer here.
Bat sensitivity at Lvls 0-2 is perfect 2 being the sweet spot where you can gets hits and HRs etc. i would also change the COM difficulty to Hard for a more competitive match & even more competitive if you change the Real pitch point etc lots of FUN
Also the pitch speeds at hard to make it more competitive and take off the pitch curso indicator that shows you exactly where the ball is going to land, even though the ball is still visible and shows where the ball might land its still difficult to place the barrel because of pitch movement which is fine
Sensitivity at 1-2 feels pretty good. I'm glad there's so many options to tailor the difficulty to whatever level you feel comfortable with. Hope you've been enjoying the game!
@@CheckedSwing Yes! Is awesome 👏🏼, did you know you can tap or pick up the rosin bag in between pitches, and also basically over throw any pitch you want for more velocity but control decreases which is real to life and stamina as well. There’s like 8 different shifts and no pausing the game for adjustments infield, each switch moves the 3Basemen in/out at different distances. One more cool thing, you can throw the ball into the crowd if the final out is made in the outfield, by holding triangle/circle at the same time.
I didn't know you could throw the ball into the crowd on purpose on the last out, that's amazing! Most stuff I'm pretty up to date on as a lot of it is the same as the 2019 and 2021 versions so thankfully it hasn't been too much of challenge working things out but it's great to see someone so knowledgeable about the game giving some great advice in the comments, is much appreciated!
While stats will play a factor in this you can do things like change the ball speed or increase the hitting assist until you get more comfortable. Try not to swing at everything either as once the count gets in your favour there's a higher chance of a better pitch to hit. A players contact and power stat will play a large role but there's also other stats like trajectory that can influence a hit ball too. The training options offer a great way of getting used to speeds and locations of all the pitchers so it's also worth spending some time there so you can practice easier than during actual games.
I noticed when you select zone hitting the game has a description with it that doesn’t translate well. I think it’s trying to say on this mode you can’t hit a home run?
I'm pretty sure you should still be able to hit home runs with zone hitting, there was another commentor who was having trouble hitting and after switching to zone they were able to hit home runs. I personally haven't played with zone for longer than maybe 10 minutes but when I squared a ball properly they were going far, it depends mostly on the players stats I think.
hello, my defender always auto throws, how do I turn it off? can you make a video? or can you make a video to explore user settings and com settings? thank you.
For the auto throw, I'm pretty sure you need to go to the 6th option in user settings. Then the top option allows you to change the level of assist for defense. Top is full manual control, then assisted where it'll help move you to the ball, next is auto catch which will get the ball for you but not throw and finally auto which will do everything for you. I'm working on a pitching video currently but can do one on all the other settings in the future as there's a lot of options to go through.
Have you tried to tinker with the settings to make the gameplay more realistic? I find a lack of balls and foul balls with default settings, so pitch count is too low
I've not played around with them too much as I've been enjoying how I have it currently, but when I've increased the ball speed and had no hitting assists on I would often foul off way more balls. CPU pitching really depends on too many factors like difficulty, condition and stats for both pitcher and catcher and how many hits, runs, etc they've given up. I see more wildness in the high school mode too as they lack the control so there's a lot more balls.
My problem hitting is that the ball path indicator makes it too easy, but the hard mode without the ball path is waaay too hard, and there’s nothing in between:-/
You could try having only the blue indicator on and not the ball path or if that's still too easy ramp the ball speed up so pitches come in and break faster. There should be enough options to tweak where you'll find a nice middle ground but it does take some time to figure out what suits you.
It's under the match settings either in game or if you go into them before a game starts. The heaviest ball is the bottom of the four options, for a visual look it's at 4:07 in the video.
I personally leave it on the default setting and increase the ball speed/lower the assist level, that way big well timed hits are still rewarded and it makes for a more enjoyable at bat.
God I wish this game was fully in English, it’s too annoying to sit and keep lifting your phone up to translate. Hopefully they change this next go around cause with how bad The Show was this year, they’ve got a market here for English speakers
It would be great if they could but due to a lot of licensing issues it's almost a non existent chance of a fully English version coming out in the west. The best we could hope for is Konami get a MLB licence much like they have for the new MLB Spirits mobile game and bring out a MLB version on consoles and PC. Would be good competition for The Show.
I didn't explain it in the video I think so don't worry! On the main menu select Settings then the first button. Choose the top option next then the left option. At the bottom of here is the COM settings. The top option here allows you to set the difficulty - Weakest Weak Normal Strong Stronger Spirits (Hardest) Custom - game will adjust based on your play If you set this here it should translate to all the other modes that use your User settings. There are some modes that will ask you at the start to set the difficulty before you begin. Even if you do skip it or want to change it you can just go to the User settings again in the mode and adjust it to your liking.
For most modes I'll keep it on 1-2 but have the ball speed a little higher along with the difficulty on strong or stronger, it feels like a fair challenge then. Some modes like Star Player depending on the save I'm using I'll increase the speed again but turn the assist off along with a few of the on screen indicators so I'm not just hitting 100 homeruns a season 😂
Thank you for the video it helped me a ton. I was just curious though. I’m using bat cursor with assist level 3 and it feels pretty good but I tried zone hitting because I loved that in MLB the show and I scored 18 runs with a lot of home runs which isn’t realistic. Is there anyway to make zone hitting harder? I’m using strong settings for everything
Good to hear it's helped you out! I haven't used zone hitting very much but I would guess changing the ball speed and removing the pitching location indicators would increase the challenge. As you don't have to move the cursor and instead have to rely on timing and where the ball will be pitched to to make good contact, removing any visual help and making the balls come in a lot faster might possibly be what you're looking for. Do let me know how you get on as I'm interested in hearing how other players are playing the game and what settings people land on.
@ Awesome thank you I’ll definitely give those settings a try and get back to you. Another question, is there a way to throw the ball harder while pitching? Like a hard throw option? I think I remember seeing it in the tutorial but I can’t get it to work
Not a problem! You can throw a harder pitch by holding the direction of whichever pitch you select until the blue text appears near the pitch selection indicator. If it's a secondary pitch you want to max throw just keep R1 held down when selecting one.
@@CheckedSwing I played 3 games with zone hititng, no visual help, one button pitching, and real speed pitching and I love it so far. I lost 6-3, Won 3-2, and Won 6-1. It feels pretty realistic so far but I’ll keep playing and see how it goes.
The only new ones are wide versions of the TV and normal camera. Technically there's 9 pitching and 9 batting but they're variations of TV broadcast or the normal camera like center, dynamic, etc. I booted up 2019 and there's 7 pitching/batting with variations again so nothing major has been added.
I don't think so unless it's a combination of buttons I'm not pressing. Even the slightest tap of either of the 2 hitting buttons results in a full swing each time.
There's 3 ways - 1. Get a physical PS5 version from Japan from somewhere like Amazon, Play Asia or other online stores. 2. Create a Japanese PSN account and purchase it from the PS store using credit (unless you have a Japanese credit card). There are sites that you can buy the credit from that email you the code with 24 hours. 3. For Steam, use a VPN and create a Japanese Steam account and make sure the region is set there too. I've read you may have to purchase is through the browser rather than the client itself but I can't say for certain as I only have the PS5 version. Hopefully this helps, if not then there's some topics on Reddit and the Steam forums that have a more detailed explanation.
