I do like the time display in its own area with the date above. Sometimes a person just wants the time. Looks sturdy so I hope that the alarm volume is not compromised.
Coincidentally, I was wearing mine when I ran across your great review. I love this watch. I find it very comfortable to wear and its dize and design is a great fit on my wrist. I don’t know if its the same thing for all HD models, but on another channel the reviewer opened it up and there’s a stainless steel reinforcement throughout the whole resin case. The reviewer speculated that due to this, thus watch would not be easily squished and would most likely survive being run over by a truck. The 200m WR is possible due to the mineral class and the fact that the buttons are fitted with double o-rings. That brings it close to a G-Shock though it’s not. On a G the module has more protection, it’s more “cushioned”. But the case itself is definitely more durable than on non-HD Casios. I think it’s construction is very sturdy and maybe due to its weight, I believe one can feel this sturdiness with the watch in hand. In short, a well built, solid, handsome watch from Casio. I highly recommended it. BTW, the firmware on my G-Shocks GD-100 and GD-400 is also the 3198. Only difference is that on the 100 the little numbers above are 1 and 12, while on the 400 they’re 1 and 13. On our DW-291H those numbers are 1 and 10.
Thank you for sharing so much information. Awesome! This is one of the reason why I enjoy posting videos on TH-cam:) About the HD marking, currently I'm reviewing the MW600F, which is also an HD model. I opened the case back but did not find any reinforcement inside (maybe it's inside the resin case, I don't know). But anyway, yes, the basic concept of early G-Shock is the triple 10, and these HD models are quite close to that. And thanks for sharing about the GD100 and GD400; I don't have those models in my collection. That's really interesting that those Gs have similar firmware to the AE1000, AE1200, and so on, and even the twin graph LF20.
@@SamsWatchReview look for the channel GS en Español on youtube. The episode is about 3 yrs old and is called “Lo que esconde el DW-291”. Even if you don’t speak Spanish you can see him disassembling the watch and showcasing the stainless steel reinforcement in the case. It’s easily visible Curious to see your HD MW-600. Maybe Casio doesn’t have a strict set of parameters to define what an HD watch is.

Yes, much like DW9052.
About the beep volume, it is less than the AE1200 (100M WR)

Thank you, let me check that one. Great info!
Another amazing review. Btw what is your wrist size ? Just to get an idea. Mine is 6.5 inches. Will this watch be too large?
My wrist size is slightly under 7". I think it's still okay on a 6.5".
Which one do you prefer? Casio AE-2000 or this
Ae2000 :D
It works well on a large wrist.
Yes it is
Why you not review Timex Ironman ??
Thanks for the idea, but currently I still have no plan to get one of them.
