I got bit by a feral cat. Didn't seem bad at first, despite being pretty deep, but it took almost a month to fully heal and there is still a hard spot where the bite was.
I got bit fierce by a cat once, likely hangry because it was on a diet. I bled profusely and while at the sink dealing with the hand wound I got bit in the leg for good measure.
The only non-venomous bite worse than a cat bite for humans are other humans, I'm pretty sure. My boss at the shelter had multiple spots on his finger where bad cat bite infections completely killed the nerves and he has lost all feeling. The bacteria in cats' mouths are similar to what humans have in their body, so when in an open wound, the body does not detect them as bad and doesn't fight them. Since cat teeth are so needle-shaped, the wounds close up quickly and the bacteria can't bleed out. At both shelters I volunteer at I was instructed to instantly go to a doctor even if the teeth just grazed me, since it can get so highly dangerous.

I'm always impressed that so many of the cats just sit there and take it. Every cat I've ever had to wrangle into a bath has tried to run screaming into the night and under the nearest small space.
Oh, yeah. I have a cat, and since she’s an indoor kitty, we only bathed her once when we first got her. My dad had scratches all over his hands. Here’s to hoping she never needs bathed again, for both our sakes
My best advice is to get into the bath with your cat, and keep them close. Even if that means they crawl over top of you, after a while they give up all hope of escape and let you do as you will. My cats have gotten used to it and just sit there, occasional meow, cuddle up to me but that’s it
None of my cats have tolerated a bath. They've all tried to run or they've screamed like they were being murdered. Even my most tolerant cat who put up with being manhandled by my then-toddler son.
Back in the early 70's my mother and I decided to bathe "Momma Cat". Momma Cat was cooperative at first. We shut the bathroom door, put her in the tub turned on the water and started to bath her. After about 5 minutes of sudsing her up she had enough. We did get her rinsed of the soap then she turned. First biting, then her claws came out. She clawed and bit my mother and I and we had a horrible time getting out of the bathroom. My mother and I were screaming, and the cat was in a full on attack mode. We made it out with multiple scratches and bites. After drying off and being released from the bathroom a couple hours later she was as sweet as pie. We never bath her again.
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 Yeah, my Mother, and Sister once bathed my sisters cat, and, by the end of it, they looked like they’d been in a battle with Wolverine; that was around 10+ years ago, and they still have the scars to show for it…needless to say, it was the last bath she had haha. The same cat once got something sticky in her fur, so I held her, while my sister used a wet wipe to clean off the substance; in the whole 45 seconds, or so, that it took to clean off the the gunk, I both looked, and felt, like I’d been catapulted through a razor blade factory. But, despite her complete aversion, to any kind of bathing by us, whenever one of us was in the bath, she had to be there, with it often looking like she was getting ready to jump in the tub with us; you had to be constantly on guard, because I can only imagine the scars I’d have had, if she’d leapt in the bath, panicked, and then tried to claw her way out, using my body as a climbing frame haha. She was insane, but also fantastic.
Commendable that you removed the hamster globe SEVERAL times to give her opportunities to adjust to the grooming. Cats are cats though and we are thankful you got through this with as few scratches as possible!

I suspect my shelter-adopted Norwegian was the product of a kitten mill. She's thankfully healthy, but that also means she doesn't really know how to be a NWF lol. She's kitten sized despite being from a gigantic breed and, most of all, she'll sit there meowing in confusion while being bathed. Not distress or hatred, just "Why? What is this liquid? Why am I here??"
my 9 year old cat "Bandit" was sitting on the floor by my feet when I started watching this video. When the growling started, he immediately sat up ears pointed straight up, looked up at the computer then at me and started walking around the room looking for the owner of the growling. Then he walked out the room probably in search of the another cat or his food dish
She sounds like my engine when I forget it's running and crank it again. Other than the sailors' mouth and fluff-fu, she seems surprisingly workable (no parkour, writhing, bouts of energetic kitty drama).
I use you angry flood videos as inspiration for trying to groom my own, I have 3 Maine coons and one has much longer hair and gets very matted and takes a lot of grooming... But your videos fill me with hope ...
If you have Maine coons, there is hope. They generally love water, if you introduce it properly. I miss my maine coon buddies, but because of my daughter bringing home other cats (and boys, to boot), I can't have a Maine Coon. Pet limits are there for a reason.

I'm always impressed that so many of the cats just sit there and take it. Every cat I've ever had to wrangle into a bath has tried to run screaming into the night and under the nearest small space.
My cat must be an anomaly. She's fine getting a bath. She hasn't ever bitten or clawed at me.
My cat had to be bathed on occassion, and she would tear through the thicc heavy duty construction gloves I sued. Literally.
That's where Phoebe from friends wrote - SMELLY CAT.

I once tried to bathe my ginger sweetheart, a cat that even walked on leash.
He turned into a furry chainsaw the moment he _heard_ the water running
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 A "furry chainsaw." I love that!

Yeah, my Mother, and Sister once bathed my sisters cat, and, by the end of it, they looked like they’d been in a battle with Wolverine; that was around 10+ years ago, and they still have the scars to show for it…needless to say, it was the last bath she had haha.
😂😂 her confused “What the hell??” expression as you’re putting on the hamster ball (the second time) 😂😂
Commendable that you removed the hamster globe SEVERAL times to give her opportunities to adjust to the grooming. Cats are cats though and we are thankful you got through this with as few scratches as possible!
I love when you say "you lost your privileges" and hamster mode for Mia 😂
2:08 my eyes would have swollen shut. Im not allergic to anything else on the planet but when I get the slightest amount of cat dander in my eyes, its over..
I have a Norwegian and he will literally jump into the bathtub with me LOL ❤
Mine hates the water you're so lucky 😭 To be fare, he's scared of everything lmao
My Tomcat does it too - The little maniac loves water!
My maine coon did that as well. She was my first kitty. I was totally unprepared for the "normal" cats I loved after her passing.
Norwegian Forest cats are known for taking baths in the jacuzzi with their owners so that does not surprise me.
“You lost your privileges” had me laughing so hard😂
I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the scene of you scratching her while blow drying her.
Mia and her little potty mouth, “fluff you!” Love it 🤣
The meow backs from the groomer always gets me 😂😂
you meowing back at cats.... it fills me with joy
my 9 year old cat "Bandit" was sitting on the floor by my feet when I started watching this video.
I am slightly jealous, ngl. Wish my cat would tolerate a bath.
I love that I'm not the only one that cannot help but meow back at cats when they are vocalizing
I couldn’t help but giggle when her growling seemed the echo in the bubble!
My cats always look so concerned during these videos, bless their hearts. 😁
I really do enjoy watching you groom angry floofs 😂
I don't want you to get hurt but I freaking love sassy cats! My cat is sassy and my goodness I love her for it. They're like a free source of entertainment 😂
Oh that makes me miss my cat sooooo much (been gone for 9 years, but always in my heart, getting misty eyed right now). He was the King of sass! 😸👑
Re: this channel, it's the cats and the huskies that are my favorites, usually (although the unusual animals are fun, too). They just seem to have the most personality on average.
3:10 Thats the first time I have ever seen a cat slow blink and growl at the same time!
I suspect she is so good at sounding angry, she can just relax while she does it 😂
I love your sense of humor.
Years ago I got in the middle of a cat and dog disagreement and was tagged multiple times by the cat - very deep very nasty bites. I don’t remember what antibiotics they put in that shot but I had to get it in my rear and it burned all the way down to my ankle.
Her face is so floofy her fur sticks out of her space helmet! I love her
i just found this channel and cannot stop watching
As a fellow Mia who also gets hangry, I totally relate to the growling and swats! 😂😂 I may or may not have growled and hissed when hungry! 😤😂
Mia, Mia might be your spirit animal!
@@AnIdiotsLantern I think so too!! 😂😂
I’m with you !
Yes but have you shaved you sanitary areas and paw pads?
Same
Just a mound of angry fluff. I love her.
Those were some strong hisses! Like, she was letting some deep emotions through! 😂
kitty means it :) like, "get away, this is serious." I guess the growl is less intense of a warning! A growl is the cat communicating she is not happy. I'm a cat person but my cat rarely growled if ever, so im not sure. But Mia's case is pretty clear: growl means, im not happy, getting angry. Hiss means I'm gonna get ya if you don't back away right now :D
Mia was a Pallas cat in her previous life. She’s upset that she’s domestic in this life and must be groomed by the human peasants. She’s absolutely gorgeous, though🥰
What?
@@reyesrivera2588 Pallas' Cat is a wildcat species of Central Asia to the Middle East, known for its low-lying ears and very expressive face. Very fluffy and inquisitive cat species, 10/10. Mia (who looks like she has Norwegian Forest Cat and Persian ancestors herself) was probably just really nervous, maybe she had a bad experience with a previous groomer.
She's even got the Pallas cat face, too.
@@nievesshiratama3964 she really does
Thank you for always treating your critters with love, respect, and kindness. Sending you hugs from Vancouver!
"My ancestors were worshiped as gods."
Hamster ball
""Well, this isn't turning out as anticipated."
She is a dangerous lady! Oooh I love her whiskers! So long!
I love cats. Cat pictures, cat videos, whenever I see a cat anywhere it makes me so happy ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah, tbh that's the main draw for the cat videos on this channel, for me. "This channel + cats."
My friend is a veterinarian anytime she's bit by a cat, she's on a round of antibiotics. You have amazing reflexes. Another nice job.
She went from "no" to "hell no" to "ahhhhhhh" and then right back to "hell no" 🤣 emotional damage Rollercoaster 🤦🏾♀️ you are a true animal warrior! Love the video! Gorgeous pet of the day 😍
Every single time I see a cat described as sassy, my mind goes back to homeward bound.
I love that Mia somewhat cooperated after she got a snack lol 😂
She was actually really good. She could have got you so many times right before she actually did. She must like you. I like your gentle manner. I also enjoyed hearing the cameraman talking to her as well. Too funny. Love your channel.
Yeah, she's even tempered for a fiesty kitty. No rage cage for her
I love your cat grooming videos
I love how you communicate back to her in meows. So cute
That hiss, at 3:03, says it all 🤣 Mia says, "I've really had enough of you!"
I just wanna say thank you me and my family have been going thru a rough patch in life mentally, physically and financially ur videos help me so much thank you
Hangry is such a good word for being angry because you are hungry
She almost look like a Palace Cat when she closes her eyes when being dried.
@1:06 YES. My daughter's cat bit me when I was trying to put him in his cage for ride home. I washed the puncture wounds and poured hydrogen peroxide on it and drove cat home. Next day my hand looked like a catchers mitt and had to go to a medical clinic for antibiotics.
Vanessa: you're mean!
Mia: *slow blink*
2:03 Mia: Fluff you, you fluffing fluffer, you!
2:21 she's like "I don't need your pity...but I'll take it anyway."
0:16 OMG Everything in that cat's expression from within the hamster bowl is so- "I Been Done Wrong!"
ROTFLMAO
“You’re a very sassy lady” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
2:34 The best shot!!
Btw, I wear a thick canvas jacket and a flannel underneath when I have to bathe my cat-- Your bare arms and her growls definitely made me nervous.
2:58 = anger loaf 🍞
I love how she continuously tries to sneak away like you can't see her lol!
The eyes chico, they never lie.
hugs for the girls with the pets
Love the space helmet. Definitely cuts down on having to go to the ER for a at bite. Or having to pour copious amounts of rubbing alcohol on it or doing both.
My mom once had her arm swell up after she gave my cat a bath.
I think I'll just buy the hamster ball myself. Or better yet pay a professional to do it
I showed this video to my cat…told him if he didn’t behave whilst I brushed him, he’d get sent to space 🚀
i love how you respond back everytime it meows lol it lets them know that you at least respect its existence lol
4:07 "but Mya's kitty timer was run out" LOL!
I ended up with cat scratch fever after sneezing when my cat was sleeping by my head. She attached herself to my face with tooth and claw. Nothing happened at first but over 24 hours later I was unrecognisable. My eyes could barely open and my face was swollen and bruised. My friend called me the elephant woman once I’d confirmed it was me!!!!!
Omg 🤭🤭🤭 so gruesome. If i get a cat im keeping it far from my face
average cat owner experience
Better you than me..I have a cat and can barely do his claws! Thanks for sharing!!
I think it's because you are their servant. My cat hates having him paws touched but the vet stuns him into acceptance.
I don’t know why I enjoy your videos so much but I do. I guess I just enjoy watching someone who is braver than I am!!
Mia's adorable and she's got a gorgeous coat!! But she's no spicy Mayo, and I bet you're glad for that!! Can confirm cat bites are no joke. Ours bit my hubs and two days later, his arm was red and sore. ER gave him heavy duty antibiotics and he's ok. Cats are just furry Komodo dragons irl!
I agree!!
The fact you can keep them there for so long is admirable. The moment i try giving meds or comb any of the cats at the shelter a little they flip and run
