So what is your next step? Crown Falls? New World? Enbessa? Slowly takeover all the islands with money and influence? Either way, it's been enjoyable to watch.

I agree. His insights make gameplay go so much better for me. And the long gameplay is wonderful

I really don't understand why you occupied that island but you didn't build anything in there! And you leave it attacked by your enemies? Why?

Why not attach a timestamp to your question? I have no idea. Maybe it was the takeover with shares, where I did not account for it not having a peacetimer?

So, couple more comments. You sell ships but not regularly. you talk about liquidity in early game being a big challenge and leading to a need to idle normally to build capital... 2 shipyards pumping at all times... from like 20 min in or something if you start with no ship, like I do.
Coffee and caoutchouc can both be produced in hacienda, so your hesitancy to build rubber balls for artistas and world cups is unwarranted.
power on initial island should be planned for from the start and that steam shipyard really should be built earlier.
You can be significantly be more efficient and impactful with your first materials of the grade up, like your first 150 concrete is really important it's similar with glass, iron and even bricks etc. but you stockpile insanely, this is similar with everything, if you have full inventory of hundreds of items on an island it's very wasteful.
ships have high upkeep and you have to extract value out of them, you group military vessels somewhat poorly and massively overbuild static defense. 1 ship of the line and 1 flame turret can defend against very large sailing fleets, VERY large. (I had Margaret with a fleet of something like 5 gunboats 3 frigates and 3 ship of the lines, maybe more and 1 flame turret 1 frigate, 1 ship of the line for me and large trade harbor (biggest in embessa? was enough) your flak cannons, do they EVER fire? (the only thing you can really do with airships is other airships. it's just wasted influence and maintenance. it's better to build docklands cranes because they do not require influence as well, and take up less harbor space, but that is not viable in all harbors.
It's possible to maintain more friendly relations with the AI, Alonso you just sink ships (any ships, he likes) you can bribe and compliment and quest vince and margie up to trade and then just buy shit and dump it in the sea. you can also overwork population and have high apm for vince and let your pop get sick for marge.
if you discover the pirate before artisans build artisans right away and immediately send expeditions. you can complete the first 2 with schooners easily. they are a bit slower than frigate but you can typically start the expedition sooo much earlier that it doesn't matter. start trading watches early, like really early if you are going to and you can have millions much earlier, also if you have 1 million and a peace flag don't trade 50 manually, automate it... but trading ships is also enough to get you cooking pretty hard early on, and you had 1 and then 2 shipyards anyways. You are very slow out of OW and that is catastrophic for difficulty. no herbs or orchids, no lobster, honey, peppers etc in embessa... not without a fight. You can get 3 islands in embessa and fully developit basically before the AI even arrive.
you can trade gold from anne to nate in trelawney at a 3x profit, I think, something like that and this will allow you to maintain positive relationship with the pirate right away as soon as you can trade, even if you buy pirate flags and start pirating her ships for loot and rep with alonso. You can buy a spyglass from nate and range extending specialists from anne and then build 1 battlecruiser and immediately kill all the AI fully. you simply take your fleet to protect your BC and yoru BC kills their bases from outside of range, it's extremely easy. this requires no influence (in the way that buying out an island does) and you can actually go into a huge influence deficit taking every island and completely eliminating opponents or working them down to 1 island, weakening them. then you can simply loot and delete the harbor to recover the influence and abandon the island. you can of course keep islands with important fertilities or abundance of space, or nice locations or whatever, but it lets you absolutely dominate the AI EASILY.
You know mail is profitable, but you don't develop airships right away and start sending international and regional mail (for WAY MORE profit), also, even the most basic airship out of NW sells for 600,000... so building 1 and selling continuously, which can be done with very little aluminum sail and helium production (1 helium mine and 2 smelters can do it) you can spam sell them and support significant negative income early on... trading watches, gold, etc also allows this. even trading via docklands can do this (I sell sausages usually on first trade, bringing them in serially for whatever i have the most of to unlock more trading and I just sell them to get them out of inventory fast, for a decent profit usually.
There is no better open naval warfare vessel than the pryphorian battlecruiser, you sold the specialist right away when you were super lucky to get her from Anne in a quest... tsk tsk. you can still get through scholars/ research institute but why? selling your first one is bad form. - I already said this elsewhere.
So There are a few areas of opportunity for you both with regards to general strategy and execution. Hope none of this is discouraging, It's such a cool game, I very much wouldn't want to take anything away from it for you.

There is also several townhall and trade union items that are available from archie, like -50% maintenance for all production for +60% fire chance... (soo worth it) and a bunch of increased workforce and income stuff for town halls, sense you are actually using both. You can get some from anne too for fishery and slaughterhouse I think.

@@jonaspiva41 You know I did a lot of Ultimate Expert speed-runs right? I am playing this game series to enjoy it.
A few observations: I am free building how I see it fit in the moment. I like the enjoyment of seeing the game grow and have a balance act that satisfies the way forward. The OP fire cannon breaks this,. The item to build high end steam ships I considered of non value for my current aims. Rubber balls I find out about later in the series, NWR is still a relative new DLC. Over several islands I do build dockland cranes, in stead of normal ones. Killing all the AI fully in a fast sweep, why would I even play a series then? The friendly relations with AI I do late game, I am fine with them in war, it makes the game vibrant.
In this game series I was completely not looking for fast expansion, be it NW, be it CF, be it passive income from watches. Over time I did consider the passive income as a nice extra, to offset the network building, but I did consider it no longer of significance for the game development.
So, all in all, it seems we have a complete mismatch in the choices of enjoying the game.
Maybe take a look at the channels of for example GamerConsultant, Rob, Fox or Taka, they strategize way more, maybe you will find yourself more at home with them.

@@jasperwillem yes, its not neccessarily a question of ability, but style.
You also have the range items, and the fact is... winning is winning, its not like you were losing.
It seemed inconsistent or confused lol the nw rising is definitely the most recent and for me least explored possibly as well.
I am suprised you dont mention nivarias, but maybe not, sense i dont see his influence.
I will check out those others you mentioned that i am unfamiliar with, but I am familiar with most, it's all stolen juice (not really but there is a lot) i even steal from you.
If people want to have an easier time in certain ways they can follow my tips. Depending on goals and ability, but quite obviously no one has too.
I didnt see other ultimate expert content from you, might look. Anyways, keep playing! Lol, be safe and have fun.
