I have been playing drums properly for about 2 and a half years, Self taught (i've never taken a lesson) all filming and editing was done by myself in my 'home studio'. I used my custom built kit that I built from scratch with Tiki shells, wood hoops and gilbratar hardware. Meinl Cymbals (All specs are on my channel page)
If you want to know how I record/mix my drums, I use the exact same method as Joey Sturgis... Google it :']
Thanks for watching and Please subscribe and check out my other drum covers =]

Well, that is some badass quality you have got there, one of the greatest drum covers. It is so clean n stuff. Never seen smth like that in a while
awesome cover!!
You sir Adam are spot on! =] The bell is triggered but not sure if anyone else can hear it but you can kind of hear the 'natural' bell from the OH's behind the triggered one.
Triggered = Kick/snare/Bell.. 'Natural' = Overheads and toms =]
sick drums, sick drumming, sick song
Fuckin' awesome dude. Didn't miss a note! I think it's really cool how you're self-taught and have your own custom made kit. That's fucking badass! Keep doing covers like this, you're really good bro.
Nice job man, well done! I've been playing this song for a month or so and it is so fun to play! Hope to see more songs from you soon! Maybe some: Hands Like Houses, Miss May I, August Burns Red, etc.. Keep it up!
holy shit, as soon as you started I loved the sound of your drums!
I think it all sounds pretty awesome! Much better than most of the drum covers out there. All I would suggest is either turning up the volume of the cymbals in the mix or maybe turning down the reverb just a bit so the drums don't overpower the cymbals.
I would also turn down the reverb on the snare a bit regardless. Its just a bit much (not that I'm hating!). I might also tighten it up just a tad. I think a little more crack will sound awesome with the reverb!
Such an amazing kit!
You did a great job. It looks like it cost a bunch.
I tried personalizing mine by ripping off the wrap and staining it.
Any drummers out there that have a not so expensive kit can definitely make theirs
look unique by removing the wrap, sanding it down and painting/ staining it. Kudos
i loved the sound of your snare .....
He doesn't trigger as far as I know. He just mic's up the kit properly and applies compression, EQ, reverb, the usual processing in his DAW. And Lee, if you're reading this, it's Adam Nesbitt from Facebook and the forum haha
I like the sound. Studio Quality ftw
dude your sound sounds amazing
definatly needs more views! so good dude!
im in love with your drum kit :')
This cover is perfect man, and the way you've recorded/triggered your drums sounds really good. I actually watched your cover a bunch of times so I could perfect the fills when playing the song, and I was wondering if you could explain how to do one of them because its the only one I'm not sure I'm doing right: the 2nd drum fill during the main breakdown (put your hands where I can see them) when its doing the 16th notes on the feet.
Bad ass druming. Sounds just alike
Bought mine about a year ago =]
It's a Byzance Traditional. Sounds great!
really wish he hit the tiny bell once lol...great cover dude!
If I have time I will definitely do this!
amazing!!! i like it!!
This is sick 100% drum hit,bro \m/
Dude AWESOME! thanks for the comment on mine btw!
Thanks man! One is a Meinl high and one is a Zilbel.
I've been playing 2x as long as you and you're so much better than me.
your self tought that gives me hope :') thank you
you are my inspiration
Love the kit man! I just covered this song on drums as well. Wish I had those hoops!
love this sound :)
Meinl isn't cheap and the kit sounds amazing
Woooowww c: dude. You're freakin awesome.
Dude you're killer!
your bass drum is perfect....
Nice one bro! :D
It's pretty simple after a few goes if your a beginner, just on the china hit, hit two 16th notes straight after and then repeat on the floor tom. so, it's just R (china) R L (High tom) R (china) R L (Floor tom).
Thanks for the kind words man! =D
Well done man!
Next cover tomorrow yeah? ;)
The snare is miced on the bottom (resonance) head, triggered on the top head. And the bottom mic is blended with a sample I made of that snare, and slate.
Noted for my next cover =]
Thanks for the Constructive crit!
I'm sorry, obviously everyone commenting saying they sound 'awesome' and 'perfect' are wrong. ERMAHGERD! YOU SIR ARE CORRECT.
DUDE, you have a band or something? :o BEAST!
Ahh thank you man you've explained it where I can understand perfect (: I'm gonna subscribe to your channel
I like how this is like 80% sampled
idk but you looks like I see stars's drummer, andrew oliver. I love you
BADASS!!!!!!!
It's blended slate with my kit, and it's not quantized, if you can't see the slight mistakes I make, I don't know what to say.
But thanks for the comment.
Thanks. It's custom made by myself, I build drumkits.. Website (Drumkits, Samples, and recording/mixing rates) will be up soon!
no worries :)
Awesome Cover! I actually just posted a cover of my own about a week ago! Keep up the good work. I'll be on the lookout for new videos! :)
Impossible! That bass drum was made by the gods of Valhalla
Wow Thanks a bunch man! That really means a lot!
Assuming its a custom kit. But I'm curious to know why you've got 10 lugs on the top half of your floor tom and six or eight on the bottom? Never seen that done before.
Awesome cover by the way.
Not the fill where you hit the bell twice but the one right after. The one with 2 sets of two tom hits. I would appreciate it if you can help bro!
Dude nice cover, you should cover the lesson never learned by asking Alexandria (Y)
dude i thought it sounded Dope and then i realized it could go on HD i almost shit my self! great cover man!!
I'm planning on doing so soon =D
SHIT ignore that, I wasn't thinking.
He samples his own kit, records his drum takes, then triggers the kick, snare, tom tracks with his own kit's samples (for consistency). His overheads sound real, his bells might be triggered but I have no idea
where is your placement for the kick mic? it sounds great!
Read down the comments, the actual bell wasn't prominent enough in the mix and I sell my own cymbal sample packs, so I put my Zilbel (hadn't sampled the High bell) sample over the top. You can hear the original bell in the background also. But cheers for the comment fella.
I like to live dangerously ;]
But nahh, new covers are gonna be all raw minus kick. Thanks for watching!
great job! you look gigantic behind that kit . . . what are the sizes!? is that a veneer?
you should do more off there album (:
Hey man =]
The snare is triggered fully in this cover, and the sample used is of the actual snare in the video... haha, the only reason it's triggered is so I don't have to worry about gating all my channels and I can literally just open up a saved cubase project preset, press record and play the drums =D
I use drumagog, and I'll never use chango's snare, he's an awesome engineer but dat snare =| Just don't like it for some reason HAHA
Thanks for the comment man!
Sick snare sound. What mic did y--- Ohhhhh, there's no mic on it...
Thanks dude, Cornwall - UK.. My band is 'Mutant Lion Massacre' =D
The snare is triggered on the batter head, and mic'd on the snare head.. Then I use a sample of my own snare (the snare in this video) as the trigger. Blend to taste.
Thanks for watching =]
Thanks for watching dude! Kick is triggered, snare is miced on the bottom and triggered and blended together. Fair play man, my newer ones are gonna be all raw, minus triggered/blended kick =]
Meinl nice!
Hey man, just watched all your videos and you are a fantastic drummer. Your kit sounds so sick! I have a question though...the snare in this vid sounds way different than the one in your O.G. Loko cover, is it triggered? Like a chango snare?
Good 👍
Thanks fella! I've got some of those coming up! =D
haha, thanks.. Where are you located?! =]
The minute I heard the bass drum...I was like. "Ear orgasms!!" I love the low deep ones. I'm not a professional drummer or anything. I just like the sound. :3
I stand corrected!
This is an awesome cover bro, one question though lol. How on Earth do you afford all that equipment?
Cheers bey!
HAHA.. It takes me proper ages to decide on a song ;]
beautiful kit, what kind of wood is that?
Kickass
Thank you!
Thanks man! Tiki.
Here, i think I'm using some cheapish Sennheiser in ear buds. Thanks for watching =]
Thanks man! Yeah, I love my snare =]
Those sticks look like chopsticks xD That kit is beautiful though, great sound. The cymbals could use a bit more volume though, but other than that no complaints. Very nice cover
Dude....I FUCKING LOVE YOUR KIT!! im gonna get a snare that is close looking to yours haha :D
absolutely perfect
haha I personally like the bell that gets its own stand.
cool
I Edit in my sampled Zilbel over the original bell. The original bell wasn't prominent in the mix enough =]
Thanks man!
Thanks man! Will do now =D
PS - Someone marked your comment as 'spam'.. I unmarked it :'D
Thaannks!
Thanks!
Thanks bro!
Thanks man! The snare was EQ'd/Compressed quite a bit, probably just over did it haha =]
I like your set, mines clear :D
Incorrect, but thanks for watching fella!
Thank you! Means a lot =]
I fucking love this man.
Somewhat, Kick 10 is the only SSD, and it's blended with my kick. =D
Haven't played in ageeeees! =]
Is your kick triggered? Or is it a lot of compression and hi end? I'm not asking in a bad way at all, just curious!
your snare sounds so good....I've only ever heard ones sound that good electronically lol
Andrew Poole he use triggers
