Love this bike when i was 24 this is the style we would of choose , high bars stepped seat four into one , love the way you rode the old doll without a front brake , so many standard zeds in the uk today ,' its like watching paint dry ffs , this is how they should be, black comfortable , and nasty , 'nice work johnny ya make me smile x
Wow that thing really went from rags to riches. Again, I’m so glad you’re restoring these classic gems and not just letting them rot away. I’ve owned many old Kawasaki over the years and I love them. I’m currently riding a 2021 Z900 RS Café. I absolutely love it but it doesn’t have the character of the old carburetor Kawasaki‘s.
Weldone Johnny’s another one risen from the junk pile and made good for someone to ride again, keep up the good work and videos thanks for sharing your time and knowledge with us all
MAN....LOVE JOHNNYS....this channel is like a course in Kawasaki mechanical theory and Z1/KZ history!!! @44:08 that signature Kawi vuhhh-wumm-buh-bum-bum says Miss Treated is BACK, and with one kick...sweet!! = ))
I have one just like that one. My Dad bought it new in 74. I haven't ridden it in 27 years. I keep meaning to get it out and restore it. Thanks for the video. It was like looking at pictures of an old girlfriend!
Absolutely love watching your videos guys, please keep them coming. Love the fact that these fantastic bike's are being brought back from the dead and are gonna be ridden as they should.
You did a very good job of putting the bike back together, I have a 74 also. I have to check some of my seals because I was getting oil on the plugs the last time I rode it. I haven't ridden it in a while but it has always been in my garage so one day I will take the time to fix it.
If I ever get the lottery you will be getting a phone call from me as. You're a great fella with the zed range of early kawasaki although I'd like to get one with the Lester mag wheels just a rider stocks never been my thing your vids are great top man thanks for your time to share with us mad max zed I live in northern Ireland we've been locked down with the covid19 virus you've made my day 👍😎🍀
Man! That thing was a real Frankenstien bike! I've just sarted watching this and will watch the rest later! I am the original owner of a '77 KZ1000-LTD and need somebody to get it running right. Where are you located?
This stuff is almost better than s*x. What I wouldn't give to be a young man working as an apprentice in your awesome shop. I sure hope you and your guys are passing on your wealth of knowledge. Miss Treated has been transformed into the Black Beauty.
Thanks again for a great video. I really would like you to do a sanctuary type of restore. ..you would kill it. They are beautiful custom Z1s. I believe they charge about 30,000.00. I bet you can do one just like them for a lot less...selling price that is. I'd be curious at what your cost would be to do a sanctuary type of Z1.
Bruce, thanks for watching. Not sure what you mean by sanctuary restore, but we did to a mint restore on a 1975 Z1900 for the original owner in CA, who's low-mileage bike from his youth sat here at his father's house in Ohio. Though the restore didn't require all the work that was done to it, this owner wanted a top-to-bottom restore. It's a long video, but you can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/V-W5u1i44Z0/w-d-xo.html. Our favorite projects are those that come to us with a personalized story.
Hay my name is John and I have a 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 600 and had a problem with it dropping out of second gear would you have any idea why I spent 3K to get it fixed but it still does it Thanks John
No shame in selling yourself and business. But that bike would be a cost to finish and try to sell. Man hours alone. You had parts that cost you money at some point in time. So you did ok on the bike, and you love doing it. If you didn't you wouldn't but , that is working for pennies on the day. I have built enough bikes to know that bike will need another 5 k to 7 k make it 100%. "road worthy" . I say not !!! Spokes are shot ,no front brakes ,valve seals and guides, I didn't see you even check the valve lash , or a compression test. So "road worthy is a BIG STRETCH to say. Old dry rotten tires (new or not they are junk )and chain sprockets the list could go on and on.
There is one thing that BUGS me about this guys vids and I wish he would try to address it, because of editing he ends up repeating himself way to much.

I guess not having a working front brake is a nod towards the flat tracker theme. As always another informative and entertaining video.
Man I hate to admit it I've been a Harley guy forever but forget Harleys I want a Kawasaki z1900
Thanks for the vid Johnny. A pleasure to see you restore a beauty of a bike. Cheers bud.

It would be nice if you could restore a gpz 1100 from 81 or 82
43:54, i didnt know kawi made a 900 2 stroke.........
hope that exhaust pipe is not just holdin on by just the head bolts, eek!!
Not at all. Before the bike left the shop, we fabricated a bracket which secured it with bolts.
i think my 900 had those clocks here in the UK

@@Johnnysvintage I had to google. A.C. Sanctuary is a Japanese company that does restorations with performance upgrades.
I would love too buy a motorcycle from this man I wish I had his info
Gotta be careful with those emgo pods because there's an inner lip in them that can block off the side air inlets of the carb mouth.
Hay my name is John and I have a 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 600 and had a problem with it dropping out of second gear would you have any idea why

We're amateurs and we're trying. Just trying to get the word out. (We actually edit a lot out already!)
