If you left the rainwater off the gutters into the tanks when cattle are gone out, it would be a big help to have water into the slurry. We do that every year now, great job to reduce drawing in the water, which is fair sickening when you're trying to empty the bloody tanks.
Just wondering did you ever put nuts into the big green bin u put up on de home farm a few years ago because I never see u go near it or even talk about it
Well Phil just after watching your video on putting out the slurry. We are currently replacing a tank like yours that the central wall fell in. Because he emptied one tank and other was full and the pressure took the wall Out off it. And all Fell in.
If you put some enzymes in that slurry store they should convert the crust eventually and also keep the slurry mixed. reduce smell and increase the fertilizer values of the slurry. Straw bedding, might be more expensive than slats, but you get good quality manure and the beef cattle are on hard concrete 24hrs a day. Imagine if you had to sit on concrete all the time, it not natural or good for man nor beast.
Good one Phil, the shop site is looking very nice, lots of POO stiring today but it's a job that has to be done. Bro is very busy around the farm many hands make easy work keep up the good work BRO.
Though 5 ft deep was just so you had a chance of keeping heads above the shi..t if a slat or two broke... 😮😅. Now on old builder friend used old slats to make a hard standing area in a yard.. filled with hardcore.. stay safe 🏴
Good work Phil. More slatted tank would be a help. All in good time. If you have a 30 ton machine with a ripping tooth and breaker you will hardly fail to dig a 8ft tank. Yes it'll be costly but you can stock pile good quality rock and fill for other projects.
Hi Phil. See your problem for mixing. Did you see the solution Dave wuz here in Northern Ireland has to a very similar situation to yours? Works a treat 😉
great to see 6480 back in action. They are a fine machine. The rock and slatted tanks, why not get it blasted as against rock breaker. Professionally done its a better job. Had to be done at home because of the rock and a very good job. You get the depth you need. Best of luck and thanks for great videos.
Hi Phil just watching your problem with slatted tanks you have the opposite of pemberton farm with bed rock things have moved on since the 90ts with rock brakes I'm a retired plant hire company I done one a few years ago
if u ever do a tank , do one with a 16,6 slat .......u can then feed both sides of the tank ............rock is not so much of a problem nowadays as diggers have got bigger and with much more powerful rock breakers ....... try and get down 9 ft. u will not regret it ........
What a pity we don't have scent facilities on I/Net there would be some complaints pouring in. Slurry pits a very dangerous site if not carefully managed. Lost a friend to it. Keep 'er Lit.
Shed old as the hills best job would be if ya could get a whisk agitator some where... Will work well o shallow tanks and surprisingly easy to get in..
Are uses goin be in national ploughing championships this year phil I'm hoping so I missed used last year an hoping uses be goin and have ur murchin 🎲 dice n stuff anyway if you can let us no in one ur videos before end September

Would it be possible to build and area up for a new slatted shed rather than digging down into the rock or doing a bit of both?

Love your videos Phil but be careful of the Hydrogen Sulphide, I’ve experience of tragedy. Just stay safe
I don't know how much it would cost you but, seems to me like, you might want to think about re-designing that building for the slurry tank(s).
Kept going, fair play folks
Good stuff
Numbers going up nicely Phil.
Great video Phil.
Will Lee be available to give ye a hand with the next restoration?
Put in a mixing gang slat Phil🙂

Phil I’m not being smart or funny but honestly buy yourself a NC slurry pump/agitator you will have the tanks mixed in half the time
Or redrock megaflow
@@robertdonnelly385 na redrock no good
@@Rmac-eb2zb have you used all brands and nc is best?
@@kieranosullivan02 mixed plenty of tanks along side other pumps and my auld nc3000 was mixing quicker and further
Show the dung pit been emptied too
What stand are u on in tullamore
Shed old as the hills best job would be if ya could get a whisk agitator some where...
