    Simplest explanation of a TC requires 0 words. Good job.

    is it possible to change the wires and use different materials like Iron-Constantan, Nickel-Chromium, Platinum-Rhodium or somehting like that? if yes, does the thermometer work?

    This video helped a lot, as other comments suggested if you speak and explain it more detail it would be better. I hope you can make tutorials where you can discuss more clearly. Thanks.

    I have a question. So there is a potential difference, but what is the efficency and are they commercialy available at higher efficency?

    Is it possible to make this into a battery that charges on heat? What is the efficiency of the device of converting heat into electricity?

      I saw a type of fabric that charges devices via heat, but that isnt open to the markets yet( I dont think)

      coolkat0204 It would be interesting to compare it with a solar panel since most heat are radiaton

      Seehanur Huang not most heat..... All heat is radiation

      Yes it is possible. But it requires huge numbers of junctions and lots of heat. Satellites use this to power themselves.

    what is the material called and where can you get it?

  • @miszcz310
    @miszcz310 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you would put the thermocouples in series but opposite Voltage drop you would get auto-zero of ambient temperature. So if you would to heat one the result would be just the temperature above ambient. Also if this "ambient" thermocouple would be in ice water you would get very easy conversion mV->C

    One more thing, what is the effect if the connection is reversed?

    I really want to hear sound of it. Is there any chance that adding amp to it will generate sound?

      No need to buy wires, just combine malbari with tamil makes a good thermocouple :)

    It would be good if you were using an analog meter with pointer. I have to have more confidence

    • @ziggymondus8753
      @ziggymondus8753 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      On an anolog meter you would look at the numbers where the pointer points, the only practical difference between analog and digital is that instead of looking where the pointer points the number itself shows.
      Imagine if you asked a friend to write an analog measurement down, would you trust him to tell you correctly, or think that because ‘you’ didn’t see the pointer for yourself you wouldn’t trust him?
      A digital meter is just an analog in writing.
      Maybe if you had access to both analog and digital meters at the same time, you could test them against each other?
      Mind you, I used to have the same problem with languages, if I didn’t hear ‘and’ see a conversation via a film or real people, I had a hard time believing that what I saw just written down meant what It was said to mean.
      Hope this helps.

    The way that thermocouples work is that you need 2 of them. You heat one and cool the other.

    • @ziggymondus8753
      @ziggymondus8753 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the first time I have seen thermocouples being used. If the way they work is to heat one and cool the other, how is that demonstrated here, since a measurement occurs when (as I presently understand it) both are heated together?
