As a neutral, I really didn't see that NZ was in control through much of that match... South Africa had an interesting defence aura... (hear me out😂)... I note that when it was just normal gametime and neither team seemed to have particular momentum, SA just defended like any other team, snipes here and there to nab the ball when it was maybe available, maybe not...but just kinda tackle, defend, nothing special, but when NZ suddenly had momentum behind them, momentum of the game or the crowd or what I don't know, but just that feeling of them stepping up a gear, SA defence seemed to change a gear too, they stopped trying to get hands on 50-50 balls, they left them and just got their defence watertight, almost with the set up that "NZ will make a mistake" and it happened... I note they sort of did the same against England... As soon as England got the momentum, SA reverted to watertight decision making. Very clever really.

Look I’m a kiwi and I am very sad right now as we were SOOO close to achieving the impossible but it just simply wasn’t our day. Massive congratulations to South Africa, you have shown yourselves to be the true powerhouses of rugby and today you have made history. This is your era and you deserve every bit of credit as I am a huge fan of your team, especially Kolisi and Kolbe (Kolbe is one of my favourites). I’m still very upset but I’ll get over it, just again congratulations, you deserve it. P.S. to all my fellow kiwi fans calling out the ref, let’s not forget how we won in 2011. Let’s be proud of our boys and I look forward to seeing us rebuild and attempt to reclaim the gold in 2027!
2011 was nothing like the debacle we saw today from the officiating absolute robbery, congrats to south africa but I think they would much rather win against a 15man all blacks then 14 for 78mins
I know people tend to dislike the English in Rugby. But in our semi final against SA they only led the game for 4 minutes of the 80. The last 4 minutes. So we feel your pain of being so close. Then again we wouldn’t have beaten you in the final anyway 😂
Courageous performance by the All Blacks with 14 men to the final moment there. And congratulations to SA for winning the World Cup...we in Fiji a super proud of our boys and I'm sure South Africans and New Zealanders will be more than super proud of them boys performance in the Final. It was a Rugby World Cup Final worth watching. Thank you from 🇫🇯
All Blacks did it with 14? Yeah because of a shoulder charge. South Africa did it without a hooker, because he was INJURED in the first 70 seconds of play, by an All Black. I am NOT willing to give the All Black player the benefit of the doubt that he just 'accidentally' weakened the Springboks scrum and line out in the first 70 seconds. Looked deliberate. Unnatural, disguised as clumsy.
@023achilles wtf if you thought that was "deliberate" then you've clearly not played rugby. It was a sloppy cleanout which deserved a yellow, but it definitely wasn't "deliberate".
@@DougieBarclay Show me another 'clean out' where the opposition ends up sitting on the lower leg/knee of the player he is cleaning out. He isn't even TRYING to keep his weight off Bongi. That means he is trying to put his WEIGHT ON BONGI. All of it. And where? On the lower leg, so that the knee twists the way it does. It is deliberate disguised as sloppy. And you fell for it.

Congrats on your victory... well played...
While I can see where you are coming from, it take a gargantuan effort to even defend against the AB's on any given day, let alone edge them on the scoreline in a WC final, which is what we did. We did not beat them convincingly, we edged them, but the final count is where it lies and we were on the positive side of the scoreline. Tha'ts all there is to it @@mrbeeoutdoors3213

Yes, did you notice that they stopped jumping in the line outs when it was AB throw in.

Thank you from 🇫🇯
I was rooting for you guys to go through. So close! Our Southern Hemisphere brothers. And so proud of our Bokke!
Fiji showed how fantastic they truly are this world cup. Can’t wait to see them go even further! They have been a pleasure to watch.
