  • Picked this saw at an auction years ago for about $30. Found a motor in the barn and figured I would bring it back to life! Sorry about my mess I'm in the middle of cleaning the hoard of junk from this barn.

    That's cool.

I have one of these with no motor. I'm wondering if you know what the size of the motor is?
I want to find an old motor so it doesn't look silly with a new one, but I also don't want to under or over size it.
I'm guessing somewhere between 1/3 and 3/4 HP but it's just a guess.

It wasn't much but it was an old farm auction find so probably not original. 1/3 would be fine but the lower rpm was more important.

WOW really quick reply to a really old post. Thanks for the info. I think I'll find a dirty old motor on ebay to match my dirty old saw. I'll calculate the pulies I need to come up with for 60-70 strokes per minute as that what it seems yours is doing. Mine saw still in "Line Drive Mode" so it is a bit of a blank slate. I have an old hit and miss engine I wanted to use but setting up a line shaft for one little saw started to get a bit ridiculous. Mine saw has Patent Pending in the casting so it is pretty old.

@@DavoShed hah, the wonders of phone notifications. If I had the motor it came with still I would send that info but it's sadly long gone.

Did you ever get it to cut strait? I have the same issue on a similar saw.

Yes just need to be sure to align the blade before cutting. The blade pin on mine will stay very tight once I set and screw it down.
