First thing you need is to get the rules, read them and look at the competition’s cars and see what their doing, you can learn a lot just by walking by. Second find some help, a retired racer or someone who helped other folks in your area to advise you. From what I see it took you 3 cars to get something to work with. You will save more money and time by having a local shop to help with your base line set up, even if you have to pay. Because trying to figure out how to drive and diagnose the set up is tough. By having a basic set up then you can learn how to race. Plus you will build relationships that will help you get better. Racing is like life you have to put in effort and need some help to get started, but hard work and learning will let you compete in this class. It’s too easy to buy success but if you and your dad apply your self’s you will get there
That is the plan, I’ve already got the rule book memorized by heart. And have a local guy who is setting up my car. And believe me when I tell you I can’t afford to buy success. The only reason I got my newest car is because it was such a crazy deal I couldn’t pass it up, if it wasn’t for that I would still be running the black car.
@@millertimemotorsports2844 actually you did yourself a favor by up grading. The new car has more potential for growth. The black car or the other one can be made work but it would take some experience to make work. We bought someone out so we started with good stuff

Couple thing I would change - that fuel line change that to metal less headaches lot less fire chances - battery hold down get some threaded rod bend ends - fixes not long enough- next thing stagger wheel offset - makes a big difference on tacky track over dry slick - another trick since can’t run a right front shutoff - place a little worn on right front versus new pad on left - if can pushes the difference in pads will make car pull left helps turn car now push straight
Your making a great effort for sure. Keep it up. Good video. Look forward to seeing more. Believe me I know how hard it is to start racing when no one close to you has any experience to help you out. But one thing about the racing community is there are lots of folks will give you advice and info it they perceive your a good person and deserving of their experience. So just ask and do it politely.
Your doing good man it takes a lot of racing and years to know what some of these guys know but learning the basics will open the door to understanding how the car moves. Sounds like your car has soft and hard tires on it. One of the biggest things I've found is tire stagger witch helps with entering the corner you said you have the same size tires on the front and bigger ones on the back. A good start with stagger would be to put your biggest tire on right front and then a smaller tire on the left front then for the rear right rear put a tire that's with in a 1" to 1.50" smaller then the right front you can put this same size tire on the left rear. Tire compound depends on track and some what preference ha a softer tire will stick better in dry slick but wear faster and harder tire with last longer and just takes longer to get heat in it. Next biggest thing after stagger is camber on the right front then weigh out your car get your cross balances cause cross weight is also what helps into the corner, then your spring rates and how your shocks are working. Shocks and spring will take a season to really figure out cause that all depends on how you drive and track. Cheers man from the west coast 🤠
I like your videos I'm from Brownstown Indiana when I was growing up I always went racing with my neighbor and he drove a bomber at Brownstown and to this day bombers are my favorite class
Stiffer spring on the LR is to help get more LR bite on exit of corners. If RR is getting a considerable more bite than LR you will likely be loose on corner exit.

Your biggest tire should go on your right front the smallest one on left rear . Also your right rear lower trailing arm should be cut down a inch to help the car preset it's self in the corner along with a inch out both top arms to set the pinion angle on rear end
Thats right or a strieght up 7on the left rear will help ya keep from spining out or make in ya feel like ur gonnaspin on entry it tightens up the car alittle bit
Im serious man i talked to him yesterday bout kinda helping ya out teach ya like he done me if listen to anybody listen to him promise you wont be dissapointed by what he dose or tells ya to do to help u improve.or get to wher you comfortable in that race car

Tire sizes are 26.5 and 27.5, not sure how you wanna run them but for my car its the bigger 27.5 right side and 26.5 left side you also gotta figure out stagger
I used books from Steve Smith Autosports to build my first cars. LOTS of great info! Race Car Fabrication and Preparation, Building a Street Stock and Building a Hobby Stock were my go-to manuals. Get a hold of Hoosier directly to learn about the tires, they'll teach you EVERYTHING you need to know!

I race semi lates in Pennsylvania I know the feeling just started racing and not knowing to much but been around dirt track racking my entire life and no one who is in your class wants to help another person you gotta watch is Hollis farms racing
I would suggest running a softer rf and a stiffer lf. I run a 1100 on my lf and a 1000 on my rf. This allows the car to roll over more and put more pressure on the right side tires, sidebite. Are you allowed to run a taller spring on the left rear?
The h-40 is the hard compound tire save those for ur RR for when the truck slicks over try with hard on right rear. And leave the 27.5 tires for the right rear as will. Get a stager tape measure and measure the tires the tallest start with RR then go driver side then RF with the tallest RR and smallest goes RF
Ride height, wheel off set, smileys or Day motor sports have shock and spring packages, with people you can talk to about what the car is doing, get a set of scales find out your rear % Hang weight where you need it. Hoosier H500 is a decent tire and the American Racer AR500 is a very good tire.
Track will determine tire stagger. Contact Hoosier and they’ll be able to explain the different compounds and when to change them. Get in touch with your local track and ask about tire rules and sometimes they’ll know what the others are running to kinda help get ya pointed in the right direction. Check out Dirt Daddy on TH-cam, he’s Hunt the Front guys dad and helps out several kids in his neighborhood with racing and life. He might just be able to help ya out some. Good luck and keep rolling them out.
